Holding the Sword to Carry Away Senior Sister (Transmigration) - Chapter 4
Bai Yueli had been in seclusion for two whole months, yet she had failed to break through to the Great Circle of the Opening Light Stage. While it was a pity, the path of cultivation cannot be forced, and her Dao heart remained steady.
With only half a year left until the triennial Sect Competition, Bai Yueli—as the Great Senior Sister of the Shui Ling Sect—felt the weight of her responsibility. The sect’s current overall strength was somewhat lacking.
Regardless, she wanted her sect to achieve good results. As the strongest member of the younger generation, the pressure was immense. Even though she possessed the Pure Yin Physique—a rare constitution that allowed one to achieve twice the result with half the effort—it was still not an easy path.
After emerging from seclusion, she headed down the mountain toward the Chihei Mountains for experience.
The Chihei Mountains were located to the east. Having made up her mind, she flew directly there on her sword. Along the way, she spotted an outer disciple of her sect, though she didn’t pay her much mind.
Upon reaching the mountains, Bai Yueli charged straight into the deepest part of the forest. Level 2 magical beasts often appeared here, making it the perfect place to hone her skills.
On this continent, aside from mortals and cultivators, there were powerful magical beasts. A Level 1 beast was equivalent to a Foundation Building cultivator; for the current Bai Yueli, they posed no challenge. A Level 2 beast, however, was equivalent to the Opening Light Stage. The stronger ones could even rival the Great Circle of Opening Light, making them a force to be reckoned with.
After entering the depths, she encountered several ordinary Level 2 beasts and dispatched them one by one.
It wasn’t until the second day that she encountered a Scarlet-Blood Python in a cave. An adult Scarlet-Blood Python’s strength was comparable to the peak of the Late Opening Light Stage. Bai Yueli didn’t dare lower her guard. After a fierce battle lasting over a hundred rounds, she finally managed to kill it.
Usually, rare treasures are found where powerful beasts dwell. After killing the python, she searched the cave thoroughly.
Sure enough, she soon discovered a Star-Soul Grass, a rare medicinal herb. It could be exchanged back at the sect for some low-grade spirit stones, so she tucked it into her storage ring.
Just as she was about to leave, she felt something was off. Star-Soul Grass was good, but it wasn’t enough to make a Scarlet-Blood Python defend this spot to the death.
She turned back and searched again. Soon, she found a discrepancy behind the stone wall at the front of the cave. Realizing there was a secret, she struck it with her sword. With a loud bang, a hidden chamber was revealed.
Once she saw what was inside, she had a realization.
In the cave was a small Cleansing Pool. This was a rare treasure that might only appear once in a century.
A Cleansing Pool helps a cultivator temper the impurities out of their body, thereby enhancing their natural aptitude. It was a treasure one could seek but rarely find.
However, looking at the pool, Bai Yueli sighed. Unfortunately, the Cleansing Pool was only useful to those at the Foundation Building stage. For a cultivator like her who had already opened her Qi Sea, it was useless. Furthermore, as a Pure Yin Physique, her aptitude was already top-tier.
“So the Scarlet-Blood Python intended to use the pool to temper itself. It might have even had a chance to break through to Level 3. But once a Cleansing Pool is exposed, it evaporates naturally within a day. What a waste,” Bai Yueli muttered, shaking her head.
Since she couldn’t take the pool with her, she prepared to leave. The battle with the python had left her True Qi somewhat turbulent; it was only a matter of time before she reached the Great Circle of Opening Light.
The trip to the Chihei Mountains had been quite fruitful.
She exited the deep forest, planning to find a place to rest for the night before returning to the sect in the morning. She decided to head to Heiquan Town, but halfway there, she stumbled upon a life-and-death struggle.
To her surprise, the person fleeing was the same junior sister she had seen briefly while descending the mountain.
It was the same Fu Yan who had been doing that strange dance in the ruined temple.
Bai Yueli had been observing from the moment they left Heiquan Town. She had watched with her own eyes as a mere 9th Layer Foundation Building disciple managed to severely wound an Opening Light opponent.
Though she had used external help and the opponent had only recently broken through, that level of courage was rare. Ultimately, Fu Yan’s aptitude was just too poor; Bai Yueli knew that if Fu Yan were also in the Opening Light stage, she would have killed the man easily.
But Fu Yan was only at the 9th Layer.
The chase ended when Fu Yan collapsed. Seeing a fellow Shui Ling Sect disciple in mortal danger, Bai Yueli naturally wouldn’t stand by. She struck swiftly, killing the man in black with a single sword strike.
After landing, she claimed the man’s storage bag. A quick glance showed only some common herbs and low-level martial arts manuals—nothing great, but enough to trade for spirit stones. Spirit stones were the essential currency of the cultivation world.
Having finished, she prepared to leave. As for the unconscious Fu Yan, she didn’t have any further plans; saving her life at the critical moment was help enough. The path of cultivation is full of danger; life or death depends on one’s own luck.
However, just as she mounted her sword, she thought of the Cleansing Pool in the cave. Her gaze fell back onto the unconscious Fu Yan.
After hesitating for a long moment, Bai Yueli sighed. “Forget it. We have some affinity, and we are both disciples of Shui Ling Sect. As your Senior Sister, I shall grant you this opportunity. As for the road ahead, that will be up to you.”
She picked up the unconscious Fu Yan and turned back toward the depths of the forest.
Weak-Bone Powder wasn’t highly toxic; it merely caused the victim to lose consciousness for a short time and left the body limp and powerless.
Soon, Fu Yan began to wake up in a daze.
Watching the trees blur past, she didn’t quite react. By the time her head stopped spinning, she realized she was being carried.
No doubt about it—it had to be that beastly thief.
Fu Yan was suffering in silence. To think that after two lifetimes of brilliance, she would fall at the hands of a low-life thief. Since she had no strength, she didn’t move. She continued to feign unconsciousness, waiting for a chance to escape.
Soon, Bai Yueli arrived at the cave.
Seeing the Cleansing Pool was still there, she smiled slightly. She set Fu Yan aside and checked the pool one last time.
Confirming everything was fine, she turned to the girl on the ground. With her cultivation, she had long since realized Fu Yan was awake, but she didn’t bother to expose her little trick.
Fu Yan, eyes tightly shut, was wondering how to escape when she felt the “thief” walk up to her.
Forget it, I can’t keep acting!
She snapped her eyes open.
Bai Yueli habitually used True Essence to blur her facial features. In Fu Yan’s eyes, although the person had changed clothes, it was still that bastard thief. After all, she had blown the thief’s original clothes to tatters earlier.
“What do you want?” Fu Yan stared coldly at Bai Yueli. If looks could kill, the other person would have died a thousand times.
Bai Yueli said nothing.
Though talking tough was useless, Fu Yan saw no other way out. “If you dare touch a single hair on my head today, I will tear you into ten thousand pieces!”
Hearing this, Bai Yueli let out a low chuckle. This junior sister was quite interesting.
However, she didn’t bother to explain. She drew her sword and pointed it at Fu Yan.
Seeing the sharp tip, Fu Yan wasn’t particularly afraid—as long as the thief didn’t plan to humiliate her. Perhaps if she died, she would just go back to her original world.
“Kill me if you’re going to.”
Fu Yan gave up. She really had no chance of escape. Before she died, she might as well show some spine.
But in the next second…
Fu Yan watched as the other person’s sword flicked out and severed her belt.
“…”
In an instant, Fu Yan felt like her head was going to explode. Just as she was about to unleash a torrent of curses, Bai Yueli used her sword to slice away her outer robe. A second later, Fu Yan was picked up and tossed directly into the water.
Splash!
“You—” Fu Yan’s words were cut short as her body sank. All she could hear was the gurgling of water in her ears.
She didn’t know how to swim!!
