The Anti-Alpha Protagonist is Exceptionally Biased Towards Me (GL) - Chapter 27
Their voices overlapped in surprising harmony.
The hotel corridor was empty. The entire fifth floor seemed to have only the two of them.
The alpha in the elevator had changed back into her normal clothes, but she still had her makeup on from filming. Her brows were delicate, her lips were thin, and her nose bridge was high. The white light in the elevator hit her face, casting some shadows that made her features look even more defined. When she wasn’t talking, she had a natural air of aloofness.
But this aloofness quietly faded when she saw Song Xinran.
“Miss Song, what a coincidence,” she said again.
“…”
The hotel’s elevator doors were polished clean by the housekeeping staff. The silver mirror surface clearly reflected the surprise in Song Xinran’s eyes.
Song Xinran didn’t expect to run into Gu Yu here. She had been chatting with Xu Ru. When she saw Gu Yu, she subconsciously put her phone behind her back.
She moved her finger, trying to turn off the screen, but her finger slipped and pressed a wrong button. Just at that moment, Xu Ru happened to send a voice message.
Suddenly, Xu Ru’s voice filled the quiet space.
“Are you really going to spend a million to hire so many online trolls? Just because of a few trending topics about the crew? You’re so rich, Xinran,” Xu Ru’s words were teasing, completely unaware of her friend’s current situation.
And so, these words fell into Gu Yu’s ears, word for word. A look of surprise flashed in Gu Yu’s eyes.
A million to hire online trolls? she thought. Miss Song is indeed rich.
Gu Yu’s lips parted slightly, as if she wanted to say something. She only managed to utter one word: “You…”
She was interrupted by Song Xinran’s anxious voice. “I’m not hiring online trolls because you were being criticized!”
As soon as she said this, she immediately closed her mouth, because she felt that her words seemed to be trying to cover something up.
Out of a sense of pride, Song Xinran didn’t want Gu Yu to know about her hiring online trolls.
“Don’t flatter yourself. I just don’t want Xingchen Entertainment to lose money,” she emphasized again.
Gu Yu was stunned. She hadn’t thought about that at all. She had just wanted to ask about something else.
“I won’t misunderstand, Miss Song. I just wanted to ask…”
“Are you mad?”
Song Xinran’s heart skipped a beat. She didn’t know if it was because of this question or something else.
After a moment, Song Xinran asked back, “Why would I be mad?”
Remembering the sight of Gu Yu and the other omega standing side by side today, she thought, Gu Yu can like whoever she wants. What does it have to do with me? Why would I be mad? It’s a joke.
As she thought this, the fire in her heart burned brighter. Even she herself felt that her current state was inexplicably strange.
The next second, the alpha’s voice sounded again. “Is it because… I hugged you?”
The burning flame was suddenly extinguished, as if by a sudden rain from the sky. Song Xinran’s face went blank for a moment. “What?”
The reason Gu Yu thought she was mad… was this?
Gu Yu thought she hadn’t heard clearly, so she repeated, “Are you mad because I hugged you last night, right?”
Her tone was serious, and her eyes were filled with genuine confusion.
Song Xinran’s voice was barely audible. “…You’re crazy. How could I be mad about that?”
After she said that, she lifted her chin slightly and said, “Why aren’t you with Ming Xin? Why are you here, caring about whether I’m mad or not? Does it even matter?”
Gu Yu, however, just asked in a strange tone, “Why would I be with Ming Xin?”
She and Ming Xin were two separate individuals. At most, they would talk about the script and act together. There was no need to be together otherwise.
As for the second question, she answered, “Yes, it matters.”
“Miss Song, whether you are happy or mad, it is very important to me.”
Miss Song was her mission target, and making sure she had a good ending was the purpose of her being in this world.
Song Xinran stared blankly at her. The alpha’s gaze was focused, as if her eyes could only hold Song Xinran.
That sentence… sounded so much like a confession.

At the same time, on the set, Ming Xin was in the dressing room, and her assistant was waiting outside.
The crew was already in wrap-up mode. People were moving around, and some of the lights had been turned off. The assistant was in the shadows. Half of her blurry silhouette was folded onto the wall, looking inexplicably distorted.
The phone in her pocket suddenly vibrated, indicating an incoming call.
She took out her phone, looked at the caller’s name—it was the assistant of Manager Chen, her manager. She tilted her head slightly, stared at it for two seconds, and chose to answer.
“Xiao Xue, do you know where the key to Sister Ming Xin’s fan gift room is?”
The assistant, named Xiao Xue, lowered her eyes. Her tone was unclear. “Key?”
The person on the other end of the line was oblivious. She said, “Yes, Sister Ming Xin said she needed Sister Chen to help her find something, but Sister Chen is busy, so she sent me. But I don’t know where the key is, and I can’t reach them on the phone.”
Xiao Xue knew very well that Ming Xin’s phone was running out of battery, so she had set it to Do Not Disturb to prevent it from shutting down.
Listening to the voice on the phone, she said, “I know.” And she told her the location of the key.
She tilted her head. This was a movement that Ming Xin often did, but when she did it, it looked stiff and strange. Her face was hidden in the darkness, so no one could see her expression. She asked, “What are you looking for?”
“I think it’s a handkerchief, a fan gift.” The person on the other end got her answer and didn’t say anything more. She said quickly, “I’m going to look for it now. That’s it. Thank you.”
And then she hung up.
Xiao Xue stared at the phone, which was now black. Her eyes were empty and dark. She thought about the content of the phone call, and her lips parted in a very exaggerated curve, looking strange and sickly.
In the dim light, a soft chuckle sounded. “Xinxin, are you about to discover me? I’m so happy…”
It was at this moment that the dressing room door creaked open from the inside.
Ming Xin had already changed back into her own clothes. When she came out, she saw her assistant staring directly at her. There were still many prop crew members on the set, moving things around in small groups, but only the assistant stood in the shadows, like a venomous snake waiting for a chance to strike.
Gu Yu’s previous words suddenly rang in Ming Xin’s mind. This made her heart tighten, and she became more cautious.
Xiao Xue was still her usual quiet self. Seeing that Ming Xin was carrying things, she walked out of the shadows, wanting to help.
Ming Xin, however, couldn’t help but take a step back. Realizing her action was inappropriate, she calmed herself and put on a smile that was very similar to her usual one. “No need, Xiao Xue. I can do it myself.”
Xiao Xue’s action froze. Looking at Ming Xin’s back, which was pretending nothing was wrong, a feeling of violence rose in her heart.
Even though Ming Xin hid it well, she could still feel it. Her beloved Xinxin was avoiding her.
See how well I know you, Xinxin? I love you so much. How can you avoid me?

The night gradually deepened. Gu Yu was wearing a white silk nightgown. Her dark hair was down and still held a hint of dampness from the shower.
Her agent, Li Ruqin, had also seen the trending topics and specifically called to tell her not to worry.
Li Ruqin had previously been a small-time agent and hadn’t managed any famous artists. It was the first time in her life she had encountered such a big situation. Although she was comforting Gu Yu, she was actually very panicked herself.
So in the end, the phone call turned into Gu Yu comforting Li Ruqin.
Gu Yu: “It’s fine. Director Liu is already discussing how to handle it.”
Li Ruqin was worried. “Gu Yu, don’t look at those things online. That’s just how the internet is. Your aunt knows what kind of person you are.”
Ever since she went to the set last time, she had realized that her niece was good-looking, had good acting skills, and was a high-quality alpha. She was also popular on set. How could she be a useless talentless person, as the internet said?
Gu Yu’s heart felt a little warmer. She said, “I know. You don’t have to worry.”
If nothing went wrong, Director Liu should have already come up with a solution.
After comforting Li Ruqin, the call ended. She put away her phone and went to the mirror to dry her damp hair.
Her reflection appeared in the mirror. She had already taken off her makeup. Her features were delicate, and her skin was as fair as cold jade.
She looked at herself in the mirror, but what appeared in her mind was Song Xinran’s wide eyes and the cheeks that had suddenly turned as pink as a peach in the elevator.
Her lips unconsciously curled into a smile. She hadn’t said it at the time, but Miss Song, like that, actually looked a lot like a little fox.
A little cute.
