The Anti-Alpha Protagonist is Exceptionally Biased Towards Me (GL) - Chapter 26
“What?”
“You’ll know if you check Weibo right now. Your aunt’s crew has several trending topics.”
Upon hearing this, Song Xinran stayed on the call, put it on speaker, and switched to the Weibo app.
She rarely used this app and was still a bit unfamiliar with it. She was in the process of unchecking the boxes for the bloggers the system had automatically followed for her.
While she was doing this, Xu Ru’s voice came through the phone’s earpiece.
“So, did you see it?” Xu Ru asked. She seemed very interested in this matter. “Isn’t it a coincidence? This alpha named Gu Yu…”
Halfway through her sentence, she added, in case Song Xinran didn’t remember, “She’s the one who went viral because of a picture last time. She’s actually on your aunt’s crew.”
“I remember you even saved her picture on your phone before…”
Before she could finish, Song Xinran interrupted uncomfortably. “I did that by mistake.”
“Okay, okay, by mistake, by mistake,” Xu Ru thought to herself, wondering why she was reacting so strongly, but she continued. “But I’m kind of curious. You go to your aunt’s set all the time. Have you seen her?”
At this point, Song Xinran still hadn’t gotten to the app’s main page. She didn’t know why Xu Ru kept mentioning Gu Yu, but hearing this, her thoughts couldn’t help but wander.
She thought to herself, Not only have I seen her, but last night, we even hugged. We were so close. The alpha’s body temperature still feels like it’s on me.
But then she thought of the scene of Gu Yu and Ming Xin standing together today, and her heart began to feel heavy again.
“I didn’t notice.” Her tone was a little annoyed.
“No way. That alpha is quite good-looking. You have no impression of her at all?”
“Right, I almost forgot you hate alphas. Why would you pay attention to her?”
These few words left Song Xinran speechless.
After a while, Song Xinran finally got to the Weibo homepage. It was only then that she understood why Xu Ru kept saying Gu Yu’s name.
Looking at the several trending topics and the flood of criticism against Gu Yu, her face immediately sank. Her voice was tinged with anger.
“Who posted these things?”
Xu Ru hadn’t reacted yet. “What?”
“All this stuff on Weibo.”
“I don’t know. It must be some marketing accounts, but I don’t know where they got the information.”
She heard the anger in Song Xinran’s tone and mistakenly thought the other person was worried about her aunt, Liu Yanxi. She comforted her. “You don’t have to worry. Your aunt has been in the entertainment industry for so many years. She definitely has her own plans and ways of handling this.”
“Of course, I know that,” Song Xinran said as her fingers kept scrolling down. She found the insults to be very harsh.
Of course, she knew her aunt would have her own way of handling things, and she could even guess the specific process. After all, her older sister was the president of Xingchen Entertainment, and she had a good understanding of the industry from being around her.
She knew…
But, looking at the words in the Weibo comments section that were relentlessly insulting a certain alpha, she felt very unhappy. It was like a ball of fire was burning in her heart, making her feel irritable.
She said to Xu Ru, “Don’t you follow a lot of celebrities? I’ll transfer you a million. Can you help me hire some online trolls?”
She looked at her phone screen, her eyes turning cold. “Whoever insults the crew, tell those trolls to insult them back.”
She didn’t want to interfere with her aunt’s decisions, but she could at least have people fight back.

On the set, Ming Xin was also discussing with Gu Yu. After this incident, her awkwardness had faded.
She asked, “How are you planning to handle this?”
Gu Yu said, “I’ve already reached an agreement with Director Liu. We’ll just follow the crew’s arrangements.”
It wasn’t that Gu Yu didn’t have a way to handle this, but she was just an unpopular artist with no representative works. She didn’t have a strong public relations team behind her, and Xingchen Entertainment wasn’t a charity. It wouldn’t just stick its neck out for her.
Letting Liu Yanxi handle this and letting the situation develop and the popularity soar to increase the show’s exposure was the best option.
Ming Xin was a little surprised by Gu Yu’s calmness. Although she seemed naive on the outside, she wasn’t stupid after being in the entertainment industry for so many years. She naturally knew how to handle things in the best way. But she hadn’t expected Gu Yu, who was practically a newcomer, to also realize this.
She looked at the alpha next to her, who was still standing tall in her costume. She said, “Gu Yu, it seems like no matter what happens, you can stay calm. How do you do that?”
Gu Yu didn’t answer the question. Instead, she pondered for a moment, then suddenly asked, “Ming Xin, I want to ask you something. Do you know your assistant well?”
“What?”
The topic changed so fast that Ming Xin couldn’t keep up. After two seconds, she answered honestly, “I don’t know her very well. After my last assistant had an incident, Sister Chen arranged for a new one. Xiao Xue doesn’t talk much, but she’s quite meticulous in her work.” Xiao Xue was her assistant’s nickname.
“What’s wrong?” Seeing Gu Yu’s serious expression, she also became a little nervous.
Gu Yu didn’t say much. She just called her assistant, Yang Tian, over and had her repeat what she had said before to Ming Xin.
After hearing it, the curve of Ming Xin’s lips, which usually held a faint smile, flattened. “I didn’t know about this… I’ll call Sister Chen back later and have her look into it. If it’s really true…”
She pursed her lips, and her apricot eyes were firm. “Then I’ll fire her.”
It was an unwritten rule in the industry that fans shouldn’t be assistants, because there were too many hidden dangers. If the person was a sasaeng fan, the consequences would be even more unimaginable.
Gu Yu didn’t comment further. She had Yang Tian leave, then said, “Ming Xin, do you still remember the graffiti at the hotel?”
Ming Xin’s fingers, which were by her side, visibly trembled. She obviously hadn’t forgotten about it. “I remember…”
The red paint was too shocking, and the sick words—how could she easily forget?
Connecting this to what Gu Yu had just said, she had a strong premonition. She slightly lifted her eyelids and met Gu Yu’s eyes.
The background was the noisy chatter of the crew, but for some reason, she felt like the air had solidified, because she heard Gu Yu say, “Do you still remember the handkerchief your assistant gave you? If that assistant is really your fan… Have someone go to the place where you keep your fan gifts and see if there’s an identical one.”
She remembered Ming Xin mentioning before that she had a special place to store fan gifts.
Generally, someone would be responsible for registering the gifts fans send, and that person was usually the assistant. This was why she hadn’t been suspicious when Xiao Xue handed her the handkerchief with the fan’s signature.
But if Xiao Xue was really her fan, would the handkerchief have really come from the room where fan gifts were kept?
Gu Yu’s voice continued, “Regarding the hotel incident, I’ve been thinking about something. If the other surveillance cameras didn’t capture a suspicious person, then maybe…”
“…that sasaeng fan was on the same floor as us?”
Even though it was a hot summer day and she was wearing a heavy costume, Ming Xin still shivered. Her skin uncontrollably broke out in goosebumps.
She was smart and easily connected the events together.
“Y-you mean…” She didn’t dare to continue.
“It’s just a suspicion. So have someone check the room where you keep the gifts and see if there’s an identical handkerchief,” Gu Yu said.
Normally, a fan would only make one handmade gift, because it was too time-consuming. But some fans might make an extra one for themselves as a souvenir.
However, a sasaeng fan couldn’t be viewed with normal logic. Some sasaeng fans get excited when the person they like uses something of theirs. They will collect everything that is the same as the things the person they like has, and in doing so, they can further their fantasies.
If the registered gifts weren’t missing, then the handkerchief with the “m” that Assistant Xiao Xue handed her was very suspicious.
Gu Yu never believed in so many coincidences in the world.
Ming Xin also thought of this. Her eyelashes trembled, and a hint of panic spread in her heart because of this speculation.
“I…” She looked up and met Gu Yu’s gaze. Gu Yu’s eyes were dark and bright. The crew’s lights reflected in them, looking like a calm lake at night. Looking at her, Ming Xin’s heart temporarily settled a little.
She picked up her phone and said, “Okay, I’ll call Sister Chen now.”
Ming Xin went to the side to make a phone call. Gu Yu looked away and reached for her own phone.
The screen lit up. The message bar showed that someone had sent her a message five minutes ago.
The sender was “Manager Guan.”
It was Guan Licen. As soon as Gu Yu had found out her real identity, she had changed the name.
The other person asked in the chat, “How’s it going, Xiao Yu? Do you need Big Sister to help you with the Weibo situation?”
When she saw the name “Xiao Yu,” Gu Yu frowned uncomfortably.
She typed back, “No need to trouble yourself, Manager Guan. If it’s not necessary, I hope we can keep our distance.”
The trending topic didn’t occupy too much of Gu Yu’s mind. She was still focused on filming.
Ming Xin, on the other hand, seemed a little distracted because of the assistant situation.
Seeing that they had mostly finished the day’s progress, Liu Yanxi simply let everyone finish early and rest.
••••
On the way back to her room, Gu Yu was alone. Her assistant, Yang Tian, didn’t live on the same floor as her.
The elevator’s number slowly went up, finally stopping at 5.
The silver doors opened. An omega outside the elevator had been looking at her phone. When the elevator arrived, she finally looked up, revealing a bright and bold face. She and an alpha in the elevator made eye contact.
Neither of them had expected to see each other. They were both stunned, and they both blurted out the other’s name at the same time.
“Gu Yu.”
“Miss Song.”
