With a “bang,” Xin Yufei furiously smashed his phone on the floor, his fingers digging into the sofa, his face gradually turning pale. “What’s going on… Didn’t they say she’d collaborate with that lunatic? Why is the stock price still falling…?”
He had invested so much money, trying to seize the opportunity to make a huge profit and cover the public funds he had secretly misappropriated. Now, it was all for nothing.
A knock came from the door, a faint female voice interrupting the man’s mumbling in the room. “Mr. Xin, the meeting starts in ten minutes.”
Xin Yufei froze, then immediately rushed to open the door, only to see a young, timid woman standing there. “Who are you? Where’s Secretary Li?”
“I’m your new secretary. Secretary Li has resigned.”
“Resigned? When did he resign? Who approved it?!” Xin Yufei grabbed the new secretary’s collar, roaring hysterically.
The female secretary was terrified, tears welling in her eyes, trembling all over. “I, I don’t know… Mr. Xin can, can ask the HR department…”
Xin Yufei realized he had been tricked. Filled with fury, he shoved the female secretary away and strode towards the elevator without looking back.
“Mr. Xin, where are you going? There’s a finance meeting soon…”
“Shut up!”
At the mention of finance, Xin Yufei’s rage intensified. It was just a little company money he used, and those old folks in finance kept hounding him to report on the situation. He scoffed, thinking, the entire Xin Corporation will be mine anyway. But for now, his priority was to find Secretary Li and unleash his fury.

Xin Yufei expected to expend a lot of effort to find Secretary Li, but unexpectedly, he was right there in the apartment. The moment the door opened, Xin Yufei pounced, grabbing the other man’s collar.
With a loud thud, Secretary Li was thrown against the wall, wincing in pain. Before he could react, a heavy punch landed on his temple.
“Mr. Xin?! What’s going on?” Secretary Li instinctively raised a hand to shield his head, asking timidly.
“You dare ask what’s going on?” Xin Yufei sneered, his voice cold. “You think resigning will let you escape? Damn it, you dared to screw me over!”
Secretary Li looked at him innocently. “I submitted my resignation to you a long time ago. I told you I needed to go back to my hometown to take care of my sick mother, and you approved my resignation.”
Xin Yufei was stunned. He racked his brain, vaguely remembering something like that. But then he remembered the stock market, and the anger in his heart surged again.
“Then you said He Yuyan was going to collaborate with that crazy woman, and now there’s no such thing!”
“It was your instruction to report truthfully on Miss He’s schedule and all news and information about her. I wasn’t sure if the collaboration was real or not…”
“Are you saying I blamed you wrongly?!”
“N-no… I really did report to you truthfully, just like I reported Miss He’s previous scandals truthfully…”
“Enough!”
Xin Yufei roared, pacing back and forth fretfully. He had to find a way to get some money back now, otherwise, his father would discover the misappropriation of public funds if too much time passed. Secretary Li lowered his head slightly, glancing at Xin Yufei, a hint of a meaningful smile playing on his lips.
“I have a little bit of savings, Mr. Xin, if you need…”
“Who wants your crappy little bit of money?” Xin Yufei glared at him contemptuously.
“Indeed, my small savings are not even a fraction of the shares Mr. Xin holds.”
Xin Yufei’s eyes darkened, lost in thought. This reminder made him remember that he held 10% of the Xin Corporation’s shares. If he sold a portion, couldn’t he cover both the misappropriated and lost funds? Having found a solution, Xin Yufei instantly felt much more relaxed. He smiled faintly at Secretary Li and raised a hand to pat his shoulder.
“My apologies, I was impulsive just now. Secretary Li, hurry back home if you have family matters. I also have things to take care of. I’m leaving now.”
Watching Xin Yufei’s retreating back, Secretary Li scoffed sarcastically.
“What an idiot.”

Teng Lin did not attend He Yuyan’s launch event. Considering the presence of too many media, she declined, citing other commitments. However, she couldn’t resist He Yuyan’s persistent invitations to the evening party, so Teng Lin reluctantly agreed and attended the party with Xin Ruofan.
As expected, they saw Xin Yufei. Xin Yufei still looked vibrant and unaffected. Xin Ruofan understood; it seemed the developments were all within Zhou Zixuan’s control.
“Teacher Teng Lin, you’ve arrived.” He Yuyan raised her champagne glass and clinked it with Teng Lin’s, then turned to look at Xin Ruofan, smiling faintly. “I didn’t expect Miss Xin to be here too.”
“Sister Lin couldn’t bear to leave me waiting at home alone, so she insisted on bringing me.” Xin Ruofan swirled the champagne in her hand, a hint of triumph in her eyes. No way you’re seducing my Alpha.
Teng Lin chuckled awkwardly, then changed the subject. “Miss He, the launch event was very successful. Congratulations.”
“No need to be so formal, you can call me Yuyan.” Ignoring the gazes of others at the party, He Yuyan actively reached out and adjusted Teng Lin’s collar, her actions notably intimate and suggestive. On the other side, Xin Ruofan, who was linked arm-in-arm with Teng Lin, darkened her expression even further, her eyes turning cold.
An Alpha surrounded by two Omegas—many people caught the scent of gossip. Teng Lin, caught in the middle, felt a chill run through her. She cautiously took a step back, a sudden sense of impending danger making her want to escape.
Fortunately, He Yuyan didn’t make any more excessive moves, stopping at that. However, this Omega’s tactics were still surprising. The room card she had originally intended for Teng Lin was redirected, her hand in mid-air turning to slip it into Xin Ruofan’s hand instead. Both looked bewildered. After a moment, they heard He Yuyan slowly say, “Miss Xin can come along too. I don’t mind a threesome.”
With that, He Yuyan turned and left, leaving the two stunned women with a suggestive look.
Xin Ruofan was a little speechless. She turned her head and saw Teng Lin’s ears gradually reddening, and the subtly leaking bitter peach pheromones wafted into her nostrils, instantly stifling her heart.
“Heh, it seems you’re quite looking forward to a threesome, aren’t you?” A bright smile appeared on Xin Ruofan’s face, but Teng Lin detected coldness in it.
“N-no, I’m not.”
Xin Ruofan hummed, then turned to chat with others, leaving Teng Lin standing awkwardly alone. Teng Lin rubbed her nose self-consciously, then looked up to see Xin Yufei approaching. He held two glasses of champagne, clearly heading towards her.
“Hi, long time no see.”
“…”
Teng Lin was speechless, her faint expression revealing no emotion. She wasn’t familiar with Xin Yufei and was wary of him, unable to guess his intentions. She ignored the glass of champagne he offered. Xin Yufei shrugged, smiling nonchalantly.
“I’m not my dad. You don’t have to be so hostile towards me.”
He took a sip of the champagne in his hand and placed the other, unaccepted glass onto a waiter’s tray. Unexpectedly, the waiter was bumped by someone, stumbled a few steps forward, and the champagne on the tray spilled onto Teng Lin’s sleeve. Encountering such a cliché accident, Teng Lin’s gaze towards Xin Yufei was filled with scrutiny. She declined the waiter’s help and turned to walk towards the restroom outside the venue.
Xin Yufei thoughtfully watched Teng Lin’s retreating back, then let out a soft chuckle. This scene was seen by Xin Ruofan, who was hidden in the crowd.
