“Call me ‘wife’,” Song Rao teased, adjusting her glasses.

Jiang Yi’s eyes crinkled. “Wife~”

They clinked wine glasses. Cheers.

“I’ll drop you at your apartment; I have to head to the lab,” Song Rao said as she drove her back.

After Jiang Yi went upstairs, Shen Siyun called almost immediately.

“Have you been eating properly at home?” Shen Siyun asked.

Upon hearing her voice, Jiang Yi’s mood plummeted. Even the beautiful voice couldn’t save it. She gave a perfunctory “I ate.”

“The housekeeper said you weren’t home today. Where did you go?”

“Nowhere special, just walking around.”

Jiang Yi went into the bathroom. To be fair, the apartment Shen Siyun bought was high-end and fully equipped, including a large soaking tub.

“Have you signed the contract?”

The contract again…

Jiang Yi paused as she was about to step into the tub. A surge of bitterness and pain washed over her. She closed her eyes and cursed Shen Siyun in her head several times before she could steady her voice.

“I’m taking a bath. We’ll talk when I’m done.”

Without waiting for a reply, she hung up.

On the other end, a flicker of displeasure crossed Shen Siyun’s face. But thinking of the contract, she suppressed her temper. Given her harsh words yesterday and the pressure of the contract today, it was normal for Jiang Yi to be emotional.

She’d just have to coax her properly when she got back. Jiang Yi loved her so much; nothing could go wrong.

She was just being a little impatient, that was all.
