The Anti-Alpha Protagonist is Exceptionally Biased Towards Me (GL) - Chapter 6
“Miss Song, would you like to share the umbrella?” Gu Yu asked.
Song Xinran didn’t say anything. The sunglasses blocked most of her expression, making it impossible to see her thoughts or the emotions in her eyes.
Gu Yu took her silence as a silent agreement and extended the umbrella further toward her.
The sunlight was further blocked out, but Song Xinran only felt her heart grow warmer as the distance between them closed. It was as if the blocked sunlight had turned into a tiny flame, sneaking into her body. This strange sensation made her feel a little annoyed. She looked up, ready to mock the alpha as she had done in the past.
But as she met those eyes, her fire was extinguished.
The alpha was still looking at her.
Realizing this, she only felt the flame in her heart burn hotter, and her heartbeat subtly quickened.
This situation left her feeling a bit lost and unfamiliar. In a daze, she took the umbrella.
On the other side, Shen Xinyi, who had returned to grab something she had forgotten, looked on in surprise.
Especially when she saw that Song Xinran actually took the umbrella, she looked as if she had seen a ghost.
Didn’t Song Xinran always hate alphas? She had even made the firm statement that she “would rather die of pain during a estrus period than let any alpha get close to her.”
She couldn’t help but size up the alpha she had never seen before. She had to admit, the other person was indeed exceptionally good-looking. Standing next to Song Xinran, they looked surprisingly well-matched.
After the alpha had left, she walked over. Seeing Song Xinran still looking dazed and out of it, she said, “She’s gone now. Snap out of it.”
A voice suddenly popped up, startling Song Xinran, who took a small step back. Hearing the subtle teasing in Shen Xinyi’s words, she knew the other person had seen what had just happened. She felt a bit awkward and a little annoyed. “Dr. Shen, why do you walk without making a sound?”
Shen Xinyi felt a bit innocent. “Miss Song, you were just too focused.”
“…I was not.”
At this moment, the Song family’s driver finally arrived, flustered. “Young Miss, I’m sorry. The traffic was a bit heavy, and I’m a little late.”
Song Xinran waved her hand, indicating it was fine. Then, as if fleeing, she opened the car door and got in. She took off her sunglasses, revealing her beautiful, glistening phoenix eyes, and raised her chin toward Shen Xinyi. “I’m leaving now.”
Shen Xinyi’s gaze swept down. She said, “It’s so sunny outside. Why don’t you lend me that umbrella?”
For some reason, Song Xinran felt a little unwilling. She found an excuse. “This isn’t my umbrella. I have to return it. Go buy one yourself.”
With that, she closed the car door without hesitation. The car slowly started and drove away.
Shen Xinyi shook her head helplessly. Thinking of the alpha from just now, she had to admit that in all the years she had been Song Xinran’s attending physician, this was the first time she had seen her show a different side toward an alpha.
She didn’t know whether this was a good thing or a bad thing.
Gu Yu was still unaware of the little incident that had just occurred. Besides the pet hospital, Sister Li had also asked her to meet to discuss script selection.
As for giving the umbrella to Song Xinran, she didn’t feel there was anything wrong with it. The other person was her mission target, so a little extra care was only natural.
She also had no idea that her simple gesture had quietly created a new ripple in the other person’s heart.
At the pet hospital, the kitten was looking a little more lively than it had the night before. Seeing Gu Yu, it seemed to recognize the human who had helped it and immediately started meowing, its voice soft, as if it were being coquettish.
Gu Yu’s fingers at her side moved slightly. On the surface, she looked indifferent, but a thought quietly surfaced in her mind.
Cute, want to pet.
The doctor standing next to her spoke at the right moment. “The kitten has recovered a bit. It’s still being dewormed, but you can probably take it home in a few days.”
Gu Yu nodded and said politely, “Thank you, Doctor.”
“You’re welcome. It’s just my job.” The doctor was a little flattered. She hadn’t expected Gu Yu to be so polite, given the “don’t talk to me” expression on her face.
Gu Yu had no idea what the doctor was thinking. She paid the remaining fees, and as she was leaving, she couldn’t resist gently nudging the kitten’s forehead with her finger, which earned her an affectionate rub in return.
The fur under her finger felt soft and fluffy, and the kitten’s forehead was small and soft. Gu Yu’s expression quietly softened.
The place she had agreed to meet Sister Li was a café that looked very private. It was said that many celebrities often came here.
Gu Yu arrived on time. As she walked in, she saw a woman who was dressed neatly waving at her from a window seat. She guessed it was Sister Li.
And sure enough, the woman called out her name. “Gu Yu, over here.”
Gu Yu walked over.
She had inherited some of the original character’s memory, but the original character was, after all, just a minor role with very little detail in the book. The memories she had were not extensive and were mostly in text form.
Given this situation, she wasn’t entirely sure what Sister Li looked like or how the original character interacted with her. Therefore, Gu Yu didn’t rush to speak, but simply looked at the other person, planning to adapt as the situation unfolded.
Sister Li looked at her strangely. “Why aren’t you saying anything? So quiet. Are you in a bad mood?”
Gu Yu said simply, “My throat is a bit sore.”
Sister Li didn’t doubt her. She took a few printed scripts from her bag. “I brought a few scripts. See which one you want to choose.”
There was a hint of excitement in her eyes as she said this. Her position at the company was not high, and she only managed a few unknown minor actors. The most successful one was Meng Tian, who was shooting a magazine cover not far from here this morning. This was the first time she had received so many script invitations.
“I’ve looked through them for you. Two of the scripts are pretty good. I think you can give them a try.”
But Gu Yu said, “I don’t want to take any of them for now.”
“What?” Sister Li was stunned, almost thinking she had heard wrong. She was shocked. “Are you not fully awake? What nonsense are you talking about?”
Gu Yu looked up and said seriously, “No, I’m not.”
A hint of weariness quietly appeared between her brows. In her previous life, she had pushed herself too hard, desperately trying to earn money and climb to the top, as if she was urgently trying to prove something. The end result was a sudden death.
Now that she had a chance to live again, the sense of fatigue came in belatedly. She was just too tired and wanted to take a break for a while.
This weariness was not very noticeable. At least, Sister Li didn’t see it.
“You’re not?” Hearing Gu Yu’s words, Sister Li asked back, her voice raising. She seemed angry and wanted to ask what Gu Yu meant, but before she could speak, a commotion erupted outside the café.
“Ahhh, Xinxin! It’s Xinxin!”
“I can’t believe I actually found Xinxin here! The rumors were true!”
“Xinxin! Ming Xin! Look at me! I’m your fan! Ahhh!”
“Can you give me an autograph? I’m such a big fan!”
Sister Li’s words were drowned out by the excited shouts. Clearly, some well-known celebrity had arrived outside.
After a burst of noise, a person was escorted inside. A black mask covered most of her face, revealing only fair skin and a pair of bright, lively almond eyes.
When the people in the café saw her, many of them stood up in excitement.
“It’s Xinxin.”
“I love her so much.”
Countless similar whispers were heard. The person at the center of attention seemed used to it and continued to walk forward, undisturbed, her chin slightly raised, like a proud little swan.
She was probably heading to the private room designed for celebrities, and she had to pass by where Gu Yu was sitting.
As the person was about to get close, Sister Li stood up and smiled. “Ming Xin, hello, hello. I’m Li Ruqin, a manager from Xingchen Entertainment. We’re from the same company. What a coincidence to see you here.”
It was at this moment that Gu Yu found out that Sister Li’s full name was Li Ruqin, and she was actually a celebrity from Xingchen Entertainment.
But this kind of greeting was untimely and a little abrupt. Gu Yu saw the person frown slightly, but it was for a very short moment.
Perhaps because so many people were watching, she reluctantly nodded and said in a bored tone, “Hello.” Then, without a moment’s hesitation, she continued walking.
But as she passed by her, Gu Yu could feel that the other person seemed to glance at her out of the corner of her eye. This made her subconsciously look up, and she accidentally saw the person’s phone screen light up.
She realized this was rude and was about to look away, but she accidentally saw a familiar profile picture and nickname in the other person’s chat list, and she was suddenly stunned.
It was her account’s profile picture, and the note the other person had set for the account…
Was “Xiao Yu’er.”
