Married the Second Generation Fox Demon with a Baby in a Flash Marriage - Chapter 43
“I didn’t mean it that way. I just wanted to know her whereabouts. Do you know where she might have gone?” Hu Mengmeng said hurriedly.
“Little Fox, if you didn’t mean it that way, why do you keep asking about her? Am I not good enough? If you don’t like my fox body, I’ll just turn into a human.” Shen Yuexi said with a hint of resentment, her fox form shifting into a completely naked human!
“Put a blanket on before you speak!” Hu Mengmeng quickly averted her eyes.
“Oh? Little Fox, don’t tell me you’re still a virgin? You’re so shy!” Shen Yuexi teased with a laugh.
“Shen Yuexi, don’t mess around. She is my contracted demon.” Before Hu Mengmeng could say another word, Ye Xinyu lifted the door curtain from the adjacent room and walked in, her voice cold and indifferent.
Hearing Ye Xinyu’s words, Hu Mengmeng completely forgot about the awkwardness Shen Yuexi was causing her. Sister Ye said she didn’t want me as her contracted demon before—does she want me now?
Hu Mengmeng, who originally would rather have died than become a human’s servant, was now ecstatic. She looked at Ye Xinyu with eyes that seemed to sparkle like stars.
“Ye Xinyu?!” Shen Yuexi looked at her warily, pulling the hospital bed’s blanket over herself for cover. Even a demon with legal status had no fondness for demon hunters.
Ye Xinyu says the Little Fox is her contracted demon? This little fox just came out of the mountains and was already snatched up by a hunter? How detestable!
“She is my contracted demon; you’d better not get any ideas. Now, what’s the deal with that demon called Hu Qingqing? You can’t possibly be unaware of the incident with the five girls at school. If you shield a demon like that, you’ll be charged as well!” Ye Xinyu’s gaze was icy and stern as she questioned Shen Yuexi. The sheer pressure of her aura made Hu Mengmeng steal a few glances; she realized that Ye Xinyu had actually been quite gentle with her until now.
“I only know Hu Qingqing through a senior of our tribe I met a long time ago. I have no real connection to her; her cultivation method isn’t the same as mine. I have no idea why she came here this time or why she’s causing harm everywhere. She even claimed she left my fur at the crime scenes to frame me. I wouldn’t ruin my life after cultivating for so many years. As for where she might go, I don’t know. She’s in heat—she can’t just solve it with medicine like I can. She’ll likely find a woman first. And she isn’t picky, but she wants high quality—ideally a virgin to harvest ‘Primal Yin’ for her cultivation. Just look at those five girls and you’ll know.” Shen Yuexi watched Ye Xinyu’s expression grow visibly grim. She clearly had no love for Ye Xinyu, but she was wary of her.
“If I find out you’re hiding anything, you know the consequences,” Ye Xinyu stated.
“Hmph, what would I hide? I want to keep living here,” Shen Yuexi snapped.
“What’s her cultivation level? How many tails does she have?” Ye Xinyu asked.
“Hu Qingqing has five tails. She’s no ordinary Great Demon and has plenty of tricks up her sleeve. For the Little Fox’s safety, if you plan to catch her, you’d better be prepared,” Shen Yuexi warned.
“None of your concern!” Ye Xinyu tossed back, then looked at Hu Mengmeng. “Let’s go!”
Hu Mengmeng had six tails, though the sixth wasn’t fully grown yet. Theoretically, her cultivation was higher than Hu Qingqing’s, but they wouldn’t be careless. A hundred-year-old fox would certainly have far more tricks than a young fox like Hu Mengmeng.
“We’re leaving now!” Hu Mengmeng called out to Shen Yuexi and quickly followed Ye Xinyu out.
Shen Yuexi gritted her teeth in frustration. I finally found a pure little fox, only for her to be claimed as a hunter’s servant! How infuriating!
After fuming for a moment, Shen Yuexi thought: Being a contracted demon isn’t the same as being a partner. If a contracted demon goes into heat, the master has to help find a mate, right? Can a contracted demon not have sex with another demon? What’s the problem? Why can’t I have designs on her?!
Shen Yuexi calmed down, a smile playing on her lips.
Naturally, Hu Mengmeng and the others had no idea what Shen Yuexi was plotting.
“Sister, can I really be your contracted demon now?” Hu Mengmeng asked in a small voice once they were outside.
“No!” Ye Xinyu turned to glance at her, let out a cold snort, and ignored her, quickening her pace.
Hu Mengmeng shivered under that look and trotted to keep up.
“Don’t walk so fast, it’s not good for your body,” Hu Mengmeng said after catching up, carefully guiding Ye Xinyu down the steps.
“What Teacher Shen said just now… that was her own doing! I have nothing to do with her! I only bought spiritual fruit from her and met her twice, I swear!” Hu Mengmeng explained herself, undergoing a period of self-reflection.
Ye Xinyu didn’t speak. Her brow was furrowed, and her fast pace was indeed taxing on her current condition; after a few steps, she felt a wave of discomfort. She slowed down and headed toward her car.
Hu Mengmeng saw the cold aura radiating from her and remained silent for the moment.
Once they got into the car, Ye Xinyu took a few sips of water. As she set the cup down, she saw Hu Mengmeng pull down the car’s partition. Hu Mengmeng shifted into her little fox form, looking up at Ye Xinyu with an expression of pure grievance, her clothes left in a heap on the seat.
“Change back!” Ye Xinyu commanded. Instead, Hu Mengmeng hopped onto Ye Xinyu’s lap, snuggling into her embrace and wagging her tail while looking up.
“Sister, don’t be angry. What did I do wrong? I’m just a stupid fox who only knows how to make you mad without knowing why,” Hu Mengmeng said, rubbing her head against Ye Xinyu’s hand.
Ye Xinyu moved her hand away. Hu Mengmeng looked like she was on the verge of tears, her large amber-red eyes reflecting Ye Xinyu’s cold and distant face.
Ye Xinyu felt as if her heart had been struck by something soft; the knot of irritation inside her was knocked loose. She sighed, her open hand hovering over Hu Mengmeng’s head before finally resting on it.
She knew perfectly well that nothing was going on between Hu Mengmeng and Shen Yuexi, but she was inexplicably angry. Angry at the way Shen Yuexi addressed Hu Mengmeng, angry at Hu Mengmeng’s attitude toward her, and angry that Shen Yuexi actually dared to say those things to her!
Normally, when she was angry, she wouldn’t say a word. She would just ignore the person—ignore them forever. Un-sootheable.
But with Hu Mengmeng acting like this, how could she ignore her? If she didn’t spell it out, would this girl ever understand?
“I’m telling you: ‘Little Fox’ is the name I gave you. Only I am allowed to call you that! Also, don’t call Shen Yuexi ‘Sister’ ever again! Do you understand?” Ye Xinyu said with a stern face, picking Hu Mengmeng up by her armpits.
“Yes, yes, I’ve got it!” Hu Mengmeng saw her severe tone and tense expression and nodded hurriedly.
Hearing this, Hu Mengmeng realized Ye Xinyu was indeed angry about Shen Yuexi—angry about the nature of their relationship. Is this the ‘possessive streak’ Gu Yiying mentioned?
“The title ‘Sister’—I will only call you that from now on. And only you can call me ‘Little Fox’!” Hu Mengmeng felt she had reached an epiphany and spoke to Ye Xinyu in a pleasing tone. She watched as Ye Xinyu’s expression gradually softened.
Ye Xinyu pulled Hu Mengmeng back into her embrace, stroking the fur on her head and neck while looking out the window. Hu Mengmeng snuggled against her and squinted her eyes. As I thought, she likes the little fox form better. She can’t stand to see me looking pitiable.
The fact that Ye Xinyu wanted to monopolize her made Hu Mengmeng feel strangely happy. She almost wanted to grow large again just so she could wrap Ye Xinyu completely in her arms…
“Sister, where are we going? It’s noon, should we go home for lunch first?” Hu Mengmeng asked, finding a comfortable position in Ye Xinyu’s lap.
“The commute takes too long. We don’t know if that fox demon will harm another girl in the meantime. We’ll go to the other incident site first; there are restaurants there,” Ye Xinyu said.
If it were just a matter of mutual pleasure, Ye Xinyu wouldn’t care about a demon’s affairs. But Hu Qingqing’s actions were purely predatory—even her own kind didn’t dare associate with her. For a fragile human, one encounter meant falling into a coma for days and suffering massive physical damage. Those five girls were proof.
“Go to the Night Color Bar.” Ye Xinyu didn’t open the partition but spoke to the driver over the intercom. This bar was where the other girls had been found. She wondered if the fox would return there to solve her “problem.” It was a lesbian bar in a street full of bars that stayed open twenty-four hours a day. It was a convenient place to find girls.
Hu Mengmeng didn’t change back, continuing to nestle in Ye Xinyu’s arms and obediently letting her pet her. Her proximity to Ye Xinyu’s abdomen also calmed the “little thing,” making Ye Xinyu feel much more physically comfortable.
As Ye Xinyu’s car headed toward the bar street, a car followed behind them. The person inside was Lin Yuanya.
“Xiaoya, where are you going? It’s not safe lately, I’ll go with you. You must wear the protective charm I gave you.” Gu Mingzhen had called from an unknown number. Before she could finish her sentence, Lin Yuanya interrupted.
“What business is it of yours where I go? Gu Mingzhen, don’t you ever follow me again! You make me sick!” Lin Yuanya snapped and hung up. Remembering the charm, she picked up a small fragrant pouch hanging from her phone and threw it into the car’s trash bin. It was a gift from Gu Mingzhen; in her current anger, she hated everything associated with the girl.
Throwing the charm aside, Lin Yuanya looked toward Ye Xinyu’s car with expectation. She didn’t know where Ye Xinyu was going, but she planned to “accidentally” show up. Senior Sister Ye showed concern for me just now—she must have a good impression of me!
They soon arrived at the bar street, and Ye Xinyu’s car parked at the entrance.
“Change back and put your clothes on,” Ye Xinyu said, petting Hu Mengmeng.
Hu Mengmeng hopped onto the seat and shifted back to human form, picking up her clothes and putting them on. Ye Xinyu looked away and took several talismans from her handbag.
“That fox has seen your demon form. Once we enter this street, we need to suppress our auras. Use your human form.” Ye Xinyu spoke after hearing that Hu Mengmeng was dressed.
Hu Mengmeng didn’t mind. Her clothes were a bit tight when her bloodline was active, but they felt much looser now that she had suppressed it. Perhaps because Ye Xinyu’s scent was still lingering in her nose, Hu Mengmeng felt a bit thin-skinned after reverting to human form. Her face was slightly red as she looked at Ye Xinyu shyly.
“Keep these talismans on you. They can be triggered instantly. Use this Clarity Talisman on yourself. If we encounter that fox, use the Prison Talisman and the Tracking Talisman on her.” Ye Xinyu handed the charms to Hu Mengmeng.
“Yes, Sister, and you should keep yours ready too. That fox can use ‘Pink Seduction’—it’ll be a lot of trouble if a human gets hit by it.”
Equipped with the talismans, they stepped out of the car and told the driver to go to the parking lot. As they walked into a bar, Lin Yuanya, following behind, gritted her teeth in fury.
“Dammit! Hu Mengmeng is actually going to the Night Color with Senior Sister Ye!” Lin Yuanya fumed. She knew that bar as well. She got out of her car and followed them inside.
Even during the day, the bar was somewhat dim, cast in hues of pink and purple. A low, soulful female jazz vocal played, creating a somewhat ambiguous and intimate atmosphere.
This was Hu Mengmeng’s first time in such a place, and she felt it was quite strange. She had imagined a bar to be all flashing lights and frantic dancing, but this place seemed very elegant. Listening to the slow-tempo music, Hu Mengmeng felt a bit tipsy.
Ye Xinyu looked at the menu and ordered juice and two simple meals for them, sitting in a corner booth. Hu Mengmeng watched Ye Xinyu’s long hair fall over her shoulders; every movement seemed like it was in slow motion. The way Ye Xinyu lowered and raised her eyes… every single detail was so beautiful it felt like it was striking a chord in Hu Mengmeng’s heart.
“Mengmeng? What is it? Are you scared?” Ye Xinyu asked, seeing the girl’s dazed look and tapping her lightly.
Hu Mengmeng watched Ye Xinyu’s pink, moist lips move and couldn’t help but swallow.
“Sister… you’re so beautiful…” Hu Mengmeng said, smiling at her.
Ye Xinyu’s face flushed slightly, but she remained clear-headed. She felt something was wrong. The kid is usually so shy—how could she be bold enough to say such words so directly?
“Mengmeng?” Ye Xinyu called out again, moving closer to her. She was about to use a Clarity Talisman, but Hu Mengmeng suddenly pulled her into an embrace, using her human form to mimic the movements of a fox.
