The Anti-Alpha Protagonist is Exceptionally Biased Towards Me (GL) - Chapter 17
The sunlight outside the vet clinic was perfect. The front door was wide open, and specks of dust were faintly visible floating in the air of the first-floor lobby.
Perhaps because the weather was too hot, or perhaps because she felt stifled, Song Xinran felt like she couldn’t breathe. As soon as she stepped out of the clinic, she pulled off the mask she was wearing and threw it in a nearby trash can.
It was obvious that Song Xinran was not happy right now.
Behind her, Gu Yu saw this scene. She lowered her eyes, thinking, Miss Song really minds what the doctor said.
After all, she remembered from the original novel that Miss Song hated alphas. Even toward the other scum male protagonist alpha in the original book, Miss Song only felt intense hatred.
And she, of course, was no exception to Miss Song.
Gu Yu began to wonder, Since Miss Song minds so much, should I keep my distance from her?
Song Xinran had no idea what Gu Yu was thinking. She had already contacted the Song family driver. The driver was very efficient and had already parked the car near the vet clinic and was waiting.
When he saw Song Xinran, he quickly drove the car over. The window rolled down, and he respectfully called out, “Young Miss.”
Then he got out and opened the back door for Song Xinran.
After she bent down and got in, he turned to look at Gu Yu. Seeing that she was just standing there and was an alpha, he subconsciously assumed she wasn’t with Song Xinran and was about to close the car door.
The next second, he heard the young miss say to the alpha, “Gu Yu, get in.”
The driver’s eyelid twitched. He immediately moved to the side, giving Gu Yu room to get in the car.
The kitten was in a cat carrier. Gu Yu was holding it in her hand. Through the black mesh, you could see the cat curled up comfortably inside.
Gu Yu stood there, and upon hearing her, she held the carrier and said, “No need to trouble yourself, Miss Song. I can take a taxi back on my own.”
The alpha’s tone was polite but with a hint of distance, which made a flame of frustration burn in Song Xinran’s heart.
For some reason, she really disliked Gu Yu speaking to her in that tone. So she said again, “Get in.”
Gu Yu still didn’t move.
The driver on the side watched this scene and guessed that with the young miss’s usual personality, she would now sneer, say, “Get in or don’t,” and then tell him to drive away haughtily.
But the reality proved him wrong. Song Xinran didn’t leave. Instead, she continued, “It’s so hot outside, and you’ll have to wait a few minutes for a taxi. We’re both going back to the film set anyway, so why go through all that trouble?”
Gu Yu shook her head and said, “I’m not going to the film set right away.”
Song Xinran was stunned. “What? Where are you going?”
Gu Yu glanced at the cat carrier in her hand. “I want to find a shelter.”
Song Xinran hadn’t expected that answer. “You’re going to put the cat up for adoption?”
Gu Yu didn’t say anything, which was a silent affirmation.
After Song Xinran understood why Gu Yu didn’t want to get in the car, her mood strangely improved a little. The frustration in her heart subsided. She said, “I thought you were going to keep it.”
After all, this vet clinic was in a good location, so the cost of treatment wouldn’t be cheap.
Gu Yu pursed her lips, listening to the occasional “meow” from the carrier. After a moment, she said, “I can’t raise it, and I don’t know how to.”
In her past life, she was too busy and tired. Just taking care of herself was exhausting, not to mention having a pet. Even when she finally achieved some success in the entertainment industry, she didn’t dare to stop. There was always a string that was tightly pulled in her heart.
The situation was better after she transmigrated. She consciously adjusted her mindset, but now that she was on the Path of Immortals set, it was still not a good time to have a pet.
Song Xinran asked, “Have you found a suitable shelter? I can take you there.”
After saying that, she awkwardly added, “Don’t get me wrong. It’s just a favor.”
“Not yet.”
When Song Xinran heard this, she didn’t know what she was thinking. She suddenly said, “Then just leave the cat at my house for now. My house is very big, and it’s no trouble to temporarily take in a cat.”
“Besides, the lunch break is almost over. It’ll probably be too late to find a reliable shelter. You can go look for one after you’re done filming or when you have time?”
Gu Yu’s eyes trembled slightly. She couldn’t help but look into the car. Through the open car door, she didn’t meet Song Xinran’s eyes. The other person seemed to be deliberately avoiding eye contact with her.
Miss Song looked straight ahead and raised her hand to pull the long hair that was tucked behind her ear down, covering a small part of her face.
“Gu Yu, don’t rush to refuse… Think of it as a gift of thanks.”
“A gift of thanks for the mask.”

In the afternoon, someone from Xingchen Entertainment arrived.
As luck would have it, Gu Yu and Song Xinran had just returned to the film set from outside, and they ran into them head-on.
The woman at the front was wearing a black pantsuit. Her hair was shoulder-length. She was young and capable.
When she saw Song Xinran, she showed a polite, professional smile. But when her gaze moved to Gu Yu, it paused for a second, as if she had seen something that surprised her.
But this emotion was gone in a flash.
Then, she walked straight toward Song Xinran. The black high heels she was wearing made a crisp “tap-tap” sound on the ground.
She walked up to Song Xinran and said, “Hello, Miss Song. I’m Guan Licen from Xingchen Entertainment. The President sent me.”
Song Xinran replied, “Hello. I remember you.”
Song Xinran had seen her a few times. She was a senior manager at Xingchen Entertainment, a beta, who had graduated from a prestigious university. In just a few years, she had risen to a management position based on her outstanding abilities. She was the capable subordinate her sister had mentioned.
Guan Licen’s facial features, when looked at individually, were not particularly outstanding, but put together, they gave her an inexplicable sense of grace and integrity. All in all, she fit the stereotype of an elite professional.
Guan Licen’s smile remained unchanged. “It’s my honor to be remembered by Miss Song.”
This polite chitchat didn’t last long. Guan Licen quickly led her people away to strengthen security as requested.
When they were leaving, whether it was her imagination or not, Gu Yu felt that Manager Guan had looked at her again, and her gaze was very meaningful.
Gu Yu’s brows furrowed slightly. When she looked back, she saw that the other person had already looked away.

On the other side, after walking a certain distance, the person next to Guan Licen asked curiously, “Manager Guan, was that the President’s sister, the young miss of the Song family?”
Guan Licen said, “Yes.”
Then the person who asked the question sighed. “The young miss is just as good-looking as a celebrity. But the alpha next to the young miss is also very attractive.”
Guan Licen heard her sigh. She didn’t know what she was thinking, but the corners of her lips, which were painted with a light-colored lipstick, curled up slightly. Her smile was ambiguous. “Indeed.”
After all, if it weren’t for that face, she wouldn’t have been patient enough to chat with her online for so long and transfer so much money.
She silently thought about the alpha’s name. A hint of excitement flashed in her eyes.
Gu Yu, I never thought the first time I’d see you in person would be at this time and place.
Things are getting more and more interesting.
