My Omega Is A Top Heavenly Master (GL) - Chapter 5
“I think you’ve got it all wrong, Mrs. Luo,” Mu Baicheng said in a heavy voice. “I am indeed short on money, but I won’t use an Omega as a bargaining chip. Qin Xiyao is a person, not someone’s property.”
A flicker of a smile appeared in Qin Xiyao’s indifferent eyes. She hadn’t expected this money-grubbing fool to say something like that.
Mrs. Luo’s face soured instantly. Chen Yao rushed in front of Mu Baicheng with a huff, acting aggressively. “If you don’t hand this Omega over, then get the hell out of here. This is my mom’s house!”
“Fine.” Qin Xiyao stepped forward and took Mu Baicheng’s hand, her eyes rippleless. “According to the law, your current behavior is called trespassing. It is you who should leave now.”
“What did you say?” Mrs. Luo sneered, as if she had heard a joke. “This is my house.”
Qin Xiyao ignored her. She turned to Mu Baicheng. “Did you sign that… thing? Um… a lease agreement?”
Mu Baicheng froze for a second, then nodded. “I did. It expires in half a month.”
Qin Xiyao nodded. By that logic, they were the ones in the right. “Since that’s the case, the landlord is in breach of contract. How do you plan to pay the penalty fee?”
Mrs. Luo’s expression shifted completely, her old face turning cold. “You little girl, don’t try to bully an old woman like me just because you think I don’t know the law. I’m the landlord; I can take the house back whenever I want. There’s no such thing as a penalty fee!”
Qin Xiyao didn’t speak. She simply looked at Mu Baicheng, as if asking for her opinion on whether to pursue the matter.
Chen Yao’s eyes kept scanning Qin Xiyao up and down, the desire in them unmistakable. A wave of revulsion hit Mu Baicheng, and she subtly pulled Qin Xiyao behind her.
“Mrs. Luo, we’ve known each other a long time. I won’t press the issue. I’ll move out before the contract expires.”
Mrs. Luo let out a cold laugh, looking at Mu Baicheng with disdain. “Fine! Let’s see what kind of house a pauper like you can find.”
With that, she dragged the reluctant Chen Yao away. As the door slammed shut, Mu Baicheng looked at the closed entrance with a heavy heart.
Why did I say those things? I clearly have no money, yet I stood up to the landlady. Heavens! How did I end up doing this? What am I going to do now?
Mu Baicheng covered her face in a minor breakdown. Counting her current funds, she was essentially broke. The remaining twenty thousand yuan belonged to Qin Xiyao.
“You should go,” Mu Baicheng sighed. She was struggling to support herself, and Qin Xiyao was clearly capable of making her own money. Staying with her was just asking for a life of hardship.
“Trying to drive me away again?” Qin Xiyao took the money Mu Baicheng had hidden under her pillow and placed it back in her hand. “I want to live with you. You’re the only person I know here. This is my rent.”
Trying to run? Not a chance, Qin Xiyao sneered internally. You haven’t finished paying back the mana you owe me. There’s no way I’m letting you go.
Mu Baicheng looked at the stack of bills. This was her only chance; Qin Xiyao was her “Sugar Mama” now. Realizing this, Mu Baicheng looked at Qin Xiyao with sparkling eyes. “You really are too kind.” Can I just… not pay this back?
“This is rent. One requirement: the place needs to be bigger,” Qin Xiyao said, seeing right through her. “The rest is what I’m paying you back. Didn’t you say to pay you back once I had money? Besides, I don’t have an ID card; I need you to rent the house.”
Mu Baicheng paused, remembering that Qin Xiyao was an “illegal immigrant” with no local status. Being so beautiful, what if someone bullied her? Since I took her money, I have to take responsibility, Mu Baicheng thought, finding a reasonable excuse to pocket the cash with a clear conscience.
Qin Xiyao was speechless. The Mu Baicheng of her past life, who was like the sun and moon, and this person were truly from two different worlds. Was I blind in my past life not to see her true nature?
With money in hand, Mu Baicheng left the house in high spirits that day, taking Qin Xiyao to a Southern morning tea house. But when it came time to order, her old habit of being stingy flared up.
The waiter looked at Mu Baicheng with growing impatience as she agonized over the menu. “Hello, Ma’am, have you decided yet?”
Mu Baicheng gave two dry coughs. “I need a bit more time. I’ll call you when I’m ready.”
The waiter pouted and muttered “pauper” under her breath. As she turned to leave, her professional smile vanished completely.
Qin Xiyao rested her head on her hand, watching the conflicted Mu Baicheng. “Let’s go. You don’t really want to eat here, do you?”
Without giving Mu Baicheng time to argue, Qin Xiyao left. The streets were bustling with traffic—completely different from her previous world. A strange world, and a strange gland on the back of her neck.
Qin Xiyao didn’t know why she had become an Omega, but her divine sense told her that Omegas in this world were vulnerable. An Alpha could mark many Omegas, but an Omega could only accept the mark of one Alpha.
Unable to divine her own future, she could only assume this was her “Saint-tier Tribulation.” A thousand years ago, after Mu Baicheng left without a word, Qin Xiyao’s world had only been about reaching Sainthood.
Qin Xiyao’s nose twitched. A strange aroma wafted over. She looked to the side to see Mu Baicheng handing her a cardboard bucket.
“A Family Bucket,” Mu Baicheng said with a smile. In her impression, Omegas loved junk food. But looking at Qin Xiyao’s ethereal, “beyond mortal desires” appearance, she wasn’t entirely sure.
But morning tea was just too expensive! Five or six hundred yuan for breakfast? A KJJ Family Bucket was on sale today for only 53 yuan. Isn’t it delicious?
Qin Xiyao had never smelled anything like this. Curious, she took the bucket, picked out a burger, and took a bite.
Initially, her face showed a hint of disdain, but as the burger disappeared, her eyes crinkled into lines. “Thank you. It’s delicious.”
Mu Baicheng breathed a sigh of relief. As expected, Omegas love this stuff.
“Can we eat this tomorrow too?” Qin Xiyao asked, a hint of expectation appearing in her cool eyes. After 100,000 years of cultivation, she had almost forgotten what food tasted like. This was the most delicious thing she had ever eaten.
Mu Baicheng’s heart skipped a beat at that look. Without thinking, she replied, “Yes.”
Qin Xiyao didn’t say thank you again; she just took small bites of the Family Bucket. Though she ate elegantly, she hadn’t stopped since she got it.
When they reached the real estate agency in the city center, Mu Baicheng gave Qin Xiyao an awkward look as her stomach let out a growl of complaint. Hearing this, Qin Xiyao looked at her warily and subtly hid the bucket behind her back.
Mu Baicheng realized she was “guarding her food.” So even a celestial being guards their snacks? And Qin Xiyao’s appetite was terrifying. Looking at her slender waist, Mu Baicheng wondered where all that food actually went.
“Hello, my name is Sun. I’m your dedicated rental manager for today,” a male Beta in a suit said with a beaming smile.
Before she could soothe her stomach, Mu Baicheng stood up and asked Qin Xiyao, “Want to come look at houses?”
Qin Xiyao shook her head. She glanced at the Beta’s face and knew he didn’t have the house she wanted. The house she sought would only appear after she waited there for a while.
Mu Baicheng didn’t force her and left with the agent.
Once she was gone, Qin Xiyao pulled the Family Bucket from behind her back and continued eating unhurriedly. She had sensed Mu Baicheng wanting to steal her food earlier. In this world, not only is she stingy, but she even tries to steal a bite from me. How embarrassing.
Just as she finished, a familiar female voice rang out. “It’s you!”
Liu Suhong appeared without warning, looking at Qin Xiyao with surprise. “You said we’d meet again, but I didn’t think it would be this soon.”
“Mm,” Qin Xiyao replied nonchalantly. Her house had just been delivered to her door.
Beside Liu Suhong stood a female Alpha, also dressed in a suit like the previous agent. The only difference was that her suit looked significantly more expensive.
“Manager Fang, I’ve run into a friend. I’ll talk to you about selling the house another time.”
Manager Fang’s attitude toward Liu Suhong was extremely respectful. “Of course, Miss Liu. Call me anytime you need anything.”
After the manager left, Liu Suhong extended an invitation. “Have some time? Let’s grab a coffee.”
Qin Xiyao shook her head. “Can we have tea?”
She preferred tea over unknown beverages. Liu Suhong didn’t object; in her eyes, Qin Xiyao was a miracle worker.
She took Qin Xiyao to a high-end tea house nearby. Qin Xiyao chose a fragrant Zhu Ye Qing (Bamboo Leaf Green) tea. Her posture while drinking was as elegant as an immortal’s, making Liu Suhong feel refreshed just by watching.
“If I were an Alpha, I’d definitely pursue you,” Liu Suhong couldn’t help but sigh.
Qin Xiyao glanced at the space between Liu Suhong’s eyebrows. Compared to last time, her “Red Phoenix Star” (marriage luck) was even more prominent—and it felt strangely familiar to Qin Xiyao.
“I took what you said last time to heart,” Liu Suhong began. “My father never liked him anyway, thinking he was just a poor kid. I was stupid enough to think he really loved me. But after hearing you, I did some digging. Guess what?”
“He was involved with several other women,” Qin Xiyao interjected, cutting straight to the point.
Liu Suhong’s pupils vibrated. “You really are a god! How did you know? But you said my destined partner is a woman… I’m not interested in women.”
Liu Suhong was currently in a state of half-belief. She believed because Qin Xiyao accurately predicted the “scumbag” boyfriend, but she doubted because she truly had no interest in female Alphas.
Qin Xiyao set down her teacup, her black eyes looking calmly at Liu Suhong—a gaze that felt like it could swallow someone whole. “According to your physiognomy, you’ve dated many men. What is the most intimate contact you’ve ever had with them?”
Liu Suhong was choked up. She liked those boyfriends well enough, but whenever things got too intimate, she felt physically uncomfortable. At worst, even holding hands was out of the question.
She used to think she had some strange psychological condition. But now that Qin Xiyao mentioned it… Is my destined partner really a woman?
“You cannot touch those men. To be precise, you cannot touch anyone except your destined partner.” Qin Xiyao had seen the seal on Liu Suhong’s forehead—it was the marriage imprint of a Great Immortal (Daluo Jinxian). Liu Suhong had already been chosen.
“Then who is she? Where is she?” Liu Suhong asked.
Immortals have laws; Qin Xiyao could not speak of matters regarding those at the level of a Great Immortal or above. Even if that Immortal had forgotten when they left the mark, Qin Xiyao couldn’t say it directly.
“Some things cannot be spoken.”
“Hmph,” Liu Suhong rolled her eyes. “You people always leave things half-said. By the way, what were you doing at the real estate agency? Where’s your Alpha?”
Qin Xiyao poured herself more tea. “The current apartment is too small. We want to rent a new one.”
“I have one!” Liu Suhong patted her chest. “Facing the river, 120 square meters, two bedrooms. If you want it, I’ll give it to you for 3,000 a month. Just one small request.”
“Once a month,” Qin Xiyao said directly.
Liu Suhong was so surprised she laughed. “You knew my request was for a fortune reading?”
“Mm,” Qin Xiyao replied. The request was written all over her face; what was there to guess?
“You really…” Liu Suhong didn’t know what to say. She had no secrets in front of Qin Xiyao.
Qin Xiyao blinked, remembering something important. “Can you help me get an ID card?”
