Female Lead, Something's Not Right (GL) - Chapter 8
The moment Gu Shiyan opened the book, her eyes were met with the sight of two women with bared chests and entwined bodies. What was even more astonishing was that the person who made this book must have used some heaven-defying method of a great cultivator. The images came to life and moved vividly, and a faint sound seemed to emanate from them.
“Ah~ Be gentle, sister~”
Gu Shiyan was struck as if by lightning. She immediately threw the book to the ground, and the scenes from her illusion instantly flashed in her mind—herself and True Monarch Hehua. Recalling her own uncontrollably gasping moans, she felt her face burn, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into.
“Hey! My baby!” The stall owner, Xiao Lily, cried out in anguish.
“I-I’m so sorry!”
Gu Shiyan apologized hastily. She didn’t even stop to pick up the book from the ground as she fled in a hurry.
Xiao Lily, pained beyond words, ran over to pick up the book, but it flew into the air and landed in the hand of a veiled cultivator whose face was impossible to see.
Shen Shu’s lean, slender fingers flipped through the book, her expression unchanging. The next second, she turned and walked away.
“Hey! You didn’t pay yet!” Xiao Lily was about to say more when a medium-grade spiritual stone appeared on her stall. “Wow! It’s ten times the price! I’ve made a fortune!”
Xiao Lily quickly shouted in the direction the mysterious person had left. “Come again if you like it!”
Shen Shu lightly touched the rooftop with her toes, a flicker of pleasure rising in her heart as she watched the little person flee in a panic. But the smile on her lips barely formed before it dropped.
The girl, in her haste, bumped into a man. The man unexpectedly held her in a half-embrace. The girl meekly wrapped her arms around his waist, and the two walked forward intimately. Shen Shu’s eyes were lowered, making her expression unreadable, but the oppressive aura she was unconsciously releasing signaled her displeasure.
Gu Shiyan froze in place. She looked at the injured man in a cloak who had suddenly fallen onto her shoulder, stunned, and the dagger pressed against her waist behind her.
“S-Senior Brother, my storage bag is right here at my waist. If you don’t mind, you can take it all,” Gu Shiyan said with a trembling voice. She could feel the dampness and the scent of blood on her back. The man in front of her was injured.
“Shut up! Now take me to the Huanhuan Tower to find Hua Wu! I have placed a curse on you. If you don’t see Hua Wu within half an hour, you will explode and die!” The man’s footsteps grew more unsteady, and his voice became weaker.
What in the…!
Brother, just tell me what’s wrong. With your cultivation, I would have helped without a fuss. Why would you place a death curse on me without a word?! Gu Shiyan resentfully dragged the man, who was now as heavy as a dead pig, toward the Huanhuan Tower.
“Get out of the way!”
“Find him! Don’t let him get away!”
Suddenly, the market became chaotic. Several disciples in gray robes from the Ghost Cultivator Sect were chasing someone. Gu Shiyan didn’t dare to make any sudden moves. She could only channel her spiritual energy and calmly drag the man forward.
Gu Shiyan’s peripheral vision caught one of the Ghost Cultivator Sect disciples seemingly noticing her and walking toward her. She immediately leaned into Xiao Ze’s embrace in a shy manner. “Oh, don’t move around so much. We’re on the street.”
The disciple didn’t think twice and left. Gu Shiyan, relieved, calculated the time and quickly dragged the man to the Huanhuan Tower. Even in broad daylight, the tower’s entrance was bustling. The courtesans displayed their smiles and enticed customers.
“Young lady~ This isn’t a place for you to be.” A courtesan stopped Gu Shiyan, then seemed to realize something. “Oh, my eyes must be playing tricks on me. I didn’t realize the young lady had this kind of preference.”
Gu Shiyan was both anxious and embarrassed. She quickly handed the crescent-shaped jade stone that the man had given her to the courtesan. “I have an urgent matter with Hua Wu.”
The courtesan’s face, which had been smiling playfully, changed drastically when she saw the jade stone. Her expression became serious. She exchanged a glance with her sisters and led the two to the third floor of the Huanhuan Tower’s back courtyard.
Not long after Gu Shiyan went inside, Shen Shu stopped in front of the Huanhuan Tower. She looked at the women, and the coldness emanating from her seemed to freeze all living things within a hundred-mile radius. Everyone saw her and knew who this veiled great cultivator was. The moment she released her pressure, they quickly got away, fearing they would be caught in the crossfire.
Shen Shu gently caressed the soft silver chain on her right wrist and walked inside. Anyone who knew their wares would be shocked to see that it was a divine artifact!
On the third floor, Hua Wu sat by a bathtub, a hand stirring the petals. She was about to undress when she sensed something and gave a charming smile. “What a day it is~ to have a noble guest visit.”
As Hua Wu’s words fell, a knock sounded on the door.
“Come in.” Her voice was soft and enchanting, giving Gu Shiyan goosebumps.
Gu Shiyan helped the now unconscious Xiao Ze into the room and threw him onto a chair. “He’s here for you!”
Hua Wu lifted the cloak on the man in the chair. The moment she saw the man, Gu Shiyan’s eyes widened in astonishment!
Xiao Ze!!
In her previous life, she had only heard of the genius young man, Xiao Ze, but had never seen him in person. The heavenly book said that Xiao Ze was a prince of the human realm’s royal family. With the luck of the Human Emperor protecting him, he had awakened a single gold-element spiritual root at a young age, reaching the middle stage of Foundation Establishment by the age of twenty-eight. He would later become a disciple of the Tianxuan Sect’s leader, Shen Shu’s martial brother.
If she wasn’t mistaken, the fleeting dark energy on Xiao Ze’s face was the turbid energy! Gu Shiyan had felt that turbid energy in the White Tiger Pagoda. She couldn’t be wrong!
“He said you could break the death curse on me before he fainted! Please, Immortal Lady, save me!” Gu Shiyan was anxious, worried that the person in front of her would kill her to silence her.
Hua Wu suddenly covered her face with a hand and laughed, swaying her graceful body closer to Gu Shiyan to examine her closely. This change made Gu Shiyan feel completely uncomfortable.
“How interesting~ You have that person’s scent on you.” Hua Wu looked at her as if she was a rare treasure, wanting to see right through her.
“Huh?” Gu Shiyan was confused.
Hua Wu lifted Gu Shiyan’s chin with a finger and shook her head in disdain. “How did this iron tree blossom for you? An outer sect disciple with such ordinary talent.”
“…” Ordinary talent?
“You look just so-so, pretty at best.” Hua Wu’s fingers slid down Gu Shiyan’s waist, and she nodded in satisfaction. “But this body is soft and delicate. A little training, and it might be quite interesting.”
“…” Pretty at best?
The Huanhuan Tower was a well-known information hub, so it shouldn’t be involved in human trafficking, right? Gu Shiyan felt something was very wrong. She slowly retreated.
Hua Wu’s gaze fell on the door. “Oh my~ She’s here so fast. I can feel the anger from here.” Hua Wu said, smiling as she walked over to Gu Shiyan. “Poor little thing~ I can’t break your curse.”
Before Gu Shiyan could react, she felt a warm chest against her back. She turned around, but before she could get a clear look at the person, a red ribbon covered her eyes.
Hua Wu teased, “But someone can~”
Shen Shu’s body moved, and she landed on the bed with the girl in her arms. With a flick of her sleeve, Xiao Ze on the chair flew out of the room. The doors and windows closed tightly, and a ward was placed around the room so that no sound or movement could get out or in.
Hua Wu, outside the door, skillfully used her sleeves to catch the flying Xiao Ze. She had no doubt that Shen Shu had intended to make him fall to his death.
The clothes of the two were scattered by the bed. Inside the bed curtains, Gu Shiyan’s cry of surprise could be heard.
Gu Shiyan, panicking, hid by the edge of the bed, covering her body. “Who are you!”
In the darkness, Gu Shiyan’s five senses were amplified. Shen Shu waved her hand, and the soft silver chain on her wrist automatically flew to Gu Shiyan, tying her hands and suspending them in mid-air.
Gu Shiyan was left in an extremely lewd position, kneeling powerlessly on the bed. She trembled with fear and could only plead weakly. “Please, let me go.”
