Returning to the Villain Omega's High School Days - Chapter 10
“Xie Ning?”
Su Xingheng was holding a ball and sizing her up.
He said with a smile, “I heard you skipped class today. Where did you go?”
Xie Ning was standing in the stairwell, about six or seven steps above Su Xingheng.
Her shadow fell on the ground, creating a kneeling posture.
In her previous life, Xie Ning, like the other supporting characters, had a crush on Su Xingheng.
She pursued him, elevated him, and put him on a pedestal, turning an unknown Su family young master into a prominent figure in Rongcheng.
Su Xingheng later used this momentum to marry three women.
Looking back, Xie Ning felt incredibly foolish.
She had genuinely liked this man, and now she genuinely wanted him to die.
If she had a knife, she would plunge the blade into Su Xingheng’s chest right now and tear his flesh and blood to shreds.
“Host?”
The system seemed to sense her intense emotions.
It warned, “Host, the protagonist cannot die, or the world will collapse.”
Xie Ning lifted her eyelids and looked at Su Xingheng coldly.
Her gaze made him feel uneasy.
He stopped smiling and asked anxiously, “Xie Ning? What’s wrong with you?”
Xie Ning said calmly, “Did something happen in your family?”
Su Xingheng looked around, walked up a few steps, and approached Xie Ning.
He said cautiously, “Xie Ning, how did you find out about that?”
As she suspected, the situation with Su Wan was still a well-kept secret, which explained why she couldn’t find her at school today.
Xie Ning raised an eyebrow and looked at Su Xingheng with a smirk, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
“So, young master Su, what are you going to do with Su Jin?”
A look of panic flashed in Su Xingheng’s eyes.
His Adam’s apple bobbed as he lowered his voice.
“Xie Ning, how much do you know?”
“Host!”
The system shrieked in her mind.
“This is the final warning from the server. You are not to reveal any information from the previous life. It will severely affect the server’s correction process!”
Xie Ning tilted her head, casually brushing her hair away.
“Is there really a need to hide such a ridiculous family matter?”
She hadn’t directly exposed the truth, so it wasn’t a violation of the server’s rules.
The system could only remain silent, warily observing their conversation.
Su Xingheng looked hesitant.
He remembered Su Jin’s reaction earlier and whispered, “Xie Ning, did you say something to my sister?”
“Your sister?”
Xie Ning blinked.
“Which sister?”
Su Xingheng started to get anxious.
He stepped forward to grab Xie Ning’s arm, but she subtly pulled back.
He held the basketball between his waist and arm and placed his other hand on the wall.
His expression became serious, and he spoke clearly, “Xie Ning, I’ve always considered you a good friend. I hope you won’t interfere in this matter. You shouldn’t interfere.”
He was two steps below Xie Ning, and she could see the top of his head.
Like most people, he had only one hair whorl, two eyes, and one nose.
So why was he the protagonist?
The chosen one? It would be better for someone who took up so many social resources to die sooner.
This thought crossed Xie Ning’s mind again, but she remained calm.
After going through so many awful things in her previous life and enduring more than a decade of a miserable existence, what was a little more patience?
She had just been reborn and wasn’t entirely sure what stage things were at in the present.
She didn’t even care about these things in her last life and only learned a little about the isolated Su Wan after she married her.
“What are you afraid of, Su Xingheng? Shouldn’t you show a little responsibility? Su Jin isn’t your sister. You should decide what to do with her sooner rather than later, or it will be too unfair to the other girl,” Xie Ning said bluntly.
She was always direct and straightforward when she spoke, but no one ever disliked her for it. Some people even went out of their way to get scolded by her.
Su Xingheng was surprised by her words and hesitated. “They’re both my sisters…”
“Only one of them is related to you by blood,” Xie Ning said.
“The other one shouldn’t stay in the Su family.”
Su Xingheng felt a flicker of anger.
He knew Xie Ning was outspoken and didn’t think about the consequences of her words, but at least he knew what she was thinking.
Why would Xie Ning think this way? Why was she pressuring him to get rid of Su Jin? Whose idea was this? Did Xie Ning’s father say something to her? Did he put her up to this?
A wave of tension washed over Su Xingheng.
If this was what Mr. Xie wanted, then the situation had become very difficult.
He was engaged to Xie Ning and had no objections to the marriage. In fact, he liked Xie Ning quite a bit and didn’t want a family issue to ruin their engagement.
After weighing his options, Su Xingheng softened his tone and said to Xie Ning, “Xie Ning, you don’t really understand the situation. We’ve already brought Liu Wan home. She has what she deserves.”
“Liu Wan?”
Xie Ning frowned slightly.
“Yeah, she took her adoptive parents’ last name, Liu,” Su Xingheng said. “You’ll have a chance to meet her.”
Xie Ning was desperate to see her. The thought of seeing her 16-year-old Wanwan made her forget everything else.
In her previous life, right up until they got married, she never truly saw Su Wan.
She only knew her as the “country bumpkin” and a weird kid that nobody liked.
If no one likes you, then I will.
Xie Ning smiled.
“How about I go to your house right now and see your sister?”
Su Xingheng was surprised. He was a little confused.
“Why do you want to see her? She’s not a puppy or a kitten. And she’s a country bumpkin and not good-looking!”
You fool!
That’s only because you haven’t seen her after her transformation!
The fact that he called her Wanwan ugly infuriated Xie Ning. She rolled her eyes.
Su Xingheng continued, “She should be coming to our school in the next two days. My dad is arranging her transfer.”
Xie Ning licked the corner of her lips. “Great! Can I see her tomorrow?”
Su Xingheng found her reaction strange. “You’re… really that curious? I guess so. You’ve probably never seen someone so unfashionable. I’ll take you to see her when she comes tomorrow!”
Xie Ning replied, “Okay.”
Seeing that Xie Ning was no longer talking about forcing Su Jin out, Su Xingheng was a little relieved.
He checked his watch and said, “Oh no, I’ve been talking to you for too long. I might miss the bus!”
Xie Ning: “…”
So the young master of the Su family takes the bus to school?
He looked at Xie Ning and asked, “Where’s your driver? He’s still waiting for you at the school gate, right? Can you give me a ride?”
In the past, this was a regular occurrence.
Xie Ning had a private car to take her to and from school every day, but she wasn’t a snobby young lady.
She often gave people rides, and the Su siblings were frequent passengers.
It was a long detour to the Su family’s home, and it was peak time after school, so sometimes it would take an hour.
But Xie Ning never complained.
She would always tell her driver to drop off the Su siblings before heading back to her mansion.
Xie Ning rubbed her forehead, recalling the stupid things she used to do.
She wanted to slap herself twice.
She looked up at Su Xingheng with a fake smile. She slowly said, “I can’t.”
Su Xingheng froze for a moment.
Xie Ning continued, “I’m in a hurry to get home. I can’t give you a ride today.”
Su Xingheng was so used to getting rides that he felt entitled to them.
When Xie Ning said no, he got annoyed.
“Hmph,” he scoffed. “You’re so stingy. Fine, don’t give me a ride. I’ll take the bus! I don’t want to ride in you capitalists’ dirty car anyway!”
Xie Ning scoffed. She slowly walked toward the school gate and saw a Tesla parked there.
Xie Ning didn’t like Tesla. She liked SUVs like the Land Rover, and she used to ride in a big Land Rover.
But Su Xingheng loved Teslas, and he had also said that his sister Su Jin would get motion sickness in a gas-powered car but was better in an electric one.
To give Su Xingheng a ride, Xie Ning had specifically asked her butler to get her driver a Tesla.
How foolish.
She opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat.
The driver’s name was Ling Shen’an. He was a middle-aged man with a heavy northern accent. He didn’t talk much.
Even though Xie Ning made him wait for so long, he didn’t ask a single question. He just gave her a slightly surprised look.
He was probably surprised because Xie Ning was sitting in the passenger seat, a seat she never used to sit in.
Xie Ning took a deep breath, clenched her fists, and looked at the view through the windshield without saying a word.
She didn’t dare to look at Uncle Ling’s face, afraid of remembering the horrible scene from her last life when he was hacked to death by a thug.
He had 17 knife wounds, from his forehead to his neck, and his eyes were wide open.
After the Xie family went bankrupt, before the mansion was even auctioned off, word got out that there were countless priceless treasures inside.
Thugs came to rob the place, and Uncle Ling was killed trying to protect Xie Ning.
He had no children of his own.
The only way for Xie Ning to thank him was to always remember how he died. This was her way of reminding herself that a horrible person like her had to live a good life so she wouldn’t waste his sacrifice, even if this world was completely rotten.
“Buckle up,” Uncle Ling said, starting the engine.
The scenery outside the window kept moving back. The first falling leaf of autumn fluttered down and hit the windshield.
The breeze was cool and pleasant.
Xie Ning was a little surprised. It turned out that twenty years ago, Rongcheng was still a livable city, not a “Molten City” as it was later called.
The climate change was like boiling a frog in warm water, slowly wearing people down until they didn’t even realize the world was getting worse at a pace they couldn’t imagine. It was completely rotten!
And now, before everything got so bad, she had to do something.
She couldn’t wait another moment.
“Uncle Ling,” Xie Ning said.
“I want to go to the Su family’s house. Please take a detour and drop me off. Thank you.”
Ling Shen’an was surprised and turned to look at her.
After a long pause, Xie Ning met his gaze and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Ah, sorry,” the usually quiet Ling Shen’an suddenly started to stutter.
He stammered, “The… the Su family. Okay, we’ll leave right away!”
Xie Ning smiled faintly.
She realized that Uncle Ling used to be quite handsome.
