Female Lead, Something's Not Right (GL) - Chapter 16
Shen Shu looked directly at Yu Kong. “Is she in your quarters?”
“Does the True Monarch have an objection? That disciple’s dantian was severely damaged before, and it requires seven days in the spiritual pool to recuperate. Otherwise, her future cultivation will be difficult to improve.”
Shen Shu frowned. Why didn’t she know that Gu Shiyan’s dantian was damaged? It was no wonder. She had been curious as to why Gu Shiyan’s cultivation was progressing so slowly after their s*x. Since she was a divine being, she would use a dual cultivation method every time they engaged in physical intimacy. Normally, even with mediocre talent, Gu Shiyan should have already broken through to the Foundation Establishment stage by now, but she had only progressed two levels to the fifth stage of Qi Refining.
“Shen Shu, it is her good fortune that the little outer sect disciple was able to enter the Goddess’s spiritual pool in the snowy mountains. She should be grateful.” Lu Ran knew his friend’s nature. No one else could touch what belonged to her. The current situation was the most suitable for Gu Shiyan. To prevent Shen Shu from acting stubbornly, he quickly stepped in to mediate.
Shen Shu, of course, understood the hidden meaning in Lu Ran’s words. She had plenty of spiritual elixirs and artifacts for nourishing the dantian in her quarters. However, she was about to head to the Suzaku Tower, and the journey ahead was perilous with rampant turbid energy. She was worried about letting Gu Shiyan return to the outer sect on her own. It was only seven days. She could wait.
“No objection.”
Mu Xia looked at her disciple with confusion. “Shu’er, why are you so concerned about an outer sect disciple? I’ve never heard you mention this person.”
“She’s the female disciple who completed the sealing mission with me in the Western Marshes. We just happened to get along well.”
Ling Zhidao laughed heartily. “I never expected my Alchemy Division’s outer sect to have such a fortunate disciple, who could receive help from both the Goddess and True Monarch Hehua at the same time.”
The Sect Master rubbed his head. “Since Elder Zhuge has already spoken, this matter will…”
Before the Sect Master could finish, Shen Shu took a step forward, a murderous look in her eyes. “Sect Master, I’ll handle Qin Qianqian.”
Zhuge Chan lowered his head, resuming his study of the seemingly simple but actually complex contraption in his hands. Seeing Elder Zhuge’s attitude, the sect leaders consented.
“However, the Judicial Hall still needs to inform everyone of this matter as a warning,” the Sect Master said, then added, “You must not take the Suzaku Tower matter lightly. Hehua, you should depart as soon as possible.”
In the water prison, Qin Qianqian’s hands were bound by iron chains. She looked at the guards in front of her with disdain. “I’ve said it many times. Those two outer sect disciples broke into my mechanical formation and were seriously injured by the artifact! Even if something did happen, they’re just two insignificant outer sect disciples. I’m Elder Zhuge’s direct disciple. Do you know the consequences of harming me?”
The white-robed and silver-armored guards were expressionless, like carved stones. Naturally, they were not intimidated by Qin Qianqian’s threats. Footsteps came from outside the door.
Qin Qianqian’s face lit up. “Master! I’m here!”
The person who walked in was Shen Shu, in her signature blue robes. The guards bowed their heads in respect. “True Monarch Hehua.”
Qin Qianqian was also shocked to see her. Thinking of her current predicament and pathetic state, she couldn’t help but lower her head in embarrassment.
“You may leave.”
In the water prison, Shen Shu walked up to Qin Qianqian. Qin Qianqian was overjoyed. She hadn’t expected the first person to come to her after being imprisoned would be True Monarch Hehua, whom she had longed for. She presumptuously guessed that her deliberate attempts to get close to her over the years had finally left a mark on her heart.
“True Monarch Hehua, I’m truly innocent.” Qin Qianqian looked up pitifully, wanting to gain sympathy. However, she failed to notice the murderous intent in Shen Shu’s eyes.
“Whether you are innocent or not, a soul search will reveal all.” Shen Shu said coldly.
A soul search!
Qin Qianqian’s expression cracked. For a moment, she wondered if she had misheard. A person whose soul is searched either dies or becomes an idiot. This was an extremely cruel punishment for any cultivator. Moreover, a soul search was only given to those who had committed unforgivable crimes, such as treason against the sect.
True Monarch Hehua was going to search her soul for the sake of an outer sect disciple!
“No!”
Qin Qianqian watched Shen Shu walk toward her with a serious expression and backed away in horror. “Don’t come any closer! Someone! Someone, I want to see Zhao Feixue! I want to see my Master! You are abusing your power and carrying out private torture!”
Shen Shu was like a demon, extending her finger toward Qin Qianqian’s brow.
“I don’t want a soul search! I don’t! I admit it! I admit I used a poisonous needle on Zhou Yun and threatened her to lure Gu Shiyan out!” Qin Qianqian was so terrified she lost her composure. She knew Shen Shu wasn’t joking.
Shen Shu’s finger paused. Her voice grew even lower. “What did you lure her out for?”
“That wench deliberately drew everyone’s attention in the Western Marshes and caused me to be punished at the Judicial Hall. She, on the other hand, received so many mission rewards. How could I accept that? So I tricked her out and tortured her with my whip, lash by lash. Watching her roll around in the dirt, unable to escape, was so satisfying! Hahahahaha!”
Qin Qianqian vented her hatred, completely oblivious to Shen Shu’s increasingly cold expression. She stood there silently, but her heart was already filled with a raging storm.
“I regret it now! I should have just killed her from the start and saved myself so much trouble. Just you wait until I get out…” Qin Qianqian gritted her teeth.
“You shouldn’t have touched her.” Shen Shu gathered spiritual energy in her palm, and a long whip flashing with lightning appeared. With an expressionless face, she mercilessly lashed out at Qin Qianqian.
The lightning whip struck Qin Qianqian’s bones and marrow, scorching her spiritual veins. The water prison was filled with Qin Qianqian’s shrill screams.
“You will receive a hundredfold of what she endured.” The lightning whip struck again and again. Qin Qianqian had no visible wounds on her surface, but her internal organs were already charred. Even so, Shen Shu was not going to let her off so easily.
“Ah!”
The now-unconscious Qin Qianqian felt an intense pain in her head, as if someone was hacking at it with an axe.
As a wisp of divine sense flew out of her mind, Qin Qianqian struggled and writhed in pain. When Shen Shu saw the image of Gu Shiyan, bruised and bleeding, she was filled with a fiery rage, wanting to kill the woman in front of her with a single palm strike.
After the soul search, Qin Qianqian’s body hung from the chains like a boneless doll. Her eyes were blank, her head swayed, and her mouth hung open, letting saliva drip out. When Shen Shu thought of the dying Gu Shiyan in the images, her heart ached. If Yu Kong hadn’t appeared, what would her fate have been? Shen Shu couldn’t even imagine it.
Zhao Feixue walked in and saw the idiotic Qin Qianqian. She lowered her eyes. “Her crime wasn’t punishable by death, yet you performed a soul search. Qin Qianqian is completely insane and useless.”
Shen Shu lowered her gaze. “She deserved to die.”
Zhao Feixue looked at Shen Shu’s retreating figure, a hint of surprise in her eyes. Such an impulsive act was so unlike her.
A guard walked over and hesitated. “Elder Zhao, what should we do with her?”
Zhao Feixue took one look and saw the truth of Qin Qianqian’s body. “Qin Qianqian’s insides have turned to liquid. She won’t live for long. Find a place to bury her.”
Shen Shu left the water prison, her heart heavy with concern for Gu Shiyan’s injuries. She thought of the gift she hadn’t had a chance to give her and turned to head to Yu Kong’s residence on the Three Star Peak.
It was a continuous snow-capped mountain. At the foot of the mountain was a warm area with a misty fog. In the white mist, a girl with striking butterfly bones, soaking in a hot spring, looked back, startling Shen Shu’s frozen heart.
Everything was perfectly beautiful.
When Gu Shiyan saw Shen Shu, she hid in the water behind a rock. All that was left in front of Shen Shu were the faint ripples on the water.
“True Monarch, why are you here?” a soft voice came from behind the rock. She was a little startled.
