I Heard I Was the Scumbag Alpha of a Top-Tier Celebrity (GL) - Chapter 6
Gu Xin led Yan Shuangshuang back to the elevator lobby. After confirming the camera couldn’t reach them, she finally let go of Yan Shuangshuang.
“I’ll go out and deal with this.” Gu Xin opened her phone and sent a string of numbers to Yan Shuangshuang’s WeChat. “I changed the password last night. It’s 363104.”
Receiving the message, Yan Shuangshuang suddenly snapped awake, as if abruptly pulled back to cold reality from an unknown beautiful dream. The air in the elevator lobby was cool; the only warmth seemed to come from Gu Xin’s words.
Gu Xin thought she was startled, so she patted her shoulder reassuringly and turned to leave.
Yan Shuangshuang watched Gu Xin’s back, pressed the up button, and stepped into the elevator.
The memory was too beautiful, making everything that followed seem so cruel. Is a person’s change sudden, or is it accumulated over time? Yan Shuangshuang couldn’t answer. A mix of melancholy and regret washed over her. Yan Shuangshuang listlessly entered the password.
After entering the last key, Yan Shuangshuang suddenly felt that this string of numbers was very familiar.

The short period of time was enough for the lurking paparazzo to realize he had been discovered. When Gu Xin came out, the paparazzo stood brazenly in the middle of the road.
Seeing Gu Xin hurrying, he casually raised his hand and greeted her: “Hi.”
Few people knew that Gu Xin had a pair of sharp eyebrows. When the gentleness was removed from her face, those fierce eyebrows had an incredibly obvious presence, making anyone who saw them feel a tremor in their heart.
Gu Xin walked over and reached out her hand without ceremony: “Hand it over.”
The paparazzo’s camera was on his chest. He wore a cynical smile on his face, speaking in an exaggerated manner: “Oh, miss, you must be mistaken. This is my camera, not yours.”
Gu Xin gave a rare laugh, though her smile was full of endless mockery: “Playing dumb in front of me? You are mistaken. I am informing you, not discussing.”
Even though Gu Xin looked fierce, the words “harmless” were written all over her. The paparazzo judged she must be a Beta, because Alphas and Omegas in a rage can’t control their pheromones.
Someone like Yan Shuangshuang could indeed only find a Beta. After all, only Betas, who are famously insensitive, could endure Yan Shuangshuang’s aggressive Omega pheromones.
While calculating how much he could earn from selling this scoop and how much traffic would flood in, the paparazzo casually provoked her: “Playing dumb? Miss, you’re the one playing dumb, aren’t you? What do you want by blocking me? Illegal detention?”
A dominating pheromone scent instantly rushed toward the paparazzo’s face the moment he finished speaking. Everyone’s pheromones are unique. Even if the scent is similar, the feeling a pheromone gives often represents the person’s deepest character.
Gu Xin’s pheromones were unexpectedly ferocious. Flowers are normally beautiful things, but now the rich floral scent mercilessly stabbed the person across from her like a knife. The pheromones precisely ambushed the paparazzo’s face, forming a dome over his head in the air, a cruel posture suggesting she wanted to strangle him within the flower petals.
The paparazzo was caught off guard. His five senses were temporarily knocked out. When he regained consciousness, the camera in his arms was already in the hands of the person opposite him.
Gu Xin took the camera, fumbled with it slightly, and quickly understood its operation. She immediately started scrolling through the photos.
The camera hadn’t captured Yan Shuangshuang’s face, but it had many ambiguous side-profile shots of her coming out with Gu Xin.
There was no concrete evidence, but such photos were enough for the paparazzo to speculate wildly and cause trouble.
Gu Xin scrolled quickly, skipping ahead to earlier dates.
The paparazzo was furious, thinking she was deleting photos, and reached out to snatch it back: “You’re an Alpha?! It’s illegal to casually use pheromones in a public space!”
Gu Xin moved her feet, easily dodging the paparazzo’s hand. She realized this paparazzo specialized in following Yan Shuangshuang, especially recently, almost every day. Various images of Yan Shuangshuang slid past her eyes—clear ones, blurry ones, ones Gu Xin had seen and ones she hadn’t.
She quickly finished flipping through hundreds of photos. In the last two seconds, Gu Xin directly pulled out the memory card—and snapped it in half.
In a beautiful freeze-frame, Gu Xin shoved the camera into the paparazzo’s outstretched hand: “Thank you for your cooperation.”
The paparazzo’s hand happened to be raised in front of Gu Xin. A heavy object was pushed into his empty palm, and he almost dropped it.
Gu Xin took a step back and kindly reminded him: “This is your livelihood; you should take good care of it.”
The paparazzo slowly retracted his hand and wiped away sweat. The sun was intense today, and ambushing a residential area in this heat was indeed hard work. He watched his labor be destroyed, his face frighteningly dark, but he quickly remembered something and recovered his bright demeanor.
“What’s the use of breaking it now? Everything that needed to be uploaded was uploaded this morning.”
“Mhm.” Gu Xin reached out and threw the memory card fragments into the nearby trash can, her tone light. “It’s just to make you work for nothing today.”
The paparazzo finally broke down. He pointed at Gu Xin and shouted in anger: “As an Alpha, using pheromones to attack a citizen and destroying private property at will is breaking the law!”
Gu Xin found it a little baffling: “You’re a paparazzo, taking pictures of other people’s privacy, and you’re talking to me about breaking the law?”
The paparazzo sneered: “So you admit to attacking me with pheromones?”
“How strange. Who attacked you? Do you have a witness? Do you have physical evidence?”
Just as the paparazzo was about to speak, he suddenly realized that the pheromones, which had been so thick they were suffocating, had vanished without a trace.
… That level of control!
“Fine, fine! Consider me unlucky, I ran into a tough opponent. You and Yan Shuangshuang are truly birds of a feather, well done.” The paparazzo made a snapping gesture at his neck. “We’ll see each other again!”
Gu Xin smiled sweetly: “You’ll follow me first. This is a private community. How did you get in?”

When Gu Xin returned, it was over an hour later. Yan Shuangshuang was looking at the potted plants on her balcony.
“This pothos of yours is almost dried up.” The soil in the pot was cracked. Yan Shuangshuang smoothed her long, hanging hair. “Where’s the watering can? I’ll water it for you.”
Gu Xin said while changing her shoes: “I’m not good at taking care of them. Instead of letting them continue to suffer with me, it’s better to end it once and for all now.”
“You’re going to give them away?”
“I’m going to throw them away, of course.” After putting a bag of inhibitors in the refrigerator, Gu Xin sat on a chair facing Yan Shuangshuang, uncharacteristically licking her lips nervously. “I memorized the paparazzo’s face and sent him to the security office, but they definitely aren’t working alone. When I came out, I heard him talking to someone on the phone. If you go out now, you’ll likely be targeted by his accomplices.”
Yan Shuangshuang was startled. She looked at Gu Xin’s reluctant expression and felt a strange feeling well up inside her.
“You…” What did she mean?
Gu Xin didn’t hear the single syllable that left Yan Shuangshuang’s moving lips. She was too busy anxiously staring at the floor: “So, if you don’t mind, you can stay at my place for a couple of days. The decor isn’t great, but it’s clean. And, um, you don’t have to worry about anything else. I bought inhibitors; they’re in the fridge. If you have any, cough, symptoms, you can inject me anytime.”
