Married the Second Generation Fox Demon with a Baby in a Flash Marriage - Chapter 29
Ye Xinyu’s silk pajamas felt cool and smooth to the touch, and beneath the fabric, Hu Mengmeng could feel skin that was even softer and more tender than the silk itself.
It was soft yet resilient, carrying a faint, pleasant floral scent. Just holding her like this made Hu Mengmeng’s heart race. She felt a sudden, restless urge to tear the pajamas away and explore every inch of her with her hands.
“You’re breaking the agreement! Don’t force me to turn you into a Contracted Demon!” Ye Xinyu struggled. Without any tools or talismans at hand, she would have to circulate her spiritual energy and use a technique to truly break free.
But being held by Hu Mengmeng, surrounded by those soft tails, meant being enveloped 360 degrees by the fox’s bloodline. The little thing in her belly was leaping with joy, its fluctuations never-ending. Ye Xinyu felt miserable; physically, she craved Hu Mengmeng’s touch as before, but mentally, she couldn’t accept it. She was furious—at herself and at Hu Mengmeng.
“Ye Xinyu, earlier I was truly just helping you stabilize the fetus and aid your digestion. But what did you think? You even used the word ‘filthy.’ That made me very angry. You have a prejudice against me in your heart, don’t you? If I actually used the fox demon methods from my memory, you wouldn’t last a second,” Hu Mengmeng whispered, her lips almost brushing Ye Xinyu’s ear. Her breath tickled, turning the earlobe a deep red.
A tingling sensation, like a numbing electric current, traveled from her ear to her scalp and flooded her entire body. Ye Xinyu’s strength vanished, and she slumped against the fox.
Hu Mengmeng’s eerie red pupils stared at Ye Xinyu. One hand remained on her abdomen, while the fingertip of her other hand pressed against the Baliao acupoint near the base of Ye Xinyu’s spine.
Spiritual energy intertwined from both points. Ye Xinyu shivered sensitively, caught in the middle, and instantly felt lost. She bit the tip of her tongue and let out a muffled groan. Her eyes flickered with a golden light as her slender fingers tried to trace a golden seal-script in the air like plucking a lute string.
“Sister Ye, do you really hate me touching you so much? Do you find me filthy? I’ve only been a fox demon for two months. I’ve kept myself clean. In this life, I’ve only been close to you, and I only want to be close to you… do you really hate me that much?” Hu Mengmeng whispered low.
Ye Xinyu felt an unspeakable sadness spread through her. The Hu Mengmeng before her was filled with sorrow, her eyes looking as if they were about to overflow with tears. Ye Xinyu felt a wave of empathy, as if she were being infected by Hu Mengmeng’s emotions.
That word “filthy”—she hadn’t really meant Hu Mengmeng. It was just a harsh word used in a moment of extreme anger. The fox clan’s mysterious charm arts and various bewitching spells used in the human world were all designed for pleasure, to provide physical joy to achieve their goals. Hu Mengmeng’s words and the emotions she projected made Ye Xinyu feel a deep sense of guilt.
Had all her worries over the past half-day been mere assumptions? Was she forcing the wicked deeds of demons she had met in the past onto Hu Mengmeng and the innocent little thing in her belly?
The golden light in Ye Xinyu’s eyes faded, and the hand seal she was forming dissolved. Her gaze became even cloudier as the sensations she had just resisted surged back twice as strong. Her blush deepened, and her lips parted slightly as she let out a low moan, revealing teeth like white jade and the tip of a pink tongue.
Hu Mengmeng’s lips curled into a slight smirk, thinking she had successfully lured Ye Xinyu into her trap. But after her gaze lingered on Ye Xinyu’s face for just a second, her own eyes darkened. Like two balls of fire, her gaze locked onto Ye Xinyu’s features.
Ye Xinyu’s hands moved instinctively to hug Hu Mengmeng. Her lips parted, and a soft, honeyed moan escaped her. Before Hu Mengmeng could react, Ye Xinyu pulled her head down, and their lips met.
One was cool, the other warm; they were like the North and South poles, naturally attracting each other with a magnetic force. They pressed together so tightly there was no gap, wanting only to be closer.
Hu Mengmeng’s hand continued its rhythmic massage, her two hands creating a circulating field of spiritual energy. A moment later, Ye Xinyu, who had been lying limp in Hu Mengmeng’s arms, suddenly tensed. Her teeth nipped Hu Mengmeng’s lip. A few seconds later, her body went soft again, her lips released their grip, and she panted for air.
Hu Mengmeng felt a sting on her lip and snapped back to reality. She smelled an unusual fragrance and looked at Ye Xinyu, seeing her face flushed an abnormal crimson. Her vivid lips were parted, her half-closed eyes were filled with shimmering moisture, and her chest rose and fell heavily against Hu Mengmeng’s.
Hu Mengmeng didn’t move. She stared at Ye Xinyu, her own body trembling and screaming for more. She couldn’t put it into words, but she felt as though Ye Xinyu was inviting her, making her heart ache with desire.
Slap!
Just as Hu Mengmeng moved, she felt a sting on her cheek. Ye Xinyu had slapped her.
“Hu Mengmeng… don’t you go too far!” Ye Xinyu gasped. Though her voice was full of anger, it was also laced with a soft, lingering sweetness. She was dying of embarrassment. To be manipulated by Hu Mengmeng’s charm and then to actually… indulge… it was shameful.
“How am I being ‘too far’? You were the one who held my head and kissed me! Are you blaming me now? I haven’t even used my strong techniques yet and you’re already like this. If a fox demon is pregnant, her body becomes exceptionally sensitive—even more than during a mating season. Even my simple touch makes you think I’m using fox magic to flirt with you, doesn’t it? Why can’t you just follow your heart? You don’t have to be polite with me,” Hu Mengmeng smirked, her tongue poking the inside of her cheek where she’d been hit. Ye Xinyu certainly had some strength.
Ye Xinyu was speechless. She looked at Hu Mengmeng with peak irritation, but her body was being utterly uncooperative. She felt as though she shouldn’t have kept this child, shouldn’t have signed a marriage agreement with Hu Mengmeng—she had truly let a wolf into her home.
The “vixen” version of Hu Mengmeng wasn’t cute at all; she was a bully!
Ye Xinyu struggled with all her might. A sharp pain shot through her abdomen, making her gasp. A sob caught in her throat, her body began to shake, and the rims of her eyes turned red.
“Does it hurt? Don’t move,” Hu Mengmeng said, her heart aching as she saw Ye Xinyu like this. She moved to stabilize the fetus again, but Ye Xinyu pushed her away.
“We’re getting a divorce tomorrow. You violated the agreement! I don’t want this child anymore either!” Ye Xinyu said with her eyes closed, refusing to let Hu Mengmeng touch her.
“Ye Xinyu, how can you say that?! That’s so irresponsible! You…” Hu Mengmeng wanted to scold her, but seeing Ye Xinyu in such pain, she couldn’t bring herself to do it. She remembered what Su Mingli said about pregnant people being emotionally unstable. Regardless of who started it, the pregnant person was the priority.
“Is that really what you want? Do you truly want to give it up?” Hu Mengmeng asked in a softened voice.
Ye Xinyu kept her eyes closed and remained silent, her lashes trembling slightly. Hu Mengmeng reached out and slowly took Ye Xinyu’s wrist, moving her protective hands away from her belly and covering the spot herself. This time, Ye Xinyu didn’t resist as violently.
“If you’re in pain, it means the little one is uncomfortable. It’s protesting. I was wrong just now, I’m sorry. I admit my mistake. I shouldn’t have argued with you. But when you said I was ‘filthy,’ it made me very angry. We were both wrong, right? Though, my mistake was bigger. It’s all on me. Sister Ye, don’t be angry anymore. It’s bad for your body, and bad for the little guy,” Hu Mengmeng murmured as she used her energy to soothe the child.
Ye Xinyu opened her eyes halfway. Seeing Hu Mengmeng’s obedient apology and hearing her soft, pleasing voice, she couldn’t tell if the girl was acting or being sincere. Once her abdomen felt better, she stopped Hu Mengmeng.
“I’m better now. You don’t need to do anymore. Go to sleep,” Ye Xinyu said, suppressing her emotions.
“Alright. Rest well. I won’t disturb you anymore. Remember to call me if you need anything,” Hu Mengmeng said. She retracted her hands and her tails, got up, and pulled the covers over Ye Xinyu.
After Hu Mengmeng left, Ye Xinyu took another shower, changed her pajamas, and lay back down. She stayed awake for a long time, her mind clearing. Her emotions had indeed been unstable—she had felt out of control. Saying things like “filthy,” “divorce,” or “don’t want the baby” was just lash-out anger.
But Hu Mengmeng was truly infuriating! The fox clan’s methods were so powerful she had fallen for them so easily. I’ll have a proper talk with her tomorrow.
Hu Mengmeng couldn’t sleep in her own room. Her mind was filled with the sensation of Ye Xinyu’s skin, her scent, and that vivid, beautiful face. Someone so cold looking so beautiful when moved… it was a sight to behold. Recalling it now, every detail felt intoxicating.
Soon, Hu Mengmeng’s face was flushed like a peach blossom. She licked her lips and felt a sense of regret. Such a wonderful person was a demon hunter—she could probably only ever think about it.
She remained slightly wary of Ye Xinyu, fearing the woman might use some trick to bind her in a contract. But when her fox bloodline was sealed, her human form was safe—contracts only worked on demons, not humans.
The first night after getting their certificate passed like that.
The next morning, Ye Xinyu was already up when Hu Mengmeng woke. Ye Xinyu usually did morning exercises, but since her body was currently unfit for intense movement, she focused on meditation to absorb spiritual energy.
Hu Mengmeng washed up and made breakfast. “Are you still angry? I apologize again for yesterday. If we get along peacefully, it’s better for both of us and the little one,” she said, looking at the cold-faced Ye Xinyu.
“I was wrong too. I’m sorry. My mood has been poor. What I said yesterday… wasn’t my true intent,” Ye Xinyu sighed.
“That’s good. I was only acting out because you made me mad. I’m not a loose person; if I didn’t like someone, I wouldn’t touch them, let alone use fox charm,” Hu Mengmeng said.
“If it weren’t for my physical condition, I would never have let you succeed!” Ye Xinyu glared at her.
“My fault. Let’s just turn the page, okay? We’ll follow the agreement from now on.” Hu Mengmeng raised her hands in surrender.
Ye Xinyu hummed and ignored her, heading to the dining table. After a few bites, she put her chopsticks down.
“Do you still have no appetite?” Hu Mengmeng asked.
“I don’t want to eat. I feel full.”
“There’s no way you’re full on that. Do you know where to buy spiritual fruits?”
“Spiritual fruits? Apparently, demons have their own trade fairs in the human world; there might be some there. If a human eats a spiritual fruit and can’t digest it, it becomes a burden and causes harm. Unless it’s used in medicine or someone has a special way to digest it, ordinary people don’t buy them. You have to get them through demons who have legal residency,” Ye Xinyu explained.
Plants that absorb spiritual energy were rare and mostly grew in deep mountains where demons gathered. Most spiritual fruits in the human world came from there. Because the human world’s energy was polluted and lacked spiritual hotspots, such plants usually died within days or reverted to normal plants if transplanted.
“I’ll find a way to buy some. Maybe it’ll help your appetite,” Hu Mengmeng said. She planned to ask her counselor, Shen Yuexi. Since Shen had been in human society for a long time, she might know something.
Hu Mengmeng had classes, but Ye Xinyu was a senior and had a light schedule, so she stayed at the villa to rest.
“Sister Ye, I’m going to class. Call me if you need anything. And… I’m sorry again for yesterday,” Hu Mengmeng said embarrassedly. In her human form, she had returned to being a “pure and cute” dork. Ye Xinyu found this version much more endearing.
“Go to class,” Ye Xinyu said coolly.
After her morning lectures, Hu Mengmeng went to find Shen Yuexi. However, she ran into Lin Yuanya and Gu Mingzhen.
“Hu Mengmeng, can we find a place to talk?” Lin Yuanya asked.
“Sure. Where to?” Hu Mengmeng agreed. She had intended to return the bell to Lin Yuanya anyway; this was perfect timing.
“The book cafe in the East Campus. There are private rooms where we can talk easily,” Lin Yuanya suggested.
