Summary
Synopsis:
In her previous life, the woman with reddened eyes knelt before her hospital bed, holding Lin Yi’s pale, slender fingers and pressing them against her forehead. Her voice was low and weak, afraid of disturbing the emaciated woman lying on the bed, as she pleaded helplessly, “Let me take care of you, okay?”
Lin Yi’s heart pounded wildly. Color rose to her pale cheeks, and she felt a little shy, but she turned her head away and softly refused the woman.
“No.”
That single “no” placed them worlds apart despite being so close, leaving them with no future afterward.
In this life, Lin Yi took the woman’s hand first, pressed it against her cheek, and smiled until her eyes curved.
The woman looked astonished, then her expression softened.
She pulled her hand free from Lin Yi’s grasp, lifted Lin Yi’s chin, and leaned close enough for her breath to brush Lin Yi’s lips. Deep in her eyes was nothing but possessiveness and obsession.
“You know what I want.”
I know.
It’s me.
