Forced to Become the Female Villain's Doting Wife (GL) - Chapter 9
The whispering students’ voices were neither loud nor soft. Su Xianxian could hear them clearly, and so could Jiang Cuo.
Jiang Cuo had always been disdainful of such rumors. But this was the first time she had heard the rumor that Su Xianxian liked her in the classroom.
Jiang Cuo’s fingers moved involuntarily, her eyebrows slightly furrowed, and a hint of impatience surfaced between her brows.
Su Xianxian liked her?
Jiang Cuo scoffed inwardly. That was utterly ridiculous.
Su Xianxian had gone so far as to torment Jiang Cuo’s entire family, making them live in her villa, just to humiliate her. This was probably just a different method to make her admit defeat.
Jiang Cuo naturally had no interest in such childish tricks.
[Trash System: Friendly reminder, Host, Jiang Cuo’s Disgust Value towards the Host has risen. Jiang Cuo’s current Disgust Value is 90. Due to the rise in Jiang Cuo’s Disgust Value, the Host’s fusion degree with this system world has decreased by 2%. The Host’s current fusion degree with this world is 13%. Please note, Host, if the Host’s fusion degree with this world drops, all efforts made by the Host that day will be reset to zero. Please make contact with Jiang Cuo as soon as possible to increase the fusion degree with this system world. If the system detects the Host is negatively executing the mission or adopting a “slacking” mentality, the system will lock all the Host’s property rights in this world.]
Su Xianxian: ‘!!!’
Nani?!
Su Xianxian was sitting in her seat, planning to repeat her earlier action of covering her arm, propping her face, and using her bold gaze to scrutinize Jiang Cuo and lower her imposing aura. She never expected the system to warn her that the fusion degree had dropped.
What was wrong with this Female Villain? Why was she becoming so temperamental at such a young age? Wasn’t everything fine just now? The girl tore up Jiang Cuo’s homework, and Jiang Cuo didn’t increase her Disgust Value toward her. That meant Jiang Cuo didn’t care that much about her homework being torn.
So why did Jiang Cuo suddenly start disliking her again? She really hadn’t done anything.
Su Xianxian felt like she was truly the biggest victim here.
[Trash System: Please make a move quickly, Host.]
Su Xianxian clenched her fists, extremely frustrated. The trash system never explained clearly and only increased the threats whenever a problem arose.
‘Does locking my property mean freezing all the money under my name, making it unusable?’
[Trash System: Yes, Host. Not only will the money be unusable, but the villa, the butler, and the servants the Host owns will all be frozen. The Host will become a homeless vagrant.]
Su Xianxian: ‘…’
I am truly done.
Su Xianxian gritted her teeth internally, but she could only yield to the system’s coercion.
Although unwilling in her heart, Su Xianxian calmly raised her head, put on a bright smile, and narrowed her apricot eyes into crescent moons. Her body was soft and she slowly moved closer to Jiang Cuo.
Even with Su Lian’s gaze behind her, which could bore holes into the back of her head, Su Xianxian had no time to deal with her now. Her eyes were fixed only on the Female Villain, Jiang Cuo.
Su Xianxian pitched her voice, adopting a pitiful, white-lotus-like, and weak tone.
“Is Classmate Jiang angry with me? Is Classmate Jiang angry because that girl tore up your homework because of me, and you’re taking it out on me? But Classmate Jiang knows this isn’t my fault. That girl had no grudge against me. Is it just because my family is powerful, I’m pretty, and I’m rich and influential that I’m severely targeted and isolated? But what does any of that have to do with me? This was all given by my grandparents. I’m innocent too.”
Su Lian was already extremely unwilling because she failed to achieve her goal, so she kept a close eye on Su Xianxian with her peripheral vision. Su Lian had used her pitiful face to secure the seat behind Su Xianxian.
So, everything Su Xianxian said entered Su Lian’s ears. Su Lian’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets—were those really words coming out of Su Xianxian’s mouth? When did Su Xianxian transition from being arrogant to being shameless?
Jiang Cuo clearly hadn’t anticipated Su Xianxian chirping endlessly like a joyful skylark next to her ear. The former Su Xianxian would never condescend to speak so much to her; her face was always incredibly haughty. Her gaze looked down on everyone. Her eyes seemed to say, “Scum, you don’t deserve to be alive in front of me.”
Seeing Jiang Cuo remain silent, Su Xianxian continued her bombardment. “If Classmate Jiang doesn’t speak, doesn’t that mean you’re still blaming me? I feel truly, truly guilty, and if I don’t express it, I’m afraid I’ll cause Classmate Jiang to misunderstand me, which would be terrible. Classmate Jiang is so excellent at studying and even agreed to tutor me. If Classmate Jiang changes her mind because of such a small misunderstanding… Classmate Jiang might only lose a friend like me, but what I lose is knowledge! How can I have the courage to sit next to Classmate Jiang then? How can I have the courage to enjoy all the wealth my grandparents left me? I really won’t have the courage to live on or face people.”
Jiang Cuo: “…”
Jiang Cuo stiffly turned her head, looking at Su Xianxian’s incredibly lively face.
Those round apricot eyes were red now, having transitioned from crescent-shaped smiles to tearful sorrow. Even her nose was slightly flushed from the rising and falling inflection of her voice. Su Xianxian’s fingers were even curled delicately, perfectly embodying the phrase “face wet with tears” inside and out.
Although Su Xianxian’s facial expression was like this, her overall demeanor suggested she wouldn’t stop until Jiang Cuo spoke to her.
The teacher was still lecturing, but the teacher’s attitude toward anything Su Xianxian did was to look the other way. The surrounding students were drawn in by Su Xianxian’s low whispers. Their attention converged on Su Xianxian and Jiang Cuo.
Jiang Cuo disliked attracting attention the most; she was always used to being low-key.
Jiang Cuo frowned impatiently, annoyed into submission by Su Xianxian. She lowered her clear, mature voice, which sounded slightly seductive. “I’m not blaming you. Shut up.”
Su Xianxian hadn’t heard the Trash System’s notification; how could she give up easily?
Jiang Cuo randomly increased her Disgust Value toward her, so Su Xianxian needed to make sure Jiang Cuo understood that since she hated her, she would annoy Jiang Cuo either until the Disgust Value reached positive 100 or until she didn’t dare to be bothered by her anymore.
“I know Classmate Jiang loves to say the opposite of what she means. Even though Classmate Jiang says that, she might just be humoring me. I clearly realized my mistake, so why is Classmate Jiang still blaming me?”
Jiang Cuo was so angry her teeth were itching. Why hadn’t she noticed before that Su Xianxian was so adept at being a rogue? If she moved too aggressively, she would appear petty. Su Xianxian’s shamelessness wasn’t just annoying; it was exhausting, making her flustered and irritated.
“I really am not blaming you.” Jiang Cuo ground the words out, her back teeth grating. Furthermore, whether from anger or being worn down, a faint blush appeared on her cheeks, a stark contrast to her usual pale, bloodless face.
Su Xianxian naturally wouldn’t let up so easily. Didn’t the Trash System say that contact in any form would increase the world’s fusion degree? Wasn’t physical contact the most direct way?
Su Xianxian looked overjoyed at being forgiven. She immediately reached out both hands and grabbed Jiang Cuo’s left hand, which was resting at her side.
A mischievous gleam, like a triumphant fox, flashed in Su Xianxian’s red apricot eyes. With one hand, she grabbed Jiang Cuo’s fair wrist and used a little force, pressing down on the tendons in Jiang Cuo’s wrist when she was caught off guard, forcing Jiang Cuo’s fingers to droop weakly. The other hand then took advantage of the opening, lacing their fingers together, to prevent Jiang Cuo from easily pushing her away.
The teacher, seeing the surrounding students’ attention drawn away by Su Xianxian, and not daring to scold Su Xianxian, could only pound the desk heavily with chalk to regain the students’ attention.
Jiang Cuo, as an ordinary student, no matter how good her grades were, had to listen to the teacher.
But Su Xianxian didn’t care about these virtual characters, except for Jiang Cuo, who was tied to her interests.
Su Xianxian wouldn’t stop until she achieved her goal. Seeing Jiang Cuo looking at the blackboard, she used her right hand, which was tightly gripping Jiang Cuo’s, to pull Jiang Cuo’s body toward her.
Jiang Cuo was caught off guard and almost fell onto Su Xianxian.
Su Xianxian used her shoulder to block Jiang Cuo’s head, positioning Jiang Cuo’s ear right next to her face. Whatever she whispered now, only Jiang Cuo could hear it.
“Classmate Jiang truly has a heart of stone, so cold. Because Classmate Jiang attracts so much attention, I was dragged into such a huge storm. Even though I apologized so sincerely, Classmate Jiang disdains to even look at me. That makes me terribly sad.”
Su Xianxian said this only to stall for time, waiting for the Trash System’s notification.
Jiang Cuo’s ear was filled with Su Xianxian’s warm breath. The classroom was full of students, completely different from the scene at the Su family villa yesterday. The attention of the crowd made Jiang Cuo’s heart pound as if someone was squeezing it. She was incredibly nervous, and the sensation near her ear was magnified tenfold. She could even feel the fine hairs on her ear being blown by Su Xianxian’s hot breath.
It was itchy. It was too itchy.
But she couldn’t show any unusual reaction.
This ultimate feeling of pressure and being bound in an unusual way made Jiang Cuo feel extremely suffocated, causing her to blush from the base of her neck all the way up to the top of her head. Her earlobe was so red it looked like it was bleeding.
Su Xianxian naturally noticed this.
[Trash System: Congratulations, Host, on physical contact with Jiang Cuo. The Host’s fusion degree with this system world has increased by 0.1%. Continuing contact with Jiang Cuo will continue to increase the fusion degree.]
Jiang Cuo tried to discreetly pull away, but Su Xianxian’s strength, hidden beneath her weak appearance, rebuffed her attempts.
It wasn’t until the Trash System notified her that the world fusion degree had increased by 2%, returning her total fusion degree to 15%, that Su Xianxian was satisfied and released Jiang Cuo’s tightly held hand.
As she moved away from Jiang Cuo’s ear, she mischievously brushed her lips against Jiang Cuo’s earlobe.
Jiang Cuo turned her head. Her eyes, usually cold as ice, now held a hint of moisture. Her hands were clenched into fists as if she was trying to calm a strange emotion.
Su Xianxian, slumping weakly, sprawled in her seat without regard for her image. She idly wrapped her hair around her index finger, then slightly tilted her head. She whispered, using a voice only Jiang Cuo could hear, “After an apology like that, Classmate Jiang isn’t angry anymore, right?”
Su Xianxian thought that at this point, Jiang Cuo wouldn’t respond to her, but unexpectedly, Jiang Cuo let out a low sound. The voice sounded like it was squeezed out from between her teeth, laced with shame and fury.
“What do you think.”
