The White Lotus Villainess Is Obsessed With Me - Chapter 48
The students of Class 6, Grade 12, quickly noticed that Wang Sasa had changed. Well, not exactly changed—while Wang Sasa had become more approachable, she still maintained a certain distance from them.
After Tan Yixuan stopped their classmates from bothering her, some of them privately grumbled that she was being meddlesome, but no one dared to voice their complaints. After all, if Tan Yixuan was speaking on the matter, it was surely with Wang Sasa’s consent. Who would be foolish enough to go against that?
However, there were always some who couldn’t see the situation clearly and would come looking for trouble.
Tan Yixuan had just gone to the teacher’s office for a moment, and when she returned, someone was sitting in her seat.
She frowned deeply as she looked at the group chattering away around her girlfriend. As she got closer, she realized they were discussing plans to hang out over the weekend and had even invited Sasa to join them.
Since these were her classmates talking to Wang Sasa, she couldn’t find a good reason to shoo them away, so she coldly addressed the girl sitting in her seat, “This is my seat.”
The girl turned around at the sound of Tan Yixuan’s voice. Seeing her dark expression, she instinctively stood up.
After Tan Yixuan sat down, the girl suddenly realized—was it really necessary to be this angry over just a seat? She felt a bit uncomfortable, but seeing her close friends gathered around Wang Sasa, she suppressed the feeling and stood to the side, listening to the others chatter.
Wang Sasa noticed Tan Yixuan’s expression through the gaps in the group and immediately realized she was upset again. She thought to herself, ‘Is she jealous again?’ With a small sigh, she thought, ‘Tan Yixuan gets jealous too easily! I barely have any room to play my part!’
They had agreed to reciprocate each other’s feelings, so why was it that only she got to feel jealous?
But since she was playing the role of a girlfriend, it was her duty to soothe her partner. She couldn’t very well respond harshly to her classmates, so she smiled and found an excuse to send them away.
Tan Yixuan, feeling a little unsettled after having only been gone for a few minutes and finding a crowd around her girlfriend, muttered, “They sure talked a lot.”
Wang Sasa, resting her chin in her hand, smiled. “It did seem like a lot…”
Suppressing her irritation, Tan Yixuan gave her a sidelong glance, pretending to be casual, “You seemed to enjoy it.”
Wang Sasa froze for a moment at the comment and quickly wiped the smile off her face, denying, “No, I didn’t really enjoy it.”
Tan Yixuan kept her gaze fixed on her, her tone displeased, “So, you enjoyed it a little?”
How was she supposed to respond to this?
Wang Sasa glanced at her, not expecting Tan Yixuan to cling to the issue like this, and showed a slightly troubled expression. “If you want to think that way, there’s nothing I can do.”
Unexpectedly, this sentence seemed to hit a nerve.
Biting her lip and staring at her homework, Tan Yixuan spoke with a hint of grievance, “I know I’m dull and not very likable… You’re only with me reluctantly. If you really don’t like me, then you should just…” But she couldn’t bring herself to finish the sentence with “break up.”
Hearing this, Wang Sasa realized that her previous attitude had been too dismissive, and Tan Yixuan had picked up on it. She couldn’t help but break into a cold sweat—she hadn’t expected Tan Yixuan to be so sensitive. Not daring to take things lightly anymore, she quickly composed herself, preparing to act her part.
Cupping Tan Yixuan’s face in her hands, she mimicked the way Tan Yixuan had done before, pressing their foreheads together, and softly asked, “What do you think of me?”
Blushing, Tan Yixuan averted her gaze and murmured, “Sasa, you… you’re perfect in every way.”
“Then, would someone as perfect as me ever settle for less?” Wang Sasa smiled gently, her eyes full of warmth. “Tan Yixuan, let me tell you again—I’m someone who only accepts the best. And as my girlfriend, that means you are also the best.”
Tan Yixuan’s heart stirred. Her long eyelashes trembled slightly. After a moment, she couldn’t help but place her hand on top of Wang Sasa’s, gently stroking it. “You are also the best to me.”
The entire Class 6 of Grade 12 had been watching the scene unfold. The students sitting in front and behind Wang Sasa couldn’t help but cringe at the sweetness. What was up with these two? Were they shooting a TV drama?
During the lunch break, Wang Sasa received a phone call. When she returned to the classroom, she found Tan Yixuan’s curious gaze waiting for her.
She sighed inwardly but maintained a relaxed smile on her face as she waved her phone at Tan Yixuan. “It was my mom calling.”
Tan Yixuan, flipping through her textbook and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, looked up and asked, “What was it about?”
Now, she could ask these questions openly without worrying about being told she was overreacting.
Tan Yixuan’s expression and question seemed quite normal, so Wang Sasa nonchalantly replied, “It’s nothing much. The two companies have been collaborating successfully lately. My mom mentioned they’re planning a celebratory banquet, and both families’ children will be attending.”
Tan Yixuan’s expression remained calm as she smiled. “Oh, when is it?”
She and Wang Sasa were inseparable every day, and the thought of one day having to be apart made her feel a sudden pang of resentment. It was an inexplicable feeling, even to herself.
She knew it was abnormal to feel this way. She and Sasa had been together for a long time, and it was unreasonable to occupy more of her time.
Wang Sasa, twirling a pen idly, tilted her head and said, “Those kinds of banquets are usually so boring; I don’t want to go.”
Tan Yixuan put on a generous, understanding smile. “It is your family’s event, and both families’ children will be there. It wouldn’t be appropriate for you not to attend.” She tried to persuade Sasa, but if Sasa still didn’t want to go, there was nothing she could do.
Wang Sasa put the pen back into her pencil case, raised an eyebrow, and said, “You’re right. I guess I’ll go after all.”
Tan Yixuan’s understanding smile froze momentarily before slowly melting away. She murmured softly, “That’s fine too,” though she was still unwilling in her heart.
On Saturday, Wang Sasa decided that she and Tan Yixuan would cook at home, watch TV, and simply spend half the day together.
Wang Sasa had read online that cooking together was one of the ten must-do activities for couples.
She remembered that Tan Yixuan had once cooked for her and thought it was only fair to return the favor.
They first went to the supermarket.
Wang Sasa pushed the shopping cart, browsing around and asking Tan Yixuan, “What do you like to eat?”
Tan Yixuan pressed her lips together and smiled, “I don’t have any particular preferences. As long as you make it, I’ll like it.”
Wang Sasa blinked. Tan Yixuan’s apparent lack of specific requests made it harder for her to decide. After repeated questioning, Tan Yixuan’s answers remained the same, leaving Wang Sasa feeling helpless. So she ended up picking her usual favorite dishes.
Wang Sasa had never cooked before, but she believed that with her intelligence, cooking would be a piece of cake. As she flipped through a cooking app on her phone, she bought ingredients according to the instructions.
Wang Sasa pointed at her phone screen and proudly said to Tan Yixuan, “I’m going to make radish and clam soup. This dish doesn’t need salt or MSG, so you can taste what real flavor is.”
Tan Yixuan smiled at her, uninterested in the dish name. She knew Wang Sasa had never cooked before and didn’t expect much in terms of culinary skills. However, since Wang Sasa was enthusiastic, Tan Yixuan was willing to support her. “I’m looking forward to it…,” she said, glancing at the phone screen and suggesting, “Don’t you need to buy ginger to remove the fishy smell?”
Wang Sasa was taken aback, then slapped her forehead and said, “Right, there’s the step to remove the smell. I’ll check again…”
As they walked around the vegetable section, the sight of the two youthful, attractive girls made quite an impression.
Dongzi, accompanying his elders at the supermarket, was shocked to see Wang Sasa. He rubbed his eyes in disbelief. Wang Sasa and Tan Yixuan were chatting and carefully selecting vegetables, blending in perfectly with the other shoppers.
Dongzi rubbed his eyes again. The figure did not disappear, and he finally confirmed that Wang Sasa was indeed at the supermarket, looking like she was preparing to make soup.
This was big news!
Dongzi suddenly thought of the unfortunate Wei Qi and instinctively dialed his number.
Wei Qi was frustrated about the overseas study fiasco when he answered Dongzi’s call, his tone tinged with irritation. “What’s up?”
Dongzi, unaware of Wei Qi’s troubles, whispered in his rugged voice, “Brother Wei, you won’t believe who I just saw at the supermarket!”
Wei Qi clicked his tongue, about to correct Dongzi’s address, but was stunned by the next words.
“I saw Wang Shasha!” Dongzi exclaimed excitedly. “Brother Wei, this is your chance!”
Wei Qi sat up straight, only to slump immediately as if a balloon had been deflated. “What chance? Wang Shasha told me not to show up in front of her…”
Dongzi, frustrated, said, “Do you understand the concept of a chance? Is the supermarket her private property? Why is it okay for her to shop there but not for you? Brother Wei, you can’t just hide at home all the time. If you want to show sadness, it should be in front of Wang Shasha!”
Wei Qi was somewhat swayed by his words and hesitated. “Can this work?”
Dongzi raised his voice, decisive, “Of course it can! Didn’t I tell you before? Apologize sincerely first, and then go abroad—everything will be fine!”
Tan Yixuan, hearing something, suddenly looked up. Dongzi was startled and quickly ducked down.
Wang Sasa followed Tan Yixuan’s gaze and wondered, “What are you looking at?”
Tan Yixuan turned back, paused, and replied with a slight smile, “Nothing.”
She glanced again in Dongzi’s direction but saw nothing unusual, raised an eyebrow, and turned to walk with Wang Sasa towards the seasoning section.
Wei Qi, still hesitating, drove to the supermarket where the three were. It didn’t take much effort for him to find Dongzi.
Dongzi saw him, his face brightening with joy, and then he surreptitiously pointed in another direction.
Wei Qi cleared his throat, stuffed his hands into his pockets, and pretended to casually head in the direction Dongzi indicated. He was tall, and since the shelves in the seasoning section were not very high, he could vaguely see the fluffy heads of the girls on the other side.
His heart was pounding. He deliberately turned around the shelf, hoping to run into Wang Sasa by chance.
On the other side, Tan Yixuan sensed something and suddenly pulled Wang Sasa’s arm, turning her around.
Wang Sasa stumbled slightly as she was pulled and asked in confusion, “What’s wrong? You’ve been acting strange since earlier.”
After a moment of thought, Wang Sasa suddenly realized, “Are you tired? If so, let me go get it, and you can rest here.”
Tan Yixuan shook her head and glanced back casually, only to see Wei Qi standing behind them, looking unhappy.
Her brows furrowed deeply, and her eyes grew cold for a moment.
Meanwhile, Wei Qi was also displeased.
Damn Dongzi, why is Tan Yixuan here too?
