Summary
Synopsis:
Song Ling was a madwoman. Meeting her was the worst nightmare of Shen Zhao’s life.
Like a fool, Shen Zhao had spent more than half a year as Song Ling’s stand-in. When she finally learned the truth, she fled, wounded in both body and spirit.
When they met again on a night ravaged by torrential rain, she still fell into Song Ling’s hands.
Shen Zhao wore her sexiest red spaghetti-strap dress, its neckline revealing a generous expanse of cleavage.
She leaned there as the wind whipped around her, sending her hair flying. A cigarette stub rested between her fingers, its ember flickering in the wind.
She spoke. “Song Ling, what excuse are you going to use to keep me tied to you this time?”
Song Ling snatched the cigarette stub from her hand. She lowered her eyes and glanced at it, then held it to her lips and took a drag before stubbing it out and tossing it into the trash.
Smoke curled upward, blurring her vision. The innocent woman Shen Zhao had once been was gone. Song Ling had lost her by her own hand.
Song Ling looked at her. “My heart. Would that be enough?”
Shen Zhao suddenly smiled and deliberately mocked her. “Song Ling, are you really that stupid, or do you just enjoy being treated like dirt?!”
