Synopsis
Transmigrated schemer with a player’s mindset vs. Stubborn and obsessive aloof ‘ice queen’
It was common knowledge that Ling Yu loved Gu Qing—a love that was both pathetic and foolish. She saw herself as a stepping stone for Gu Qing, ready to be moved wherever needed.
On graduation day, it was pouring rain. Ling Yu’s hands were numb with cold as she shabbily held a hundred balloons and rushed into the auditorium.
In the crowd, Gu Qing was mature and stunning. Her graduation gown hugged her curvy figure, and she was surrounded by both boys and girls vying to confess their feelings.
Ling Yu called out, “Gu Qing…”
Gu Qing’s face was filled with disgust. She looked at Ling Yu’s soaking wet body and said with barely concealed anger, “Is this fun? Ling Yu, I will never like a woman.”
The auditorium fell silent. Everyone thought Ling Yu would put on a brave face and shamelessly stick around Gu Qing.
However, no one else heard the system prompt ringing in Ling Yu’s mind: [Congratulations, host. You have completed the devoted supporting character’s storyline. Mission reward: To die a natural death.]
After Ling Yu completely vanished from Gu Qing’s world, she was at a bar one night. A friend asked her, “After loving a beautiful and aloof woman like Gu Qing, will everyone else you meet from now on seem dull?”
“What kind of person do you mean?” Ling Yu nonchalantly swirled her drink, her tone languid. “Do you mean the ‘uptight straight woman’ type? Ask me again when I actually fall for her.”
That night, the colorful, fragmented lights of the bar danced across Ling Yu’s face. She sat with her arms around two people, playing a game of love with the world.
Gu Qing sat at a nearby booth, clenching her fists.
Gu Qing returned to her family, becoming a ruthless, profit-driven wolf. One late night, she was drunk. She shakily dialed Ling Yu’s number, lowering her dignity to beg, “I have a lot of money now. I’ll give it all to you… Just give me one chance, okay?”
Ling Yu let out a tired yawn, her voice slurred. “I don’t think so.”
As the protagonist of this story—a powerful and tragic character without a romantic partner—Gu Qing’s true love is her career, not Ling Yu.

Author’s Notes:
The female lead is a schemer, but there’s a deeper reason for her “player” personality. Also, don’t be mistaken—this is a story where both leads are dominant. They both have very strong personalities. Contains a “chasing the wife in the crematorium” trope. Be cautious if this is not for you. I am not good at writing synopses.
