Substitute Lover [Entertainment Industry] - Chapter 66
The black partition rose slowly, creating a secluded little space in the back of the car.
It was dark and soundproof.
As soon as the door closed, a torrent of kisses descended.
Ji Fan tilted her head, forcefully gripping the other’s wrist, and leaned down to press her lips against the other’s. It was as if she were desperately trying to prove something, her breaths coming out in rapid, shallow gasps, carrying a faint, refreshing scent.
Jiang Cha opened her eyes and met a pair of bright eyes, hidden in long hair, shining like stars, so close.
She tried to push Ji Fan away.
The kiss was urgent and forceful. Jiang Cha’s heart tightened, and then she suddenly felt the other’s arms wrap around her waist. As if afraid that she would escape, the other held her tightly, unable to be questioned or opposed, pressing her chest down, as if trying to crush her.
Jiang Cha felt a little suffocated. She tried to push the other away, frowning, even biting down, but Ji Fan wouldn’t let go. Jiang Cha was tired, and didn’t want to make too much noise. Her head was a little dizzy, so she let the other do as she pleased.
She closed her eyes, neither resisting nor responding.
As if she were asleep.
Ji Fan kissed her, and the panic in her heart grew even stronger. For a moment, she felt a sense of helpless confusion.
She raised her head and looked down at Jiang Cha quietly, seeing that in the dim light, Jiang Cha had her eyes half-closed, her expression calm and indifferent, and she didn’t react much.
Ji Fan’s fingertips traced Jiang Cha’s cheek, then down, sliding over her neck.
And then lower.
Her hand lifted the fabric of her clothes and pressed it against Jiang Cha’s waist. The cool, tender waist, like a willow leaf, was pressed down forcefully by her. Her fingertips carried a hint of heat, stroking back and forth, as if they were about to burn into her heart.
Ji Fan pressed against her ear and said word by word, her red lips exhaling hot breath, “You think I wouldn’t dare, do you?”
Her fingers slithered upwards like a snake, step by step.
Her fingers slid to her smooth spine and rested on the metal clasp.
Jiang Cha paused.
Ji Fan watched Jiang Cha’s reaction carefully, her heart pounding.
Jiang Cha simply grabbed her wrist, turned over, and faced the window, saying indifferently, “Don’t talk.” She frowned, her snow-white side profile flushed slightly, not sure if it was because she was drunk, “I’m so sleepy.”
Ji Fan: “…..”
She felt a sense of powerless anxiety in her heart.
She wanted to prove something, desperately but helplessly, but the only person who could give her an answer seemed completely unaware of her anxiety, and still remained indifferent.
Jiang Cha propped her chin up, turned her head slightly, and fell asleep facing the window.
Some people would become drunk and talkative, while others would suddenly become very quiet. But Jiang Cha, she didn’t have any abnormal reactions at all, she just wanted to sleep.
Ji Fan quietly looked at her sleeping face, so innocent and harmless.
But she didn’t know what to do.
Ji Fan leaned against the black leather backrest, a strand of long hair wet from the rain draped over her side face.
She closed her eyes wearily.
••••
The rain had stopped after a brief shower.
A fresh, faint scent of grass and trees filled the air, mingling with the cool, dampness of the post-rain atmosphere.
Several women, pushing strollers, chatted and strolled, while the sound of children playing drifted from a distance. All of this was framed by the gray car window, as if in another world.
The car drove along the asphalt road, circled the apartment building, and entered the garage.
The light dimmed instantly.
Ji Fan nudged Jiang Cha: “We’re here.”
Jiang Cha opened her eyes groggily, her clear black eyes filled with a hint of confusion. She glanced out the window and said, “It was so fast.”
The driver opened the door for her. Ji Fan got out and went around to open the right-side door.
Jiang Cha didn’t move for a long time.
Ji Fan said, “Do you want me to carry you out?”
Jiang Cha glanced at her, tilted her head, and said, “Okay.”
Ji Fan seemed a little surprised, and a trace of uncertainty appeared in her usually indifferent eyes. Then she leaned closer, bent down, took Jiang Cha’s hand with one hand, and wrapped her arm around Jiang Cha’s waist. With a slight pull, she pulled Jiang Cha out of the car.
She closed the car door neatly.
“Can you stand steady?” Ji Fan asked.
Jiang Cha shook her head and whispered, “I can stand. I just don’t want to walk.”
Something was off about Jiang Cha.
She had never been like this before.
Whenever she saw Ji Fan, she would avoid her from a distance, as if afraid of even touching her. Even giving her a glance seemed like too much. The last time Ji Fan had forcibly kissed her at her door, Jiang Cha had bitten her and her eyes had been as cold as ice.
She must be drunk.
But to what extent, Ji Fan couldn’t be sure.
The garage was empty, with only the occasional car driving in and taking a turn to the other side. In the vast space, even a slightly louder voice would echo. Jiang Cha’s soft voice carried a hint of doubt as she frowned: “Didn’t you say you would carry me back?”
Ji Fan’s heart tightened, and her black and white eyes looked at her quietly, her gaze deep. She took Jiang Cha’s hand and put it on her neck, then half-embraced her, supporting her waist, and walked into the elevator entrance.
The soft yellow light spilled down.
Jiang Cha’s soft, white cheeks turned a gentle shade of pink, and her eyes were a little hazy.
‘She is a little drunk,’ Ji Fan thought to herself as she looked at Jiang Cha.
Truth comes out when one is drunk, an old saying went. Perhaps this was her chance to ask Jiang Cha and gauge her feelings – what was she really thinking?
Did she really want a divorce?
Had she truly let go?
And that woman surnamed Bai, who knew what her background was?
How dare she so openly compete with her for Jiang Cha.
How did Jiang Cha feel about this woman surnamed Bai?
Were there lingering feelings?
Jiang Cha didn’t understand what was going on with Ji Fan.
Ji Fan stood beside her, a strand of her thick hair falling over her side profile, her expression quiet and silent. Her fair cheek was slightly flushed, and her earlobes were particularly red.
The elevator door opened, and Jiang Cha leaned against Ji Fan softly.
Ji Fan wrapped her arm around Jiang Cha’s waist, feeling the gentle weight and warmth of another person, her heart skipped a beat.
Between being awake and drowsy, Jiang Cha felt too weak to do anything. All she wanted was to sleep.
Finally, they arrived home, and Jiang Cha fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
But Ji Fan, oblivious to this, suddenly leaned in and whispered in her ear, “Get up. Wash your face. Take a shower.”
Ji Fan was lying beside her pillow, making some noise.
Jiang Cha turned over.
Ji Fan pulled the covers off her and then grabbed her wrist.
Jiang Cha sat up, frowning, and glared at her.
She looked like a child throwing a tantrum.
“I want to sleep,” Jiang Cha said slowly.
“Okay,” Ji Fan paused, “then answer me a few questions, and I’ll let you sleep.”
Jiang Cha didn’t say anything, just looked at her.
Ji Fan leaned gently against the bed, turning her head. The moonlight illuminated her eyes for a moment, her black and white eyes were exceptionally bright, but with a hint of inquiry, reflecting a fragmented light.
“Are you drunk?” Ji Fan asked.
Jiang Cha shook her head, “I’m not drunk, I’m just tired.”
Jiang Cha’s expression softened, revealing a rare childishness. The cold shell she had always worn seemed to quietly slip away, revealing the softness within, a genuine loveliness.
“What do you think of that woman surnamed Bai?”
Ji Fan sat gently on the edge of her bed, turning on a bedside lamp, its soft, bright glow illuminating Jiang Cha’s delicate chin.
Jiang Cha quietly looked at Ji Fan.
“She’s pretty good.”
Jiang Cha said.
Ji Fan gritted her teeth, but her expression remained calm.
She continued to ask, “How did you two get along before, huh?”
Ji Fan inched closer, her nose touching her cheek, and her red lips pressed against her ear, saying, “Childhood sweethearts? Childhood friends?”
Jiang Cha didn’t say a word.
Ji Fan was dissatisfied, her brow furrowed slightly. She stared at Jiang Cha and asked word by word, “You’re admitting it? She’s your childhood sweetheart, then what about me, what am I?”
Jiang Cha raised her eyes, her eyes clear and bright, showing no sign of evasion, staring straight at her. Such a frank and direct gaze actually made Ji Fan’s heart tighten slightly. She suddenly lowered her head, as if trying to hide something.
Jiang Cha smiled lightly, “You’re Ji Fan.”
Ji Fan pursed her lips, still not getting an answer.
“If we weren’t married, and you had to choose one, who would you choose?”
She glared at Jiang Cha, her eyes exceptionally bright and dazzling in the night.
Jiang Cha: “……”
Ji Fan’s long hair was tousled by the night wind, and her face was slightly pale. Her expression fell for a moment.
“That’s your answer.” Ji Fan said softly, “What does it mean that you don’t answer?”
She paused, leaned forward, and said, “If you keep this up, I’m going to bully you.”
Jiang Cha suddenly stopped talking.
She had long hair hanging down, quiet and still, like a rag doll, but her brows were still cold, and she couldn’t see any expression. Ji Fan felt that she had said the wrong thing and had crossed the line. Although Jiang Cha was drunk, she could still distinguish the facts and understand her thoughts.
Ji Fan’s fingertips curled up slightly, not knowing how to remedy the situation, she just silently looked at her.
After a long time, Jiang Cha suddenly smiled lightly.
“How are you going to bully me?”
Ji Fan’s heart tightened.
She leaned towards Jiang Cha, her tall nose touching her cheek, on and off.
She looked at Jiang Cha incredulously, and asked, “Do you know what I mean? Are you still awake? Jiang Cha, you, you want to too, don’t you…”
Jiang Cha just looked at her.
Ji Fan took off her coat, hung the blue long windbreaker on the coat rack, turned around, and sat on the side of the bed. She was wearing a slightly cool shirt, and her long legs were crossed casually and casually.
The light delicately outlined her ice-jade-like chin, her tall nose, and her long eyelashes. At the moment when the light and shadow overlapped, the whole person had a unique temperament, deep and moving.
She leaned forward slightly, her eyes slightly darker: “Aren’t you sleepy now?”
The two were very close, as if another inch and their lips would touch.
Jiang Cha’s arm, as white as jade, instantly wrapped around Ji Fan’s neck, and her red lips moved to her ear, breathing softly, “Want to take a shower?”
Her soft hair draped over her shoulder, and her whole person was like a glass of wine, soft, fragrant, and a little spicy.
Ji Fan’s heart tightened, “Together?”
But the next second, Jiang Cha let go of her.
“Forget it, I won’t wash anymore. I’m so sleepy.”
Jiang Cha reached out, turned off the light, curled up in the quilt, and kicked Ji Fan with her toes sticking out of the quilt, “You’re so noisy, it’s annoying, get out.”
