Rolling Around in the Villain's Arms (GL) - Chapter 3
Lan Ji chased after them from outside, holding the iron bowl.
Bai Tang smelled the foul odor from far away and was utterly terrified. She burrowed hard into Xiao Xinyue’s arms, wanting to disappear into her collar.
Xiao Xinyue completely froze.
A soft, furry ball was in her arms, and the unfamiliar body temperature made her uncomfortable.
Since gaining consciousness after birth, she had never been close to another person. Let alone a spirit beast, she had never touched any living creature.
Xiao Xinyue: “Get down!”
Lan Ji came over with the expressionless iron bowl: “You haven’t had dinner yet. You can play with your owner later.”
Owner?
Bai Tang was stunned.
Xiao Xinyue reacted even more strongly, her small face icy: “I haven’t acknowledged her as my spirit pet. I’m just temporarily keeping her.”
Lan Ji put down the iron bowl: “But you are letting her stay in your arms.”
Bai Tang saw the bloody meat and nearly threw up. The little villain smelled faintly of flowers, and Bai Tang used her small paws to pull hard at her clothes, wanting to get even closer.
Xiao Xinyue grabbed the scruff of her neck and placed her on the dining table.
Lan Ji: “Miss, you really are spoiling her.”
Xiao Xinyue was incredulous: “I’m spoiling her?”
“Your dress was messed up, and you didn’t punish her.”
Xiao Xinyue looked down and saw that her skirt had threads pulled out by claws, and a few light blue hairs were clinging to it.
She ground her back teeth, reaching her limit of patience. Without a word, she quickly left the dining room.
Lan Ji moved the iron bowl in front of Bai Tang: “The Young Lady is a germaphobe. She really is tolerating you.”
Bai Tang disagreed. She had felt a killing intent from the little villain just now, but right now, the person in front of her was the most terrifying.
She backed away, whimpering a few times, her expression full of reluctance.
Lan Ji was expressionless. She picked up a spoon nearby, scooped up a piece of bloody meat, and held it to Bai Tang’s mouth.
Bai Tang felt an unbearable urge to vomit, her stomach turning.
Xiao Xinyue changed her clothes and returned to the dining room, intending to teach the insolent spirit beast a lesson. Instead, she saw a light blue furball speeding toward her and scrambling up her body.
Xiao Xinyue: “!!”
Bai Tang climbed onto the little villain’s shoulder and sniffed the faint floral scent, finally suppressing the feeling of nausea.
Lan Ji looked over wryly: “She really does like you.”
Xiao Xinyue already had a bad temper, and being ridden by Bai Tang repeatedly pushed her to her limit. She grabbed the scruff of Bai Tang’s neck and stared into her sapphire eyes: “Charge at me again, and you won’t even know how you died.”
Hearing the word “die,” the fur on Bai Tang’s body instantly exploded like a dandelion, and her eyes were filled with terror.
Lan Ji: “You’ve scared her. She was only born a few days ago. Be careful, she might get stressed and pee on you.”
Xiao Xinyue was startled and immediately let go.
Bai Tang fell to the floor, but it didn’t hurt much. She still rubbed her bottom with her small paws, her movements adorably clumsy.
Lan Ji picked her up, kneading and stroking her head repeatedly, and said, “Good girl, let’s keep eating.”
Bai Tang: !!
She struggled desperately, but her strength was too small.
Xiao Xinyue glanced at Lan Ji. She still wore a cold face, but her words were surprising. Xiao Xinyue didn’t pay much attention to the change, only saying, “Make me another serving of dinner.”
Lan Ji noticed the plate was empty.
“Miss has a very good appetite today.”
Xiao Xinyue gave a lukewarm “En” and glanced at Bai Tang.
Bai Tang pretended not to receive her gaze, looking everywhere except at her.
Lan Ji put down Bai Tang. The Young Lady’s affairs were always her first priority: “I will go prepare your dinner immediately.”
Lan Ji left.
Bai Tang jumped off the dining table and walked out.
I’ve eaten, time to go back.
Xiao Xinyue noticed her leaving but couldn’t be bothered to intervene.
In less than twenty minutes, Lan Ji rolled the food cart over and placed a fresh steak in front of Xiao Xinyue.
Xiao Xinyue meticulously cut the steak while Lan Ji stood by, silently watching her.
Xiao Xinyue picked up the fork, put the sliced beef into her mouth, and bit into empty air.
She looked down and saw Bai Tang had returned without her noticing and had cleaned out the beef on her plate.
Xiao Xinyue’s expression was icy. The fork in her hand was unconsciously bent.
Bai Tang stuck out her tongue and licked her paws, looking completely satisfied. It had been so long since she had a normal meal that she couldn’t control herself.
Xiao Xinyue was furious: “Get out yourself, or should I throw you out!”
Bai Tang looked at her with watery blue eyes. Of course, I’ll slowly go back myself.
She jumped off the table, but before she could take two steps, Lan Ji picked her up.
Suddenly suspended in the air, she was a bit disoriented and whined a few times.
Lan Ji was expressionless: “So it was you who ate the Young Lady’s dinner both times.”
Bai Tang blinked her big eyes, feigning innocence.
Lan Ji placed her back on the dining table: “A disobedient spirit pet needs punishment. Young Lady, you mustn’t spoil her too much, or she will develop the habit of stealing your food.”
Xiao Xinyue glanced at her: “I spoil her? What gave you that impression? I don’t like her.”
“If I’m not mistaken, both servings of dinner were eaten by this little one. For any other spirit beast, you likely would have killed it already.”
“Are you reminding me to kill her? This spirit beast was forced upon me by you people. You’re right, I should kill her.”
Bai Tang bit her paw.
She grew up perfectly fine in the original novel. Why is everyone talking about killing so much now?
She rolled over, exposing her soft belly, making soft noises, and staring at Xiao Xinyue with unwavering sapphire eyes.
Xiao Xinyue remained unmoved.
It was Lan Ji who couldn’t help but stroke her belly twice.
Bai Tang immediately flipped over and ran away, jumping off the table and rubbing herself against Xiao Xinyue’s foot.
Lan Ji looked disappointed: “She really likes you. She only actively rubs against you.”
This little action pleased Xiao Xinyue, and her lips curved slightly: “She just doesn’t want to die.”
Bai Tang, whose secret was exposed, froze for a moment, then jumped onto her leg and actively rubbed against her again.
Lan Ji restrained the urge to touch her and said, “She was just born a few days ago. How could she understand what we’re saying?”
Bai Tang was practically nodding her head.
She let out sweet, soft, cooing sounds of affection.
Xiao Xinyue looked at the soft mass in her arms and ultimately decided not to chase her away.
Lan Ji: “Should we give her a name?”
Giving her a name would undoubtedly acknowledge her as her spirit pet. Xiao Xinyue felt inexplicably resistant. She didn’t have much against Bai Tang, but because she was forced upon her by Xiao Jue, she subconsciously rejected her, no matter how powerful the spirit beast was.
“I don’t need a spirit pet.”
“But she really likes you.”
Xiao Xinyue stood up: “I don’t need one.”
Bai Tang followed closely behind her.
It wasn’t that she desperately wanted to be her spirit pet; she needed to stay close to the little villain to find an opportunity to kill her.
Xiao Xinyue walked a few steps and noticed the little tail following her.
Bai Tang padded along on her short legs, her fluffy tail swaying, looking soft and adorable.
Xiao Xinyue stopped and looked back at her.
Bai Tang also stopped and pressed against her.
Xiao Xinyue walked two more steps.
Bai Tang took several hurried steps on her short legs, only stopping when she was right behind her heel, as if afraid Xiao Xinyue would abandon her.
Lan Ji was behind them, her eyes following Bai Tang. She was completely charmed; how could there be such a cute spirit beast?
Xiao Xinyue looked down at her: “You want to be my spirit pet so badly?”
I don’t really want to be, but the closer I am, the easier it is to kill.
Bai Tang nodded her small head. It’s truly like being next to a tiger.
Xiao Xinyue crouched down in front of her, seriously examining the spirit beast for the first time. The soft, adorable furball simply could not be associated with a powerful spirit beast.
The light blue fur looked soft, her sapphire eyes were like jewels, and her two ears were very cute. Especially the small horn just peeking out on her forehead, it added a touch of naïve charm, making her the very definition of cuteness.
Bai Tang felt spooked by the deep gaze of Xiao Xinyue.
But looking at the little villain up close, she saw her eyelashes were thick and long, and her fair face was truly beautiful. Unfortunately, when she grew up, she would be the great villain who destroyed the world.
She looked like a villain even now.
In short, she’s terrifying.
“Woof woof.”
Haven’t you looked enough?
Spirit beasts are a powerful aid. Even humans without magical talent, if they have the means, will pay a high price for a spirit beast to protect themselves in times of danger. Xiao Xinyue had never thought about owning one.
But seeing Bai Tang constantly following her, she wavered.
She had never had a close person since childhood. Her mother died because of her, her father hated her, and Lan Ji, the only one by her side, was just sent by her father to care for her. She didn’t even know if Lan Ji stayed willingly.
And this silly beast chose her, willingly.
Xiao Xinyue gathered water elements into an ice needle and pricked her index finger. A drop of bright red blood appeared on the fingertip.
Bai Tang was taken aback.
Why is the little villain hurting herself?
Xiao Xinyue: “Lick it.”
Bai Tang hesitated and struggled for a moment, afraid of displeasing the little villain. She finally held her index finger in her mouth. The sweet, metallic taste spread across her tongue.
Xiao Xinyue pulled her hand away, uncomfortable with the stickiness on her fingertip.
Lan Ji thoughtfully offered a damp handkerchief.
Xiao Xinyue took it and wiped her finger clean.
Bai Tang: “……”
She’s so disgusted. I was disgusted too.
But her body seemed to have undergone a strange change; there seemed to be a connection forming at the soul level.
Lan Ji was surprised: “Miss, you didn’t need to form a Blood Contract.”
Xiao Xinyue didn’t reply.
Bai Tang was dumbfounded. The Blood Contract was the most egalitarian contract, where neither party was absolutely oppressed by the other. However, to sever the contract, one party must die. She remembered they formed a Master-Servant Contract in the original novel. Since she transmigrated, a deviation was normal.
Now she had one more reason to kill the little villain: the contract could only be broken if she died.
Xiao Xinyue stood up: “From now on, you’ll be called Xiao Bai.” (Little White)
Xiao Bai? That’s practically a puppy’s name!
She disagreed!
Bai Tang jumped up and cried out in agitation.
Xiao Xinyue ignored her, turning to leave, but her stomach inconveniently rumbled.
Xiao Xinyue: “……”
Her young face flushed red, showing the shyness appropriate for her age.
Lan Ji held back a laugh: “I’ll prepare you another serving of dinner.”
Xiao Xinyue said nothing, not refusing.
Bai Tang pawed at Lan Ji.
Lan Ji understood: “And your spirit pet. She seems to dislike raw meat, just like you?”
Xiao Xinyue: “Whatever.”
She implicitly accepted the fact that Bai Tang was her spirit pet.
Bai Tang spun around happily. Finally, no more bloody raw meat.
Lan Ji prepared a high chair for her. She sat next to Xiao Xinyue, waiting for dinner.
Bai Tang picked up the iron fork next to her. It was too heavy, and her paws weren’t dexterous. After holding it for barely two seconds, the fork dropped into the plate with a loud clatter.
How embarrassing.
Bai Tang secretly glanced at Xiao Xinyue.
Xiao Xinyue ignored her.
Bai Tang tried hard to pick up the fork again. She didn’t want to really eat like a spirit beast, head down, mouth open. The previous time didn’t count because she was too hungry.
Bai Tang tried several more times, creating several clanking noises.
She secretly looked at Xiao Xinyue again. Xiao Xinyue surprisingly showed no reaction, only staring at the plate in front of her. She had expected the little villain to scold her.
As Bai Tang struggled to pick up the fork, she noticed that Xiao Xinyue was constantly covering her stomach with her hand. A subtle stubbornness showed on her young face. Bai Tang suddenly realized she was trying to prevent her stomach from rumbling.
It’s normal for your stomach to growl when you’re hungry.
The little villain is so self-conscious about it.
She’s actually a pretty cute kid.
Lan Ji wheeled the dinner over, the meat fragrant.
Bai Tang’s eyes immediately lit up.
Lan Ji portioned the dinner and stepped aside.
The meat patty in front of Bai Tang was more than twice the size of Xiao Xinyue’s. She swallowed her saliva, tried to pick up the fork, but it dropped, uncontrollable. She was too tempted by the delicious food. She climbed onto the dining table and started eating directly with her mouth.
She ate until meat sauce was all over her mouth and face. Her adorable little face was messy with sauce.
Xiao Xinyue always ate quietly. This was the first time there had been so much commotion next to her, making it impossible to ignore.
She finished chewing the food in her mouth and coldly looked at her: “Glutton.”
Bai Tang’s movements stopped.
I guess I did eat quite a lot. I’ll just take that as a compliment to my appetite.
She grinned, showing her two small, pointed teeth. Sauce covered her little face, and her sapphire eyes shone brightly.
Lan Ji wanted to reach out and stroke her head but restrained herself: “Xiao Bai is very cute.”
Xiao Xinyue withdrew her gaze: “She’s alright.”
Just average cuteness.
