Married the Second Generation Fox Demon with a Baby in a Flash Marriage - Chapter 47
Hu Mengmeng was still agonizing over the situation when she suddenly heard what Ye Xinyu said. Her eyes went wide as she stared at the other woman.
Ye Xinyu picked up her water cup and took a small sip; the water inside rippled slightly.
“Sister, are you serious?” Hu Mengmeng wasn’t sure if she had heard correctly.
“Unless you’re planning on looking for someone else?” Ye Xinyu said with a trace of nonchalance.
“No! No way! I’ll only ever look for Sister,” Hu Mengmeng said hurriedly, her eyes shining with intense focus.
“I’m tired. Go back and rest.” Ye Xinyu lowered her gaze, avoiding eye contact.
Hu Mengmeng wanted to stay close to her, but she wasn’t as bold as when she was in her small fox form. A full-grown human wasn’t a pet, so she could only look at Ye Xinyu longingly.
“Then I’ll head out first. Rest well, Sister,” Hu Mengmeng said.
Ye Xinyu waved her hand dismissively, and Hu Mengmeng backed out of the room.
After closing the door, Hu Mengmeng stood in the hallway and pinched herself. It hurt.
Ye Xinyu had actually agreed to help her when the time came! The sudden surge of happiness made her feel like she was floating on air.
“Mengmeng!” As she headed toward her room, she heard someone call her. Turning her head, she saw Su Mingli standing there, looking somewhat agitated.
“Mom!” Hu Mengmeng called out. She felt a wave of guilt; once again, she had made Su Mingli worry.
“How are you feeling?” Su Mingli asked.
“Mom, I’m fine. I was just exhausted before. By the way, Mom, come to my room. I want to ask you something,” Hu Mengmeng said to comfort her.
“What is it? Look at you, always getting into trouble every few days. I can’t even help you. Can’t you just be more careful?” Su Mingli nagged as she followed Hu Mengmeng into the bedroom.
“Mom, um…” Hu Mengmeng closed the door and turned around, looking embarrassed.
“What do you need to ask me? Why are you acting so shy? I’m your mother; there’s nothing to be embarrassed about with me.” Su Mingli looked at her, puzzled.
“Mom… ahem… I’ll just ask directly. When you and my Fox Mama were together… how did you spend her estrus period while you were pregnant?” Hu Mengmeng cleared her throat and asked, bracing herself. For the sake of Ye Xinyu’s safety, she had to seek advice. After all, Su Mingli had successfully and safely given birth to her, so their method must have been safe.
“Estrus period?” Su Mingli was stunned by the question.
When Ye Xinyu had explained the events of that day to them, she had been too embarrassed to mention that Hu Mengmeng’s estrus had been triggered. She only said that Lin Yuanya had struck her, and when she woke up in her full fox form, she had lost control.
“Mom, you didn’t know? Fox demons have two estrus periods a year, roughly in the spring and autumn. During this time, it’s a bit of a problem if the urge isn’t relieved,” Hu Mengmeng said.
“She never mentioned it, so how would I know?! Does every fox demon have it?” Su Mingli asked after a pause.
“Every demon tribe should have it. The timing differs slightly, but it’s usually there. If they don’t have it, something is wrong. You and Fox Mama were together for over a year; did you really not know?” Hu Mengmeng was surprised.
“Spring and autumn… it wasn’t much different from usual. Honestly, child, why are you asking this?” Su Mingli thought about it for a moment. She began to feel shy herself, her old face turning red as she spoke with feigned impatience.
Su Mingli reminisced—since the first time she and that fox had been together, it had been every single day, without fail. Spring, autumn, winter, or summer, there really wasn’t much of a difference!
If she had to name a difference, there were a few days in spring and autumn when that fox was clearly much more passionate and persistent than usual, leaving her quite exhausted.
“Mom, isn’t it autumn now? When I transformed, my estrus period arrived. Even though I’m suppressing the bloodline now, it’s very unstable. It’s about to break my seal. The medicine I took makes me look fine for now, but once it wears off in a few days, it’ll definitely burst through all at once. I’m afraid I won’t know my own strength and might hurt Sister or the baby. That’s why I wanted to ask if you and Fox Mama took any precautions back then?” Even though they were close, Hu Mengmeng found it incredibly awkward to say this to her own mother.
“That… I’m not entirely sure. Your Fox Mama was always the one in the lead. She had her own sense of boundaries. It wasn’t much different from usual, and she wouldn’t crush me… ahem… basically, she stayed on the bottom. Just control yourself and take it slow. Oh, heavens, just figure it out yourself! I can’t help with this. I’m going back to my room!” Su Mingli said. Her face felt hot; if not for the sake of her future granddaughter, she truly wouldn’t have been able to say another word.
With that, Su Mingli turned and hurried away.
Hu Mengmeng scratched her head. Don’t crush Ye Xinyu… let Ye Xinyu be on top… That was certainly a method, but it was almost like she hadn’t given any advice at all.
Having slept for a day and night, Hu Mengmeng wasn’t tired. She spent the night scouring her ancestral memories, searching for possible protective methods and which dual-cultivation secrets would be best for Ye Xinyu’s body.
After returning to her room, Su Mingli wasn’t as calm as she had appeared in front of her daughter. Her expression looked a bit troubled.
If what Hu Mengmeng said was true, she wondered how her own fox had survived all these years if she was still alive. Would she have looked for other foxes or other demons?
Over ten years had passed!
At the thought, a surge of complicated emotions rose in Su Mingli’s heart.
“You troublemaker… as long as you’re alive and safe, that’s enough. We have no more fate in this life.” Su Mingli’s eyes dimmed. She was no longer young and beautiful; compared to a fox demon with cultivation and a long lifespan, her best years were gone. As long as that fox was okay, she asked for nothing else.
Dragon City, Ou Family.
“Father, you have to help me! The Ye family in Fengcheng killed my contracted demon! The Viper Great Demon—Grandfather chose it for me himself! It’s dead just like that, and even the demon alchemy is gone!” Ou Shixing knelt in a room, crying and complaining to a middle-aged man.
Ou Shixing’s contracted demon was gone, and the body had been confiscated by the government. He couldn’t get it back and could no longer stay in Fengcheng for fear of Ye Xinyu coming for him. He had rushed back to Dragon City to find his father.
“Didn’t you say you were going to marry the Ye family’s daughter? You didn’t marry her, and you lost your demon? You useless embarrassment!” The man sitting in the lead seat snorted coldly.
This man was Ou Xianggui, Ou Shixing’s father. He shared a resemblance with his son but had a stern face and was somewhat bloated.
“Your son is useless! I beg Father to stand up for me! Ye Xinyu has a Great Demon by her side—a fox demon with five tails. It killed my demon and took its alchemy; its cultivation must have soared by now!” Ou Shixing bowed low.
“Useless thing! I’ll have Uncle Shuo accompany you. The Ye family must pay the price!” Ou Xianggui said. He hooked his finger, and a gray rat crawled out from his shoulder. It transformed into a cloud of black smoke and solidified into a standing man beside him. The man looked to be in his late forties or fifties, with a sharp, thin face, thinning hair, and protruding cheekbones. He was the literal embodiment of the phrase “sharp-mouthed and monkey-cheeked.”
“Master, I will not fail your expectations.” The man beside Ou Xianggui grinned.
“Thank you, Father! Thank you, Uncle Shuo! If we can subdue the Ye family this time, we can even get another Great Fox Demon!” Ou Shixing’s eyes sparkled with excitement. With his father’s contracted demon involved, success was guaranteed.
Fox demons are so beautiful and seductive; truly rare treasures!
The next day at the villa, Hu Mengmeng got up and made breakfast with Su Mingli. The group sat down to eat. Hu Mengmeng kept stealing glances at Ye Xinyu, but Ye Xinyu didn’t look at her once.
At this moment, Hu Mengmeng didn’t dare release her fox bloodline to turn into a little fox and butter up Ye Xinyu, so she could only watch blankly. Gu Yiying looked back and forth between them, finding the dynamic quite amusing.
After the meal, Gu Yiying reported what she had found through her family.
“Regarding Mengmeng’s matter, I had my cousin coordinate with your private investigator. The fingerprints on the drugs found in her bag belonged to a girl in her class named Yu Luoluo. We found her, and the girl was timid—she confessed after a few questions. Following that lead, we found the mastermind: it was Gu Mingzhen, a daughter from a side branch of the Gu family. She had a grudge against Mengmeng and came up with this plan. The members of the Gu family involved in this will be punished according to the law.”
“It was actually them!” Hu Mengmeng was shocked. To get revenge for Lin Yuanya, Gu Mingzhen had gone so far as to frame her! And Yu Luoluo, who had always been rude to her, had actually become an accomplice!
“However,” Ye Xinyu added, “Mengmeng’s record with the Special Investigation Team hasn’t been cleared yet. They called me today, telling me to catch Hu Qingqing as soon as possible. She’s caused several more incidents lately—not just harvesting Primal Yin, but a significant amount of vital energy as well. I still have to catch her. Is just punishing the ones who framed her enough? In the future, I want a 30% discount on all talismans I buy from you.”
“30% off? Do you think I pick my talismans up off the ground? Unless… you do me a favor,” Gu Yiying said, her eyes darting.
“Fine. Hu Qingqing is a five-tailed Great Fox who harvests human energy and has harmed several girls; she has already violated the treaty between humans and demons.” Ye Xinyu understood Gu Yiying’s intent.
If a demon came to the human world, committed no crimes, and obtained legal status, any hunter who persecuted them or forced them into a contract would be punished by their organization. This was a pact made by the high-ranking officials of both races. But someone like Hu Qingqing had violated the pact; if she was turned into a contracted demon as punishment, the authorities would not interfere.
“40% off, as long as you help me catch her!” Gu Yiying declared.
Gu Yiying had gone years without a contracted demon because she wanted a powerful one and looked down on average ones. Not everyone had Ye Xinyu’s luck in stumbling upon a demon like Hu Mengmeng who advanced so quickly. If not for the need to save Tao Tao, Gu Yiying wouldn’t have even bothered with a low-level parasite demon. Fortunately, the parasite was weak; once its consciousness was erased and it was sealed, it didn’t tax her mental energy much.
“She has fled now, and we don’t know if she’s left the Fengcheng area. Finding her in a city this big won’t be easy; we’ll have to lure her into a trap. Gu Yiying, you seem to still be a virgin. You go lure her. She currently needs women with cultivation, energy, and Primal Yin to recover her strength and get through her estrus period.”
“I… fine. I’ll do it. But you have to help—don’t let that fox actually…” Gu Yiying looked a bit embarrassed. A woman in her late twenties still being a virgin felt a bit shameful to her, but seeing that the two younger girls showed no reaction, she didn’t say more.
“Of course I will help. Prepare plenty of talismans on your person and keep in constant contact with Mengmeng and me. We will maintain a set distance. We’ll plan it out to ensure nothing goes wrong.”
The group discussed and set a plan.
“Sister, I want to tell you something.” Once the meeting ended and everyone went to prepare, Hu Mengmeng followed Ye Xinyu into her room.
“What is it?” Ye Xinyu turned to her.
“I thought about it yesterday. There is a way to avoid hurting you or the baby,” Hu Mengmeng said.
“What way?”
“You and I… let’s form a contract. A Master-Servant Contract.”
