Crazy (Lily ABO) - Chapter 33
At the private hospital, the doctor examined Teng Lin and confirmed she was fine. Returning to the consultation room, however, she noticed the grave expressions on Xin Ruofan and the doctor’s faces.
Teng Lin sat beside Xin Ruofan, and her right hand, resting on her knee, was gently taken, her fingers interlacing tightly with the Omega’s soft ones.
“The blood test report is back. Besides trace amounts of an aphrodisiac drug, there’s also a minuscule amount of another agent.” The doctor pushed the paper report towards them, pointing to the name of a certain amine drug.
“This drug, if ingested in excess, can lead to dopamine secretion imbalance, causing extreme excitement, irritability, hallucinations, and in severe cases, even death.”
“This type of drug was once used in clinical medicine, but there were several incidents caused by improper dosage control, and it has now been listed as a banned substance.”
“Fortunately, Miss Teng Lin’s intake was minuscule and had no impact on her body, but I recommend you report this to the police.”
A cold sweat slowly beaded on Teng Lin’s back. If she hadn’t struggled so hard then, she wouldn’t be sitting here safe and sound now.
Excitement, irritability, hallucinations… The descriptions of these symptoms seemed familiar, just like how the police described her father’s breakdown back then. A thought flashed through her mind.
A slight prickling sensation in her right hand brought Teng Lin back to reality. She turned her head to look at the Omega beside her. Xin Ruofan’s emotions were clearly off; she was trembling uncontrollably, her mind clouded by overwhelming anger.
“Ruofan.”
A gentle call reached her ear, finally drawing Xin Ruofan’s thoughts back. Teng Lin extended her bandaged left hand and gently brushed away the stray hairs falling by the Omega’s ear, gazing intently into those light gray eyes. She softly reassured her, “I’m okay.”
Yes, Teng Lin was okay. Her Sister Lin was safe and sound; her Alpha was right beside her. Nothing was more important than this. Xin Ruofan pursed her lips, fighting back the tears welling in her eyes, and choked out, “Mhm, I’m okay now.”

After her anger subsided, Xin Ruofan regained her rationality, and her emotions gradually calmed. She proactively video-called Zhou Zixuan and recounted everything that had happened. Zhou Zixuan’s brows furrowed, her expression becoming serious. After a moment of contemplation, she solemnly asked, “Ruofan, do you know the predecessor of the Xin Corporation?”
Xin Ruofan nodded, a hypothesis already forming in her mind. “I remember it was in pharmaceutical manufacturing.”
Zhou Zixuan said, “I’ve found something here.”
Before the establishment of the Xin Corporation, there was a pharmaceutical factory called Xinhai Pharmaceuticals, located in the remote village area of Haishi’s East District. Twenty years ago, the Hai City municipal government planned to develop the East District into a transportation port and acquired land in the East District from the Xin family. Since then, the Xin family’s business gradually shifted to real estate development, and due to their cooperation with the government, they developed rapidly.
Xin Deming took over the company from his father and officially founded the Xin Corporation. However, just before the Xin Corporation was about to go public, an unexpected incident occurred. Xinhai Pharmaceuticals was suddenly shut down, and its general manager, Teng Hongwen, suffered a mental breakdown, killed his wife, and then committed suicide.
Teng Hongwen was Teng Lin’s father.

“Later, Xinhai Pharmaceuticals was sold off, changed hands twice, and is now renamed Hekun Medical Aesthetics Company. Interestingly, one of the shareholders is Xin Yufei.”
Xin Ruofan was stunned: “After so many changes, it still returned to the Xin family…”
“No, I suspect it was always in their hands,” Zhou Zixuan said, her tone utterly confident despite speaking of a guess. The sale of Xinhai Pharmaceuticals was merely a facade, allowing the apparent decision-makers to hide behind the scenes.
Xin Ruofan’s expression grew heavier. If Xin Yufei hadn’t acted so blatantly this time, such a clue wouldn’t have emerged. She couldn’t imagine how many dirty deeds the Xin family father and son had committed behind the scenes. And her mother? Was she also involved? Xin Ruofan’s heart thumped, and her palms slowly began to sweat.
Zhou Zixuan seemed to read Xin Ruofan’s thoughts and softly said, “There’s not much information right now. Without substantial evidence, these are all just our guesses.”
Xin Ruofan quietly responded, “I understand…”
“Next, I’ll have someone investigate Hekun Medical Aesthetics and the shutting down of Xinhai Pharmaceuticals back then.” As Zhou Zixuan said this, her gaze remained on Teng Lin, seemingly hinting: Perhaps there’s more to the story of what happened back then. It might be connected to the Xin family.
Teng Lin’s expression remained calm and composed. She said nothing, only nodded slightly. Zhou Zixuan withdrew her gaze, a bright smile appearing on her face. “There’s good news. Xin Yufei has finally divested his shares, and I will complete the acquisition very soon.”
According to the plan, at the upcoming board meeting election, Zhou Zixuan would attend as a shareholder and board candidate. As long as she secured two-thirds of the shareholder support, she could remove Xin Deming. However, an opportune moment was still needed to make the other shareholders lose confidence in Xin Deming.
Xin Ruofan frowned imperceptibly. Zhou Zixuan, that fox, was still unwilling to reveal anything. She couldn’t afford to let her guard down anymore. This time, Teng Lin was dragged into it and even got hurt. Xin Ruofan felt nothing but self-blame and regret. And the matter of Teng Lin’s father, what if it really was connected to the Xin family…
Xin Ruofan closed her eyes, shaking off the chaotic thoughts in her head, and quietly tightened her grip on Teng Lin’s hand. No matter what happened, she would definitely protect her.

Xin Deming grabbed the ashtray from the desk and furiously hurled it towards Xin Yufei at the doorway. With a crash, glass shards and scattered ash covered the floor. Xin Yufei stood timidly to the side. This was the first time he had directly faced his enraged father. In the past, when he made mistakes, his father would only be verbally violent, never treating him so roughly physically.
“Chairman Xin, please consider your health. Too much agitation will raise your blood pressure.” Secretary Liang softly soothed Xin Deming, quietly shaking his head at Xin Yufei, signaling him not to speak.
Last night, Secretary Liang had received news that the Xin family’s Omega daughter and her Alpha partner had an incident at a model party. The instigator was Chairman Xin’s son, who had even used some kind of drug to induce the Alpha’s estrus. Fortunately, a few wealthy businessmen at the party pressured high-ranking police officials, and the matter was treated as an accident and not exposed by the media.
However, bad news followed rapidly. This morning, he received news of Xin Yufei privately selling Xin Corporation shares, followed by the finance department’s capital flow report… Not to mention Chairman Xin, Secretary Liang himself felt a headache coming on when he saw these reports.
“You don’t need to come to work anymore.” Xin Deming heavily exhaled, gritting his teeth to suppress his bursting rage. He glanced coldly at his timid son, as if looking at trash with disdain.
“Dad… I, I was wrong. I won’t be so impulsive again.” Xin Yufei immediately knelt on the floor, pleading.
Initially, he had directed all his anger at Teng Lin, wanting to create an accident and take photos of Teng Lin in estrus violating an Omega. He hadn’t expected her to escape and even alert the police. Once the police were involved, his father would surely find out about his connection to the case.
“Dad, I won’t mess around anymore. I’ll definitely listen to you from now on.” Leaving the group was equivalent to being stripped of his heir status. He no longer had shares, which meant no chance of joining the board. The previously embezzled public funds hadn’t been replaced, and all his invested money was gone… If this continued, he would lose everything.
“Dad, please don’t kick me out…”
Xin Deming ignored the crying man in front of him, turning his head to discuss work arrangements with Secretary Liang. “Arrange a meeting for tomorrow morning to discuss personnel changes. The cut-off funds for the engineering department will temporarily be covered by the North District branch…”
Xin Yufei knelt motionless on the floor, his hands and feet cold, his eyes vacant, staring blankly at the man at the desk who wouldn’t even spare him a glance. At this moment, he understood. He had become a discarded pawn.
Xin Yufei stood up, swaying unsteadily for a few steps, his lips pale. “Dad… To you, what am I?”
Xin Deming stopped his conversation with Secretary Liang, looked over, his eyes filled with indifference and unfamiliar detachment. “Does the answer matter?”
“Heh…” Xin Yufei laughed, but his laughter was uglier than crying.
••••
The door to the Chairman’s office opened, then closed, leaving only Xin Deming and Secretary Liang inside.
“Have someone watch Yufei. Don’t let him cause any trouble. Find out who Ruofan has been in contact with recently, and who bought the shares Yufei sold. Notify Hekun Medical Aesthetics to pause their projects and avoid too much activity for now.”
“Contact General Manager Liu of Huashi Real Estate. I need to discuss the previous matter with him.”
Secretary Liang: “Understood.”
Xin Deming rubbed his brow, a chilling coldness gradually surfacing in his eyes.
“One more thing, find Teng Fei.”
