The Whole World Wants Them to Get a Divorce - Chapter 11
In the novel, the protagonist was a pure, innocent, and sweet airhead who never broke character, so Si Yu shouldn’t have been suspicious. But the scene she had just witnessed felt off.
Liang Yufei and Lu Wei were so close; there was no way Liang Yufei didn’t know that she and Lu Xi were married. If she knew, why would she keep clinging to Lu Xi?
Any normal person would have tried to avoid being too close.
Si Yu couldn’t hear what they were saying or what they were doing, but just from that one glance, Si Yu was certain that the protagonist wasn’t as simple as she seemed.
Don’t ask why. It was a woman’s intuition.
“Auntie, where’s my luggage?” Si Yu asked the housekeeper.
The housekeeper replied, “I put it in the oldest miss’s room.”
“Thank you, Auntie.” Si Yu jogged up to the second floor and found her luggage.
There were a lot of things, mostly clothes. Si Yu took out a small bag from a compartment, opened it, and pulled out a red and white floral swimsuit.
Si Yu had bought the swimsuit a couple of days ago while she was buying lingerie. It was an impulse purchase, as she thought it would be a good idea for this body to learn how to swim. She hadn’t expected it to come in handy so soon.
Si Yu had intentionally chosen a conservative style, but compared to Liang Yufei’s bikini, which was barely there, hers had no chance of competing.
Si Yu had a flash of inspiration. She asked the housekeeper for a pair of scissors and cut along the seams of the ruffles, turning it into a revealing two-piece.
After changing into the swimsuit, Si Yu wrapped a large bath towel around herself and went downstairs, where she ran into the old woman. “Grandma.”
The old woman looked at her curiously. “Why are you dressed like that?”
Si Yu lifted a corner of the towel to show her the swimsuit underneath. “I almost drowned the last time I fell into the water. The weather’s so nice today, so I want to learn how to swim,” she said, her expression serious.
The old woman was still shaken by the last incident, so she agreed. “None of us know how to swim. Who’s going to teach you?”
Before Si Yu could reply, the housekeeper chimed in, “The oldest miss knows how to swim. She can teach her.”
The old woman quickly said, “Go and get Xi Xi.”
“No need, Grandma. They’re already by the pool.” Si Yu gave her a sly smile. “Grandma, do you want to watch us learn how to swim?”
“I’d love to.”
When Si Yu pushed the old woman over to the pool, Lu Wei was still clinging to Lu Xi. “Big sis, you’re a better swimmer than me. You should teach Yufei.”
Liang Yufei’s heart fluttered. Her face was flushed, and she looked at Lu Xi with undisguised adoration. Her voice was shy and excited. “Ms. Lu, can you teach me?”
Lu Xi frowned.
Lu Xi’s impression of Liang Yufei was still from that time during dinner, when the director brought a young actress who he thought would be perfect for the protagonist’s role. At the time, Lu Xi thought the girl was pure, genuine, and poised. Not like she was now, acting so affected and speaking in a high-pitched voice.
She didn’t remember what Liang Yufei was wearing that day, only that she was dressed simply, which was a stark contrast to her revealing attire today.
Anyone could appreciate beauty, and it wasn’t strange to wear a bikini to go swimming, but wearing so little and then constantly trying to get close to her was very suspicious.
Lu Xi wasn’t sure if Liang Yufei was doing it on purpose, but every time the girl tried to get close to her, she was reminded of all the women who had tried to seduce her in the past.
Thinking of this, Lu Xi felt a surge of annoyance. She didn’t let it show on her face. “I’m sorry, I don’t have time,” she said coolly.
Liang Yufei hadn’t expected her to refuse. Her expression froze, and her smile disappeared.
Lu Wei didn’t want Lu Xi to leave. She was about to try and convince her when she noticed someone coming out of the corner of her eye. Her eyes widened. She pointed at Si Yu and said angrily, “What are you doing here, you evil woman?”
The old woman patted the armrest of her wheelchair. “Wei Wei, watch your manners! If you ever talk to Qiao Qiao like that again, I’ll hit you!”
Lu Wei was both upset and furious. “Grandma, how could you side with a stranger…”
“Shut up,” Lu Xi said, cutting off the rambling Lu Wei.
With just a single glance, Lu Wei shrank back. She moved her lips but didn’t dare to speak.
Lu Xi saw Si Yu in a towel, her long hair tied up in a bun. She looked fresh and vibrant. Lu Xi was stunned. “What are you doing?”
Si Yu raised an eyebrow. “I came to ask you to teach me how to swim.”
“I don’t have time,” Lu Xi said, trying to use the same excuse to get rid of her.
But the old woman said, “Qiao Qiao is your wife. You have to teach her even if you don’t have time.”
Lu Xi was helpless. “Grandma, I…”
“Don’t say anything else. Just start,” the old woman said, giving her no chance to object.
Lu Xi: “…”
Grandma’s the best!
Si Yu silently gave the old woman a thumbs up in her heart. In front of everyone, she slowly untied her towel, hung it on the old woman’s wheelchair, raised her head, puffed out her chest, and turned around to fully show off her impressive figure. She looked at the pale-faced Liang Yufei, her chin slightly raised.
Liang Yufei bit her lower lip.
She hadn’t expected Si Yu to show up, let alone in a bikini. More importantly, Si Yu’s chest was bigger, her waist was smaller, her legs were longer, and her skin was whiter than hers. Her eyes were sharp and clearly full of provocation.
Liang Yufei knew she had lost when it came to their bodies. With so many people around, she felt a little flustered. She nudged Lu Wei. “I don’t want to learn anymore. Let’s go.”
“Why not? I don’t believe she’d dare to harm you again in front of so many people!” Lu Wei said, raising her voice on purpose.
“But…” Liang Yufei looked anxious. She glanced at Lu Xi, who she didn’t want to leave.
Si Yu swayed her hips and walked up to Lu Xi. She deliberately brushed her chest against her arm. “Do you want to change into a swimsuit, too?”
Lu Xi didn’t know what she was up to now. She backed away, her face stiff. “No need.”
“Then what are you going to do when you get in the water?” Si Yu drew circles on her shoulder with her index finger.
Lu Xi pushed her hand away. She gave a half-smile. “I can teach you without getting in the water.”
Si Yu didn’t really want Lu Xi to change into a swimsuit, so that Liang Yufei couldn’t ogle her. But how could she teach her without getting in the water?
Si Yu got in the water with a head full of questions.
Her plans were all ruined. Lu Wei was so annoyed that she pulled Liang Yufei, who was still on the side of the pool. “We’re going in, too.”
Liang Yufei looked at the stunning Lu Xi standing on the pool deck and said hesitantly, “Let’s not, Wei Wei.”
With so many people watching, there was nothing she could do.
The cool water washed over her chest. Si Yu looked up at Lu Xi by the pool and pretended to be confused. “What do I do? Hurry up and teach me.”
Lu Xi pointed her chin at the ladder used to get into the water. “Hold on to the railing and kick for ten minutes.”
Si Yu: “…”
If she hadn’t learned how to swim before, she would have believed her!
When others taught swimming, they would get in the water and teach you hands-on. Who just stood on the side and gave instructions?
Lu Wei and Liang Yufei were still watching her like hawks. Lu Xi was so uncooperative. Wouldn’t they laugh at her?
Si Yu raised her arms and said in a sweet voice, “It’s hard to hold on to the railing. Why don’t you hold me?”
The corner of Lu Xi’s mouth twitched. She instinctively wanted to refuse.
“Xi Xi, Qiao Qiao is scared. You should hold her,” the old woman said, beating her to it.
Lu Xi: “…”
Lu Xi had a huge headache. She had just been passing by and was forced into this by Lu Wei. Now her grandmother was pressuring her, and she couldn’t leave.
She looked at Si Yu, who was in the water, wearing a bikini, looking confused and helpless. She hesitated for a moment, then squatted down and reluctantly held out her hand.
Si Yu puffed out her chest and looked at her with a grin. “I just bought this swimsuit. Do you like it?”
Lu Xi’s gaze moved down, over her bare shoulders, her slender collarbone, and paused at her chest.
She quickly moved her eyes away and said impatiently, “If you want to learn, then learn properly. Stop talking so much.”
“Okay.” Si Yu grabbed her hand. For a moment, she had a mischievous thought of pulling Lu Xi into the water, but she held back, afraid of making her angry.
With Lu Xi’s terrible teaching methods, she probably wouldn’t learn in a year.
But Si Yu’s goal wasn’t to swim. She held Lu Xi’s hand and pretended to kick her legs. “Why aren’t you looking at me? Is this how it’s done?”
All Lu Xi could see was her blindingly pale skin, rising and falling with the waves. Lu Xi said without expression, “Whatever.”
Si Yu knew she wasn’t serious about teaching her. She would kick and then stop, her body occasionally surfacing to show off her proud figure.
Lu Xi: “…”
On the side of the pool, Liang Yufei’s face was a mix of red and white.
Lu Wei couldn’t stand Si Yu’s pretentious acting, but with her grandmother there, she couldn’t do anything. “She’s so shameless,” she said bitterly. “She knows my sister hates her, but she’s still clinging to her.”
But Lu Xi is cooperating with her…
Liang Yufei’s heart ached. She pursed her lips and turned to leave.
“Yufei—” Lu Wei quickly ran after her.
Seeing that they had left, Si Yu stopped. Her shoulders slumped, and she pouted. “I’m so tired.”
Lu Xi looked at Liang Yufei’s retreating figure. Then she looked back at the person in the water. “Is the show over?”
She figured it out again?
Si Yu looked innocent, as if she didn’t understand what she was saying. She shook Lu Xi’s arm and whined, “Pull me out.”
Lu Xi: “…”
Master Xie had already prepared lunch.
Si Yu was soaked. She went upstairs to change first. When she came down, she saw Liang Yufei, and she was a little surprised.
She had thought that after her commotion, Liang Yufei would have been too embarrassed to stay and would have left. But she not only stayed but was also going to eat lunch.
The old woman knew that Liang Yufei was Lu Wei’s best friend. She broke a family rule and chatted with Liang Yufei enthusiastically at the dinner table. “Miss Liang, are you an actress? What have you been in? Do you have a boyfriend?”
Liang Yufei replied sweetly, “I’ve only been in one historical drama. A modern drama will start filming in two months. I… I don’t have a boyfriend.”
Just talk. Why are you looking at Lu Xi?
After the meal, Si Yu was even more certain that Liang Yufei had ulterior motives toward Lu Xi. She poked her rice with her chopsticks and said to Little B with her mind, “Do you know what my last role was?”
Little B: “What?”
Si Yu: “Just like the original Si Yu, a wicked female supporting character.”
Little B: “Oh. And?”
“And?” Si Yu gave a sinister smile and flexed her wrists. “Today, I’m going to be a ‘Si Yu’ again.”
Little B: “???”
After eating, Si Yu followed Liang Yufei to the restroom.
“Miss Liang.”
Liang Yufei turned around, saw her, and her face changed completely. Her body pressed against the wall. “What do you want?” she asked fearfully.
“Nothing. I just want to chat with you.”
“I don’t want to talk to you,” Liang Yufei said, backing away.
Si Yu closed in on her, ignoring her protests. “Lu Xi and I are legally married. You should know that, right?”
Liang Yufei: “…”
Si Yu smiled coldly. “Are you trying to be a homewrecker, Miss Liang? Seducing a married woman?”
Liang Yufei froze. A fleeting look of viciousness flashed in her innocent, deer-like eyes.
