An Inner Life of a Cold Beauty Omega Secretary - Chapter 1
At eight o’clock in the morning, sunlight streamed through the window into the room, waking Ye Baiwei from her slumber with its piercing glare.
She uncomfortably tried to block it with her hand, but found she couldn’t; the warm sunlight seemed to have a tracking device, constantly swirling around her face.
A moment later, Ye Baiwei finally sensed something was wrong. She slowly moved her hand away from her eyes and subconsciously reached out to her side. The instant she touched something next to her, she sat bolt upright in bed like a coiled spring.
Then, she saw a woman wearing sexy pajamas sleeping beside her, letting out soft, coquettish moans in her sleep that were enough to give anyone goosebumps.
Ye Baiwei hadn’t yet processed what was happening—why was she here? Who was this woman sleeping next to her? Why were they in bed together? What exactly was their relationship?
A cold, stern voice drifted in from the doorway: “President Ye, it’s time to get up.”
President Ye?
Was that directed at her?
But she wasn’t a “President Ye!”
Still, her surname was Ye. If it wasn’t calling her, who else could it be?
It was just her and this sexy woman in the room; it was impossible the voice was addressing the woman lying beside her.
Ye Baiwei tried to shake the person awake, but the woman under the covers didn’t seem to have had enough sleep. Shoving Ye’s hand away, she murmured, “President Ye, you’re so annoying… I’m so sleepy.”
Alright, it was now fully confirmed: she was indeed the “President Ye” the female voice outside was calling for.
But she was originally just a corporate slave working for a boss, earning ten thousand a month. After deducting health insurance and various other fees, her take-home pay was only about five thousand. Not only was she far from being a boss, she was exploited by her boss every day, working herself to the bone. To save a little on rent, her commute was an hour and a half long, and by the time she got home, her legs didn’t even feel like her own.
To think that after just one night of sleep, she had suddenly become a CEO?
How could such a good thing exist in this world?
Ye Baiwei ran a hand through her hair, intending to find out the cause of all this.
She picked up the phone on the table and realized it wasn’t hers. However, for some reason, a password automatically formed in her mind. After she entered it, the screen swiped open instantly.
Ye Baiwei was astonished. Staring at the contents of the phone, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and carefully observed the room. Suddenly, this scene felt incredibly familiar, as if she had seen it somewhere before.
Not on a screen, though, but in the descriptions of a specific text.
Wait.
Descriptions in a text…
The protagonist in a certain story was also named Ye Baiwei!!!
It was then that Ye Baiwei realized she had transmigrated into a book—a melodramatic ABO Yuri novel titled The Female CEO’s Second Spring. The protagonist shared her name, Ye Baiwei, and was a hot-bodied, flirtatious-looking, and flamboyant female Alpha.
She was also the future heir to the Ye Group.
And… a promiscuous scumbag Alpha.
In the original novel, the author wrote Ye Baiwei’s romantic history as something “earth-shattering.” Basically, anyone Ye Baiwei took an interest in eventually became a regular guest in her bed. Consequently, her secretary—the Omega who had just called her “President Ye” from the doorway—had dubbed her “Madam Ye” (the Pimp).
The reason was simple: in the original story, the number of people Ye Baiwei had slept with—whether Alpha, Omega, or Beta—couldn’t be counted on one hand. If this were ancient times, she’d have enough partners to open an entire brothel.
Most importantly, Ye Baiwei’s encounters with these partners were all one-night stands.
The sexy woman currently lying beside her was one of the original Ye Baiwei’s one-night stands from last night, a Beta named Li Qingqing.
Ye Baiwei wondered if she had committed some terrible sin in her past life to transmigrate into this kind of character. She admitted she was a bit of a “low-brow” reader who loved these kinds of melodramatic novels. When she stayed up late to follow this story, she just wanted to see how the original Ye Baiwei would find her “second spring.”
Being a scumbag to this extent, if she ever truly fell for someone later, it would be a disservice to her trashiness if she wasn’t sent straight to the “crematorium” (karmic retribution)!
But she never expected…
Could this be punishment for her love of trashy novels? To make her inhabit the body of such a scumbag? She was a lesbian who hadn’t even been in a relationship yet; in reality, she didn’t even know where her future partner was. To suddenly become a promiscuous piece of trash right out of the gate was something she truly couldn’t accept!
She wasn’t “clean” anymore, boohoo—
Just as Ye Baiwei was tearfully mourning her lost chastity, the door was pushed open with a heavy thud.
Ye Baiwei looked up and was momentarily stunned as snippets of the original novel’s descriptions flashed through her mind.
[The newcomer is an Omega, Ye Baiwei’s newly hired secretary, named Mu Zheng.]
[She has a good face, snow-white skin, and refined features, yet she isn’t considered particularly standout among Omegas. She doesn’t have a perfect curvy figure, and her face lacks any expression. She isn’t likable at all—cold as a walking human refrigerator, with the words “Do Not Approach” practically written on her face.]
The original Ye Baiwei seemed to dislike this secretary very much, thinking there couldn’t be a more tactless Omega in the world—someone who wouldn’t laugh, cry, or say anything sweet, and who kept a stiff face all day like a block of wood.
However, because Mu Zheng was highly capable and could settle all of Ye Baiwei’s work matters—including her countless scandals—Ye Baiwei was forced to keep her around.
Fortunately, the original Ye Baiwei hadn’t made a move on Mu Zheng. Otherwise, when Ye Baiwei was reading The Female CEO’s Second Spring, she would have wanted to send the author death threats.
So, how should she speak to Mu Zheng now?
The Ye Baiwei in the book was dissolute and moody, frequently reprimanding her subordinates and making herself widely hated. But because she was the future heir of the Ye Group, few dared to talk back to her, choosing instead to suffer in silence.
Naturally, this included Mu Zheng.
It was just that Mu Zheng was currently the most useful secretary Ye Baiwei had, and she was irreplaceable. That was why Ye Baiwei lowered her standards and didn’t pursue Mu Zheng’s perceived insolence.
“Secretary Mu, didn’t anyone teach you that you need to knock before entering someone’s room?”
A look of bewilderment crossed Mu Zheng’s face. She looked Ye Baiwei up and down, then frowned slightly, as if trying to confirm something.
This made Ye Baiwei feel like she was sitting on pins and needles, uncomfortable all over. Could Mu Zheng have realized she wasn’t the “original”?
That shouldn’t be possible.
She was using the tone described in the novel for Ye Baiwei’s character to speak to Mu Zheng. Moreover, nobody in this world would actually believe someone had transmigrated, right?!
Ye Baiwei’s heart pounded wildly, feeling like she had been caught doing something shameful.
While she was still considering what to say next, Mu Zheng shifted her gaze away and spoke in her usual cold tone: “President Ye, I have called you several times. There is an important company meeting you need to attend today. The Chairman has been calling and urging me, so I had no choice but to burst in.”
Mu Zheng then looked down at the watch on her wrist and added, “President Ye, you have twenty minutes.”
What? A company meeting?!
She had to attend a company meeting?
If she went to a company meeting, wouldn’t she be exposed immediately?!
Ye Baiwei wanted to retreat. Setting aside whether she could fool the shareholders, if someone suddenly asked her about company matters, she’d be finished. They’d say she was an imposter and call the police to haul her away!
But if she refused to go, she’d be exposed right now anyway. There was no escape.
After careful consideration, Ye Baiwei decided to treat it like a “dead horse” (a desperate gamble). If she was asked anything, she would play dumb and then find an opportunity to slip away.
“Oh, twenty minutes left.”
Unable to stand Mu Zheng’s constant scrutiny, Ye Baiwei grabbed the clothes from the bed and scurried toward the bathroom.
Mu Zheng glanced at her back for a moment and then bent down to start tidying the room.
The clothes scattered everywhere spoke volumes about the intensity of the previous night, but Mu Zheng’s face remained expressionless. She simply picked up the clothes one by one from the floor as if it were a routine, threw them into the trash can outside, and took a clean set of clothes from the wardrobe to place on the headboard.
Perhaps her movements were too loud, as Li Qingqing was woken from her sleep. She opened her eyes, saw Mu Zheng cleaning nearby, and suddenly reached out to grab her.
Mu Zheng’s movements paused as she slowly turned her head to look at her.
Li Qingqing rolled over, propping her chin on her hand, and asked teasingly, “Are you really her secretary?”
Mu Zheng didn’t get angry at the question, as Li Qingqing wasn’t the first person Ye Baiwei had brought home to ask her that. “What do you think, Miss Li?”
“Just a secretary?” Li Qingqing asked pointedly.
Mu Zheng replied habitually, “Yes, just a secretary.”
Li Qingqing clearly didn’t believe it. Her hand moved restlessly along Mu Zheng’s arm. “You’re so good-looking and an Omega; President Ye doesn’t have any designs on you?”
In the beginning, Mu Zheng would explain seriously, but as Ye Baiwei brought more and more people back, Mu Zheng became too lazy to explain much. “Since you’re awake, Miss Li, please get dressed. The money has already been transferred to your card.”
Sensing the “keep away” tone in Mu Zheng’s voice, Li Qingqing didn’t stop. Instead, she became more interested in Mu Zheng. “Then I’ll really take you for the President’s secretary. Honestly, why are you willing to stay with someone as moody as President Ye? I’ve heard her secretaries don’t last long—she changes them every so often. If she takes her anger out on you someday, you’ll be so miserable. Why not come with—”
Before she could finish, Mu Zheng immediately pulled her hand back. “Miss Li, you have five minutes. I assume President Ye made everything clear when she brought you back. If you don’t leave when the time is up, Miss Li, you should know what the consequences will be.”
Hearing this, Li Qingqing’s face changed instantly. Without another word, she grabbed the prepared clothes and rushed to the bathroom.
At that moment, Ye Baiwei had just finished her shower and changed. Seeing that Li Qingqing was no longer on the bed, she figured the original Ye Baiwei must have set a rule: for whatever reason, one-night stands had to leave before eight o’clock, or face the consequences. Li Qingqing likely knew what kind of person Ye Baiwei was and didn’t dare linger.
“I’m hungry.”
Ye Baiwei still wasn’t used to using such a commanding tone, but to avoid slipping up, she finally said it after a lot of mental preparation.
Mu Zheng was still tidying up. Hearing Ye Baiwei, she turned around. “Breakfast is in the living room. However, President Ye, you only have five minutes to eat. If you’re late, you won’t make the meeting.”
After saying this, Mu Zheng’s gaze moved downward. Expressionlessly, she added, “Please button your clothes properly, President Ye. Even if I am your secretary and see you every day, I still hope you can restrain your desire to show off your figure.”
Ye Baiwei immediately looked down and realized the buttons on her chest weren’t fastened properly; at a glance, she was practically baring herself.
She instinctively wanted to cover up, but remembering she was now the Ye Baiwei from the book, she suppressed the urge. She mimicked the character, slowly walking up to Mu Zheng. “Secretary Mu, are you feeling something?”
Mu Zheng looked up coldly. “I’m sorry, President Ye, but I have no interest in your body.”
With that, she stepped aside and walked past Ye Baiwei.
Ye Baiwei thought that was the end of it, but in the next second, she heard Mu Zheng’s inner roast.
[Feeling something my ass!]
