Targeted by the Movie Queen - Chapter 4
Shen Chuxia clutched her shoulder without speaking, her face unusually pale.
Su Zi was right—there was indeed a tattoo like that on her shoulder…
She had long forgotten the origin of that tattoo, always assuming it was natural, never imagining it could be like this.
“Chuxia, would you mind showing me?”
As Li Man spoke, Shen Chuxia instinctively took half a step back, her eyes fixed on Su Zi.
“What exactly is our relationship…?”
Su Zi answered, “I’m your fiancée, and also your girlfriend.”
Shen Chuxia bit her lip, staring at Su Zi’s serious expression, unable to believe it. Yet Su Zi’s face was so earnest, completely unlike someone lying.
But… in her memories, there was truly nothing about Su Zi.
“But… I really don’t remember ever meeting you,” Shen Chuxia replied blankly.
Su Zi’s face paled upon hearing this.
“Xiao Chu…”
Li Man frowned at the sight.
“Su Zi, step outside for now. Let me talk to her, and I’ll call you back in later.”
“Alright.” Su Zi turned to leave, and Shen Chuxia watched her retreating figure in silence, an inexplicable pang tightening in her chest.
“You really don’t remember her?” Li Man asked, studying Shen Chuxia.
Shen Chuxia pressed her lips together and nodded. “Mm… There’s nothing about her in my memories.”
Li Man fell silent, her brows slightly furrowed.
“I understand. I’ll look into this first. For now, change your clothes and go see the director.”
“What about Su Zi…?” Shen Chuxia didn’t know why she asked about Su Zi, but the image of her despondent figure just now made her chest feel heavy.
“I’ll talk to her.”
“Mm…”
Shen Chuxia nodded, and Li Man handed her a bag.
“I know you didn’t bring spare clothes. There’s a change of clothes and toiletries inside—Su Zi asked me to prepare them for you.”
“Mm… Thank you.” Shen Chuxia took the bag and glanced inside, immediately noticing that the style and color of the undergarments matched exactly what she usually wore.
“If you want to thank someone, thank her.”
“I understand.”
Shen Chuxia gripped the bag tightly without another word. When she finished changing and stepped out, Li Man was no longer in the room—instead, Su Zi, who had just left, was there.
Su Zi stood with her back to Shen Chuxia by the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing outside. Hearing Shen Chuxia emerge; she turned to look at her.
“Xiao Chu…”
“Thank you for the clothes. I’ll wash and return them to you.” As Shen Chuxia spoke, she suddenly found herself pulled into an embrace.
“You really don’t remember me…?”
“I… I’m sorry…”
Shen Chuxia didn’t know why she apologized, but the words had already slipped out before she could stop them.
“I don’t want apologies. Xiao Chu, is this how you’re punishing me…? Do you still resent me, pretending not to remember me on purpose?”
“I’m not.” Shen Chuxia lowered her head with a quiet sigh.
Su Zi’s arms around her gradually loosened, her strength fading. She rested her head against Shen Chuxia’s shoulder before tightening her hold again.
“Xiao Chu… If this is a joke, please stop. I can’t bear you looking at me with unfamiliar eyes—it hurts too much…”
“Everything in the past was my fault, I promise it won’t happen again. If you want to punish me, can we choose a different punishment? I’ll listen to whatever you say, just don’t pretend not to know me anymore… This isn’t fun at all…”
