Giving You Dawn and Dusk - Chapter 13
After dinner, Liang Shi escorted Xu Qingya back to the hotel. She was about to transfer money to her when Xu Qingzhu stopped her.
Xu Qingzhu transferred ten thousand yuan to Xu Qingya, cautioning her not to spend it recklessly or hang out with her questionable friends.
Xu Qingya waved her hand at her. “Alright, I get it. You should hurry back.”
She even called out to Liang Shi, “Sister Liang Shi, control your wife.”
Liang Shi stood at the doorway, smiling helplessly, a hint of indulgence in her smile. “I wouldn’t dare.”
Xu Qingzhu cast a dismissive glance at her.
Those beautiful eyes carried a naturally seductive charm, looking enticing, as if flirting or feigning anger.
Liang Shi shrugged, her eyes innocent—I’m just playing along with you.
Xu Qingya rubbed her arms. “Hurry up and go. I don’t want to watch your PDA.”

Exiting the hotel, Xu Qingzhu looked exhausted.
The faint scent of strawberry liqueur wafted through the air.
Normally, Liang Shi’s sense of smell was extremely keen, but she was tired today. Since transmigrating, she had barely rested and was only running on sheer willpower.
Even so, she still caught the distinctive sweet scent.
The more premium the Omega, the better the scent.
Furthermore, pheromones have an adaptability factor; the greater the impact an Omega’s pheromones have on an Alpha, the more compatible the two pheromones are.
The blocker shot must have been wearing off, allowing the Omega’s unique scent to diffuse.
Liang Shi opened the car door for Xu Qingzhu. Once inside, Xu Qingzhu nodded slightly and quietly thanked her.
She was much more polite than before.
Liang Shi got into the car and fastened her seatbelt, glancing at Xu Qingzhu, who hadn’t fastened hers yet.
“Xu Qingzhu,” Liang Shi called out to her. “Seatbelt.”
Xu Qingzhu frowned slightly. Her straight, slender black hair hung over her shoulders, covering her beautiful shoulder blades and half her collarbone, cascading to her chest.
On the side facing Liang Shi, her fringe was neatly tucked behind her ear, revealing a small ear and a delicate jawline. However, a faint blush covered her pale cheeks, like a touch of pink blush, and thin perspiration beaded on the tip of her nose. The tiny, transparent beads of sweat refracted the light inside the car. Her lips were very red, with a dewy, pink tenderness.
She looked like a flower bud about to bloom in spring.
Still dewy with the morning mist.
Bright and tempting.
The visual effect was completely captivating at that moment.
It was hard to look away.
Liang Shi swallowed, turning her face away and taking several deep breaths while pressing the area over her heart.
After a few deep breaths, she finally managed to suppress her racing heart.
In truth, it wasn’t love.
It was likely just an appearance enthusiast’s appreciation for a beautiful woman and an involuntary moment of heart-fluttering.
Especially since this body still held traces of affection for Xu Qingzhu.
Liang Shi called out again, “Xu Qingzhu?”
Xu Qingzhu’s face flushed even deeper, and the scent of her pheromones spread throughout the car, growing heavier.
How was an Alpha supposed to withstand this?
Liang Shi sighed, took a sip of water, and calmed her mind.
She opened her window halfway, hoping the early autumn wind would help clear her head a little.
Xu Qingzhu only responded with a soft groan and a frown, but the sound was so gentle and seductive that it made the heart itch.
Liang Shi wanted to rush her to the hospital, so she leaned over to help her fasten her seatbelt.
“Excuse me,” Liang Shi said, leaning in. At that moment, the Alpha pheromones tangled with the Omega pheromones in the air, like two long-separated souls reuniting. The alluring fire was quickly ignited, and sparks seemed to crackle in the air.
Liang Shi almost lost control and pressed her entire body onto Xu Qingzhu.
Her hand, holding the seatbelt, trembled, and her fingers landed right on Xu Qingzhu’s abdomen. Just a slight move upward would reach a soft spot.
She instantly pulled back.
Her body felt like it had been set on fire.
It was the exact same feeling as last night.
But since it wasn’t the Alpha’s rut now, it wasn’t as severe as last night, and she could still hold on.
She quickly fastened Xu Qingzhu’s seatbelt as if fleeing a disaster. But the moment the buckle clicked shut, Xu Qingzhu’s cool fingers brushed against the area behind her left ear. There was a small bump there—her scent gland, the most sensitive spot during bonding with an Omega.
Xu Qingzhu’s fingertip was very soft, gently stroking Liang Shi’s scent gland.
Liang Shi felt all the strength drain from her body.
Liang Shi: “…”
“Hosp…ital,” Xu Qingzhu stammered, her fingers suddenly curling, but her fingernail scraped across Liang Shi’s scent gland.
A sharp, stinging pain.
Liang Shi even wondered if she had done it on purpose.
But she finally managed to escape, her back covered in a layer of sweat.
If this happened a few more times, she might die.
Who could withstand such provocation from “Haizhou’s Number One Omega”?
Afraid that Xu Qingzhu’s pheromones would drift outside, Liang Shi closed the window and turned on the car’s air conditioning.
Xu Qingzhu, wearing a dress, was shivering and huddled in the corner with her arms crossed. Liang Shi draped her own jacket over her.
They made the difficult journey back to the hospital.
Seeing that Xu Qingzhu was already in a semi-conscious state, with a tear of physiological response hanging in the corner of her eye, Liang Shi didn’t wake her but simply carried her into the hospital.
//
Zhao Xuning didn’t have a night shift today, but worried about Xu Qingzhu leaving the hospital, she swapped shifts with a colleague.
By ten o’clock, Xu Qingzhu still hadn’t returned. She was about to call her when she saw Liang Shi carrying Xu Qingzhu into the hospital.
The situation looked serious.
“What happened?” Zhao Xuning asked. “Didn’t you give her a blocker shot?”
“The effect wore off,” Liang Shi answered concisely.
At that moment, the scent of Omega pheromones permeated the hospital lobby, and many Alphas smelled it.
The scent was so sweet that one seriously ill Alpha fainted, causing a brief commotion.
Back in the room, Zhao Xuning gave Xu Qingzhu another shot of suppressant. After hanging an IV drip, Xu Qingzhu fell into a deep sleep.
Liang Shi stayed in her room for a while before leaving.
It was too late. Liang Shi was too tired to go back to the villa, so she returned to her own room upstairs. She checked the time; it was already eleven o’clock.
She lay on the bed, her mind quickly reviewing the long day.
Too many people had appeared, and too many things had happened.
Everyone and everything had disrupted her original life rhythm and left her feeling a little overwhelmed.
Just as she was debating whether to use amnesia as an excuse for her change or to claim a complete change of heart and turning over a new leaf, her phone’s insistent ringtone sounded again.
It made her jump.
…
I need to change this ringtone right away.
Liang Shi looked at the contact name: Madam Liang.
In other words, the original host’s current mother.
Liang Shi pressed her temples, took a deep breath, trying to dispel her exhaustion that way, and picked up the call just as the ring was about to end. “Hello?”
“My dear girl, are you asleep yet?” Qiu Zimin asked kindly.
“Not yet,” Liang Shi replied. “I was just about to.”
“Good, I hope I didn’t disturb you,” Qiu Zimin chuckled. “Mom is calling to tell you that I’ve already set up a meeting with Madam Zhou. You and An An will meet the day after tomorrow at Cangyue Restaurant to have a meal. If things go well, you can continue seeing each other.”
Liang Shi: “…?”
Why does this sound so much like an arranged blind date?
If the original host were single, she could understand. The problem was the original host was married!
“An An said she doesn’t mind your past romantic history,” Qiu Zimin said. “As long as you clean things up before you get married.”
Liang Shi: “?”
“Mom, you must be mistaken,” Liang Shi said helplessly. “I’m already married.”
“What am I mistaken about?” Qiu Zimin sounded a little angry. “If you’re married, you can get divorced. Besides, weren’t you the one who asked me to set this up? You said you didn’t like the current one and wanted to find someone new.”
Liang Shi: “…”
God, please save her.
