Foreseeing the Future: The Scheming Movie Queen Married Me - Chapter 10
Pop. The top button of the white shirt was torn off.
The button fell to the ground, rolling a few times before coming to a stop.
Gu Shiqiu’s shirt fell half-open, revealing snow-white skin and a delicate collarbone.
“What are you doing?!” Gu Shiqiu gasped in shock, hurriedly grabbing the drunk girl’s wandering hands.
“Stripping you,” Dong Yao replied matter-of-factly. “I already apologized to you, so let go. I haven’t seen yet.”
Gu Shiqiu was left speechless. Since when does apologizing give you the right to strip someone?
Clearly, trying to reason with a little drunkard was a futile effort.
In the ensuing struggle, Dong Yao’s hands remained pinned by Gu Shiqiu. Unable to get her way, she grew frustrated. She opened her mouth and bit down hard on the back of Gu Shiqiu’s hand.
“Hiss.”
Gu Shiqiu’s brow furrowed in pain.
“Let go!” Gu Shiqiu tried to pull her hand back, but the more she pulled, the tighter the girl bit.
For a moment, they were at a complete standstill.
The commotion began to draw curious glances from people nearby.
Gu Shiqiu pursed her lips and lowered her voice: “Let go.”
Dong Yao didn’t listen at all, her teeth clamped shut.
In desperation, Gu Shiqiu softened her tone: “Be good, let go. If you let go, I’ll let you see.”
Dong Yao’s eyes blinked a few times.
“Really, I’m not lying to you,” Gu Shiqiu said.
Dong Yao was half-convinced. Finally, she released her grip. Although she stopped biting, she still gripped Gu Shiqiu’s wrist tightly, terrified the woman would run away.
Gu Shiqiu didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Actually, you don’t need to strip me to find out. I can tell you very clearly: I am a girl.”
Gu Shiqiu never imagined that one day she would have to explain her own gender.
The main problem was that after explaining… the girl still didn’t believe her.
“Liar! How could you be a girl? You’re definitely a man!” Dong Yao shouted.
Her voice was so loud that almost every passerby turned to look.
“Keep your voice down.”
“No! You’re a man!”
Gu Shiqiu was stifled. Seeing more and more people gathering, she was forced to compromise: “Fine, fine. I’m a man.”
Dong Yao grinned foolishly. “There we go.”
Gu Shiqiu: “…”
“Can you let go of my hand now?” Gu Shiqiu looked down at the back of her hand, which now bore a bloody tooth mark, and her wrist, which was being squeezed red.
Dong Yao shook her head.
Gu Shiqiu: “…”
Lin Yunyi, who had gone to the pharmacy across the street to buy hangover medicine, stepped out just in time to see a drunkard harassing someone in the distance.
She sprinted over and bowed to Gu Shiqiu in apology. “I am so sorry! My friend has had too much to drink. She doesn’t usually drink, and her tolerance is terrible. Her brain just stops working properly after alcohol. Please don’t take it personally.”
If you called Dong Yao sober, she was stripping people in the street; if you called her unconscious, she talked back immediately when someone insulted her: “You’re the one who’s not normal!”
Lin Yunyi didn’t bother arguing. She reached out to pull Dong Yao away, but Dong Yao was deathly determined to keep hold of Gu Shiqiu’s wrist. Lin Yunyi pulled several times but couldn’t budge her.
Helpless, Lin Yunyi raised her hand and—Smack!—gave Dong Yao’s arm a heavy slap.
Instantly, a large red mark appeared on the arm.
Dong Yao hissed in pain, her eyes welling up with tears.
Gu Shiqiu’s brow furrowed slightly.
Dong Yao pouted, looking incredibly pitiful, but she still wouldn’t let go of Gu Shiqiu’s hand.
Lin Yunyi’s eyes were full of threat: “Are you letting go or not?!”
Dong Yao: “No.”
Lin Yunyi raised her hand again, about to give her another smack, but as her hand went up, she felt a cool touch on her wrist.
She looked to the side. It was Gu Shiqiu, holding her wrist to stop her.
“I think it’s better to just talk to her. Don’t hit her,” Gu Shiqiu said.
Lin Yunyi froze. That voice… it sounded very familiar.
Taking a closer look at the masked woman, she felt a sense of deja vu, but she didn’t have time to worry about that now. She had to deal with this crazy drunkard first.
“Um, you might be misunderstanding. My friend is… special. In this state, reasoning with her is useless. You have to hit her. If you don’t make it hurt, she won’t let go,” Lin Yunyi explained.
Gu Shiqiu nodded but continued to block Lin Yunyi.
“Let me talk to her,” Gu Shiqiu said.
Lin Yunyi gave an awkward laugh. “Fine. If you think you can persuade her, go ahead.”
Lin Yunyi stepped back, but in her heart, she was certain Gu Shiqiu would fail. She knew all too well what kind of “drunk personality” Dong Yao had.
It was catastrophically bad!
Back in high school, Dong Yao had snuck a drink out of curiosity and ended up wasted. She had hugged a tree in the backyard, claiming it was a “money tree,” and refused to let go no matter what anyone said. In the end, it was only after Lin Yunyi used brute force—specifically, hitting her until it hurt—that Dong Yao finally let go.
The current situation was no different, except the tree had been replaced by this woman.
But since the victim didn’t want to resort to “violence,” Lin Yunyi could only let her try, even though she was sure it would end in failure.
Gu Shiqiu looked at Dong Yao’s reddened arm and asked, “Does it hurt?”
Dong Yao nodded.
“It feels bad when it hurts, right?” Gu Shiqiu asked again.
Dong Yao nodded again.
Gu Shiqiu sighed. “You’re biting me and grabbing me so hard… I’m hurting too.”
Dong Yao pouted, her gaze softening slightly.
Gu Shiqiu hesitated for a moment, then reached out and patted her head. “Alright, be good. I don’t blame you. Will you let go now?”
Dong Yao pursed her lips, looking reluctant, but Gu Shiqiu waited patiently.
Finally, she slowly loosened her grip and released Gu Shiqiu’s wrist.
Gu Shiqiu breathed a sigh of relief.
Lin Yunyi was stunned. That actually worked?!
Then what the hell was it in high school? She had spent ages coaxing her with no result, and only a beating finished the job.
As it turned out, Dong Yao wasn’t un-coaxable; it just depended on who was doing the coaxing.
Lin Yunyi was fuming. I’m not even as effective as a total stranger?
Infuriating!!!
But now wasn’t the time for anger; she had to clean up this mess for Dong Yao.
“Is the wound on your hand okay? Maybe I should take you to a hospital to get it bandaged and disinfected.” The back of the bitten hand was broken, and some blood was seeping out. It wasn’t life-threatening, but it definitely wasn’t nothing.
Gu Shiqiu shook her head. “It’s fine. No need.”
As she spoke, a black sedan pulled up beside them. A tall, sturdy man in a black suit got out. He bowed respectfully to Gu Shiqiu, walked to the back door, and opened it, waiting quietly for her to enter.
“I have things to do, so I’ll be going now,” Gu Shiqiu said.
“Oh, okay. I am so, so sorry about what just happened,” Lin Yunyi apologized once more.
Gu Shiqiu didn’t say anything. She just glanced at the girl standing there, swaying unsteadily and looking like a total fool. “Don’t let her drink anymore,” she said.
Lin Yunyi: “Yes, yes, definitely.”
Lin Yunyi shot Dong Yao a look. If she ever dared to drink again, her legs were getting broken.
Gu Shiqiu bent down into the car, and the man in the suit gently closed the door.
The black sedan gradually drove away.
Lin Yunyi let out a long sigh of relief.
Dong Yao giggled.
Hearing her laugh, Lin Yunyi’s anger flared up again. She wanted to punch her. In the two minutes it took to buy hangover meds, her friend had managed to cause such a huge scene.
Luckily, that person hadn’t pressed charges.
“Shiqiu-jie, what happened to your hand?” Xiao Wen’s sharp eyes caught the injury immediately.
Gu Shiqiu looked at the tooth marks on her hand and smiled. “Nothing much. Just got bitten by a bratty kid.”
