How Long Are You Going to Keep Acting Like A Beta? ABO - Chapter 1
On a rainy winter day, a gust of cold wind mixed with damp air blew by. Despite wearing her warmest clothes, Shu Qian’s thin frame trembled slightly from the cold. She stared at the sign for the “Public Physiological Health Center” and felt a wave of confusion and despair, unable to bring herself to go inside.
But she couldn’t put it off any longer. Her body was fully matured, and due to the long-term use of inhibitors to suppress her instincts and the use of illicit drugs to disguise her gender, the doctor had been blunt: if she couldn’t find an Alpha to meet her physiological needs, her pheromones would gradually spin out of control.
This loss of control could lead to one of two outcomes: either she would be in heat all year round, or she would lose her Omega identity.
Losing her Omega identity was secondary. Being in a perpetual state of heat was an outcome Shu Qian was absolutely not willing to face.
Gritting her teeth, Shu Qian stepped into the health center.
After checking in at the front desk, she sat in a chair, waiting for the staff to confirm her information.
She had registered her data online half a month ago, and the government would directly use the database to match her with the most suitable single partner.
Most Alphas or Omegas who chose to register were single individuals who didn’t want to get married. However, they had issues with physiological imbalances and could only rely on the national gene bank for a match. At the very least, this matching result wouldn’t change until one of the parties got married.
So, Shu Qian thought wistfully, it was basically a long-term bed partner assigned by the government.
“Alright, here’s your match information.” The staff member handed her a piece of paper with the Alpha’s information already written on it.
To protect privacy, there was no real name, only a personal nickname. Shu Qian quickly scanned the Alpha’s health status and was surprised to see that it was a female Alpha, raising an eyebrow. While it wasn’t sexism, female Alphas usually preferred male Omegas…
At least it was a woman, Shu Qian could tell herself. A woman’s body was softer…
“Thank you.” After taking the information, she navigated to a high-end hotel using the address provided. Shu Qian felt a little uneasy when she saw the hotel name, but it was too late to back out. She mustered her courage, got the key from the special counter, went straight up to the 15th floor, found the room number on the card, swiped it, and opened the door.
The sudden rush of Alpha pheromones almost made Shu Qian’s legs give out.
“You’re here.” In the dimly lit room, a low, soft female voice spoke. A pair of desire-filled eyes stared at the Omega standing at the door. After a moment, she seemed to accept this absurd but necessary choice. “He Shen?”
Shu Qian subconsciously stepped into the room and closed the door, only then realizing what she had done, but she had already cut off her own retreat. Hearing the person call out “He Shen,” her mind, which was slowing down, remembered that was her anonymous name. She hummed in response.
The Alpha, like a leopard patrolling its territory, advanced toward her, allowing Shu Qian to get a clear look at her face. Her pupils slightly widened in recognition.
Her foggy mind, which had been clouded by the Alpha’s strong floral pheromones, suddenly cleared as if she had just smelled peppermint oil. Why was it Qi Qing? Her top boss.
She had been matched with her company’s big boss?
So, this situation meant she was here for free overtime?
The moment this existential question for a working stiff popped into her mind, Shu Qian instantly wanted to go home. But before she could act, she was pinned against the wall by the Alpha, who had let go of her inhibitions, her eyes flushed with desire.
Looking at the Omega who was much smaller than her, Qi Qing lowered her head and whispered into Shu Qian’s ear in a seductive voice, “Let’s take a shower first.”
Without waiting for Shu Qian to refuse or answer, she wrapped her arm around her and led her directly into the bathroom.
Most people who chose to register for a match did so to satisfy their physiological needs and prevent their pheromones from going out of control, without the burden of too many emotions. Qi Qing naturally thought the same.
She just didn’t expect the Omega who showed up to be so satisfying—a perfect long-term bed partner.
So perfect, in fact, that she could no longer suppress her desires. The rich floral scent directly enticed the Omega, whom she had just met and not even spoken a word to, into a state of heat.
