My Psycho-Beautiful Professor Forced Me to Mark Her - Chapter 1
CP: Qi Si*Lin Ye (Qi Si, pronounced qisi, similar to “cheese,” so she’s sometimes called Cheese)
The September “Autumn” was in full force. Just stepping out of the dorm, she was already drenched in sweat. Still, Qi Si didn’t want to tie up her long, flowing hair.
She carried her bag slung over her shoulder, walking hunched over for a while. As she passed the convenience store in the residential area, she saw chilled bottled water in the freezer, so she stopped to buy one.
Inside the store, the voices of some girls carried over:
“Did you hear? This afternoon’s class is being taught by senior student Mo Xiao, that beautiful senior who spoke at the opening ceremony!”
“Oh my god, how is she so amazing? She’s only a sophomore and she’s already a substitute teacher!”
“Exactly! I heard all her classes were A+ in her freshman year, and this year she can already apply for the National Scholarship.”
“I’m so jealous… When can I be that amazing? And I heard that senior student Mo Xiao… is an Omega?”
As they got to more private topics, the girls lowered their voices, their happy laughter mixed in.
Three meters away, Qi Si paid for her water and drank half the bottle thirstily. Just as she was screwing the cap back on, one of them called out to her.
“Hey, you there, are you from dorm 602?” A tall girl in a tank top and camouflage pants came out with a can of soda, kicking a pebble on the ground cockily and looking at her with disdain.
Behind her followed three girls who had just paid for their purchases. From their appearance, they seemed to be a group of Alpha girls, possibly from the same dorm.
Qi Si might have seen them before, but she didn’t remember.
She was never good at recognizing people.
“I knew it,” the camo-pants girl squinted as she sized her up. “You’re the one who got an exemption from military training?”
“Her name is, I think, Yuan Lǚ!” The girl with pink hair raised her head, so confident her voice almost cracked.
Qi Si: “…”
“Hey, Yuan Lǚ, why did you get an exemption from military training?” The camo-pants girl squeezed the soda can, splashing some soda. She smirked menacingly, pointing her index finger at Qi Si. “Everyone in dorm 602 should be an Alpha, right? As an Alpha, not participating in military training is a disgrace to us Alphas, isn’t it?”
“She’s so pale, is she really an Alpha?” The girl wrapped in a sun-protective jacket frowned.
“She’s only pale because she didn’t participate in military training, ugh!” The pink-haired girl gritted her teeth and yelled at Qi Si, “Yuan Lǚ! Say something, our dorm leader is talking to you!”
Qi Si was expressionless. She took out her phone from her pocket to check the time, not even looking up as she said, “Sorry, I’m in a hurry to get to class.”
“Is it the ‘Medical Fundamentals’ class?” The camo-pants girl strode up and put a hand on Qi Si’s shoulder. She was about the same height as Qi Si, but her demeanor was wilder and more domineering.
In contrast, Qi Si looked like a lost little lamb.
She walked with her head down and said after a moment’s thought, “…I think so.”
She only remembered the address of the classroom and forgot what class it was or who the teacher was.
…Did they happen to have the same class? And the substitute teacher was Su Mo Xiao?
At the thought of this, Qi Si’s mind went blank for a second.
“You can’t even confirm the course name, are you kidding me?” The camo-pants girl deliberately put her weight on Qi Si, laughing as if to exert dominance. “Perfect, we have that class too. Since we’re going the same way, let’s go together!”
Qi Si was bent over from the pressure. Remembering something, she suddenly stopped to tie her shoelace, slipping her upper body from under the camo-pants girl’s arm and almost making her lose her balance and fall.
“What the heck!” The camo-pants girl, having failed to get the upper hand, turned around and glared at her, only to be met with a beautiful face with gentle, calm eyes.
Qi Si usually walked with her head down, giving people the impression that she was gloomy and strange. But when she lifted her head, her black hair fell softly to the sides of her forehead, her makeup-free features were flawless, and when she looked at someone calmly, it was impossible for anyone to be angry with her.
The camo-pants girl raised an eyebrow in surprise and “good-naturedly” reached out to pull her up, prompting her followers to “tsk tsk” in amazement.
Qi Si, following her own pace, looked around for the teaching building with her bag. The camo-pants girl didn’t give up on small talk, asking in a familiar tone, “Hey, you said you’re strong and healthy, so why didn’t you participate in military training?”
“If she doesn’t want to talk about it, why do you keep asking?” The pink-haired girl rolled her eyes. “She’s just a weak Alpha, what’s there to be ashamed of?”
The camo-pants girl scrutinized Qi Si, and her brow furrowed—what nonsense. Her physique and frame were so perfect even she was envious. How could she be a weak Alpha?
“Okay, stop dawdling, we’re going to be late for class,” complained the girl in the sun-protective jacket. “I don’t want to be in the front row, I’ll be too noticeable!”
“But Mo Xiao is substituting today, isn’t the front row better?” The fourth, inconspicuous girl said in a clear voice.
They all looked at each other. The pink-haired girl shrieked, vocalizing their shared thought, “Shoot! With senior Mo Xiao’s class, the front row is definitely going to be taken by those stinky male Alphas!”
“For sure!”
“With their idiotic behavior!”
“Damn it!!!”
Qi Si was still trying to distinguish between the North and South buildings when she was suddenly pulled forward with great force. The camo-pants girl started running with her, and the others, as if on adrenaline, also ran as if they were in a 100-meter dash.
When they got to the classroom, the wall clock showed 1:22 PM. Six out of ten seats were full, and there happened to be five empty seats left in the front row. Without a word, the female Alphas pulled Qi Si in to squeeze in.
Qi Si: “…?”
The sudden appearance of a group of distinctive female Alphas in the classroom naturally drew attention. The camo-pants girl looked around like a leading wolf, closely monitoring the entire group. To her right sat a group of bulkier, hormone-filled male Alphas, and to her left were Qi Si, the pink-haired girl, the sun-protective jacket girl, and the inconspicuous girl, in that order.
Since the military training started, the competition between male and female Alphas had never stopped. In terms of speed and agility, the male Alphas really couldn’t compare to the female Alphas. Moreover, female Alphas were often more united than male Alphas and were a powerful group on campus, so when the camo-pants girl and her companions sat down next to the male Alphas, their arrogance immediately subsided.
Qi Si was unfortunately pulled in to fill a seat. From the moment she sat down, she seemed to sense malicious stares from the crowd. She turned to look but didn’t find anyone she knew, only hearing the girls’ hushed gasps.
“They’ve never seen you before, and they think you’re very good-looking,” the camo-pants girl said smugly. She cared a lot about group honor. If Qi Si was popular among the Omega and Beta groups, it would also be a credit to the female Alpha group.
The pink-haired girl suddenly said, “It’s just a mysterious persona. If there’s a person in class who has never shown up, and didn’t come to military training, even if he’s a Beta, I’d be interested in him.”
The others glanced at Qi Si. Just as they were about to express their opinions, a sudden cheer erupted in the classroom, and everyone’s attention was drawn away!
Su Mo Xiao walked in with her laptop bag. She wore a Korean-style Polo shirt with a gray skirt, revealing her fair and slender legs. Paired with expensive platform shoes, her casual and simple outfit gave off a goddess vibe while also being very approachable. When she smiled and waved to the students, someone excitedly made a goose sound.
In a corner no one noticed, Qi Si’s gaze followed the familiar figure, lingering briefly before calmly returning to her book.
Su Mo Xiao came to the front of the podium with her bag, adjusted the microphone, and said with a smile, “Hello, everyone. I will be substituting for Professor Lin in this class today.”
As soon as she spoke, a group of people below quacked and trembled, and the boys in the middle rows shouted in unison, “Hello, senior!”
Su Mo Xiao smiled and responded.
The camo-pants girl, unwilling to be overshadowed, waved to the podium and said generously, “Hello, senior Mo Xiao!”
Su Mo Xiao’s gaze came over, and her smile suddenly froze on her face.
Camo-pants girl: “?”
On the podium, Su Mo Xiao’s eyes seemed to be scalded by a flame and she immediately pulled them back. Her face turned a little pale, and she lowered her head, awkwardly flipping through her lesson plan.
A hubbub broke out, and people below whispered to each other. The camo-pants girl covered her head, wishing she could disappear into the ground. She whispered, “…Did I scare her?”
The pink-haired girl was also shocked. “It seems so. Maybe you shouldn’t have called her by her name?”
“Oh my god, I was so rude!”
Next to her, Qi Si looked at her with a knowing expression, thinking slowly.
She had long hair and didn’t think she was noticeable, but she didn’t expect Su Mo Xiao to recognize her at a glance and even give her a cold shoulder.
Back when Su Mo Xiao broke up with her, Qi Si didn’t even get a chance to ask why. But she wasn’t the kind of person who would pester someone. In the year that followed, she went to many places, and the long periods of solitude allowed her to find some clues in her memories and piece together the whole story.
In short, Su Mo Xiao probably didn’t like her.
Approaching her, becoming her deskmate, bringing her breakfast and snacks, and dating her were probably all at the behest of Su Mo Xiao’s parents.
Qi Si clearly remembered one morning in her sophomore year, when she was taking homework to the office, her homeroom teacher was talking to a woman. The woman smiled and asked her, “You’re Qi Si, who’s always first in your grade?”
Qi Si suffered from prosopagnosia, commonly known as face blindness. Later, she tried hard to remember and confirmed that the woman was Su Mo Xiao’s mother, said to be a leader in the city’s education bureau.
Not long after that day, the classroom seats were rearranged, and Qi Si and Su Mo Xiao became deskmates. On the first day as deskmates, Su Mo Xiao prepared a gift for Qi Si—a Star Wars LEGO C-3PO figure, which was separately taken from the Millennium Falcon set.
Giving the entire Millennium Falcon would have been too valuable for a high school student, but a small figure was just right. It was inconspicuous, easy to collect, and couldn’t be bought with money. It was an irresistible gift for sixteen-year-old Qi Si.
Qi Si was a boarder for all three years of high school and rarely went home. Her access to resources was very limited. As her deskmate, Su Mo Xiao lived near the school and would bring Qi Si all kinds of fruits and delicious food every day, occasionally preparing a small gift, and at the right time, she proposed they date.
The only thing Qi Si could do in return was patiently tutor her with her homework, tirelessly explaining problems and teaching her various problem-solving techniques.
At that time, Su Mo Xiao’s goal was very clear: she wanted to apply to A University’s School of Medicine. As a top medical school in the country, its required score was more than ten points higher than the admission line for the country’s top universities, which was almost impossible for Su Mo Xiao, who was ranked in the top one or two hundred in her grade at the time.
But with Qi Si tutoring her without expecting anything in return, Su Mo Xiao made rapid progress and miraculously got into A University.
After the college entrance exam results came out, Qi Si also applied to A University’s School of Medicine. She had no life goals and just blindly followed along.
After being ghosted by Su Mo Xiao for more than a month, Qi Si sent a message for the Nth time without success, and what she got was a breakup message.
It seemed that everyone had expected this outcome.
Qi Si’s roommate stood up for her: “I knew it, Su Mo Xiao never intended to be with you from the start!”
Someone who had a crush on Su Mo Xiao mocked her: “I knew it, you’re not worthy of the goddess!”
Even the homeroom teacher said nonchalantly: “You’re all just too young!”
Is being young… a sin?
The class bell rang with a long “ding—,” and Qi Si looked at the person on the podium. For the next forty minutes, their eyes never met again.
She was also intentionally skipped during roll call.
During the break, Qi Si walked out of the classroom and was shoved hard.
She steadied herself and looked back, squinting.
A male Alpha, full of muscles, spoke angrily, “Qi Si, what are you doing here? This is Mo Xiao’s first time substituting, why are you here to cause trouble?”
To be able to say “Qi Si” correctly, he must have been someone she knew from before.
Qi Si tentatively said, “Are you… Chen Ce?”
A vein pulsed on the male Alpha’s forehead, and he swung a fist at Qi Si.
Qi Si dodged sideways and grabbed his wrist. She looked up, her eyes calm, and said indifferently, “Hey, hey, it’s not worth getting so angry just because I got your name wrong, is it?”
The commotion attracted a crowd of onlookers. The male Alpha suppressed his anger and lowered his voice to Qi Si, “Get lost! I don’t want to argue with you about this, but you’re not allowed to appear in front of Su Mo Xiao again, you hear?”
Through the window, Qi Si glanced at the person on the podium who was concentrating on organizing her lesson plan. She was not affected by the commotion outside at all.
Qi Si slowly exhaled. The loose strands of hair on her forehead moved slightly. Her expression remained calm. She tightened her grip on his wrist, and the male Alpha’s face became very pained.
Out of the corner of her eye, Su Mo Xiao’s figure was still at the podium. Qi Si’s voice was tinged with coldness: “I paid tuition to attend this class. If she doesn’t want me here, she should tell me herself, instead of sending a lackey to bark.”
