Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Marked by the Villain (GL) - Chapter 12
Unwell?
Fu Qingyun glanced at the hospital right beside them. She was thinking of getting out first, helping Ruan Jiyan out, and then rushing her into the hospital, but her legs suddenly went weak, and she tumbled directly onto Ruan Jiyan’s body.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to!”
Ruan Jiyan was about to push the person off her when her hand accidentally brushed against a soft, protruding object. When she realized what she was grabbing, she instantly froze on the car seat.
The two stared at each other in an awkward silence. Fu Qingyun was utterly astonished. She watched Ruan Jiyan’s snow-white face instantly turn crimson.
The car interior descended into an eerie silence. Fu Qingyun quickly sat back up, so embarrassed she didn’t know where to put her hands, so she rested them on the steering wheel, trying to ease the awkwardness.
“Are you feeling better?”
Fu Qingyun found the atmosphere too strange, so she broke the silence to ask.
“I’m fine.”
It’s just a grab of the chest, what’s the big deal?
Fu Qingyun saw Ruan Jiyan’s rosy face in the rearview mirror. She held back a laugh that was about to burst out, took a deep breath, and said, “It’s good that you’re fine. Your heat cycle is too irregular. I’ve prepared inhibitors and some soothing medication. If you feel unwell, take some.”
She opened the small refrigerator in the front of the car. Inside were specialized inhibitors, and Ruan Jiyan noticed her name was thoughtfully labeled on them.
“Inhibitors shouldn’t be used constantly; it’s bad for the body.”
Fu Qingyun explained, “This is the latest inhibitor developed by my brother’s company. I had him specially customize a batch. The one I gave you yesterday was this one.”
Ruan Jiyan reached for one but then put it back. Before she could say thank you, she saw Fu Qingyun take out a transparent glass bottle from the bottom of the small refrigerator, filled with small, colorful candies.
“This is soothing medicine, made to look like candy, so it tastes sweet.”
Fu Qingyun watched Ruan Jiyan’s surprised expression and smiled, “But you can’t eat too much, only two pieces a day at most, or there will be side effects.”
Ruan Jiyan bit her lower lip. She hadn’t expected Fu Qingyun to go this far for her. She had never seen this kind of soothing medicine before. All she knew were those hard, disgusting pills that tasted awful or the sickly sweet granules.
And the inhibitor…
A warm hand was placed on Ruan Jiyan’s forehead. She opened her eyes to look at Fu Qingyun, a warmth spreading right to her heart.
“You’re not very hot. In this situation, you can take a piece of candy; you don’t need an inhibitor injection.”
Fu Qingyun smiled and winked at Ruan Jiyan. She reached for the glass bottle, uncorked it, and held the open bottle out to Ruan Jiyan, like coaxing a child.
“Take one.”
Afterward, she specifically cautioned, “Only one.”
Fu Qingyun actually wanted to take one out and give it to Ruan Jiyan, but she was worried that the other person might find her fingers dirty, so she let her take it herself.
After getting Fu Qingyun’s permission, Ruan Jiyan carefully reached out a finger, pinched a pink one, and slowly put it into her mouth.
A sweet and sour flavor burst onto her taste buds. It felt like eating soft, fragrant gummy candy, leaving a pleasant scent in her mouth.
“It tastes good, right? This kind of candy… oh, no.”
Fu Qingyun closed the bottle stopper, put the soothing agent back in the refrigerator, and smiled, “This medication isn’t on the market yet, but don’t worry, it’s been tested many times. I wouldn’t use you as a guinea pig.”
Ruan Jiyan stopped chewing the candy and looked at Fu Qingyun again in disbelief.
“Thank you.”
“It’s nothing. I said I would take responsibility for you. It’s just a small matter.”
Seeing Fu Qingyun speak this way, Ruan Jiyan felt a pang of sadness in her heart. She knew she couldn’t soften, but facing this version of Fu Qingyun, she couldn’t help herself.
The soothing agent Fu Qingyun gave her was effective. Ruan Jiyan’s fever gradually subsided. She opened the car door and got out. Fu Qingyun originally wanted to accompany her in the hospital, but the other party didn’t want her company. Fu Qingyun had no choice but to drive away, leaving her business card for Ruan Jiyan to call her anytime.
After stepping on the accelerator and driving away, Fu Qingyun suddenly regretted it. She left an Omega in the middle of her heat cycle alone at the hospital. What if she ran into malicious Alphas?
And what if the medication she gave Ruan Jiyan didn’t work, and the heat came again, and the other person didn’t have an inhibitor?
The more Fu Qingyun thought about it, the more scared she became. She hadn’t driven far before she turned the steering wheel and rushed back the way she came, parking the car near the hospital.
Ruan Jiyan hadn’t expected Fu Qingyun to return. When she arrived at the ward, Shen Yuwan was already asleep, so she went out to buy some fruit.
The hospital and the fruit stand were two streets away. On her way back, Ruan Jiyan unfortunately ran into two Alphas blocking her path.
“Hey, little lady. You look stunning. Looks like you’re a top-quality Omega. How about you come with us for some fun?”
Ruan Jiyan realized the danger. She forcefully threw the fruit in her hands at the two Alphas and ran outside with all her might.
Her hair was immediately grabbed. Ruan Jiyan ignored the pain and ran forward, but she was abruptly slammed against the wall.
Her back hit the wall hard, causing involuntary tears to well up in her eyes from the pain.
The Alpha who grabbed her hair looked ferocious. The three Alphas collectively released their pheromones, pressing down on Ruan Jiyan until she collapsed helplessly onto the ground.
“She’s an Omega in heat too!”
The three Alphas drooled like hungry wolves seeing fat meat, constantly whispering vulgar and explicit words into Ruan Jiyan’s ears.
Ruan Jiyan fiercely gripped the broken stones on the ground. Only when the sharp edges of the stones broke her tender palms did she regain consciousness.
Fresh blood flowed from Ruan Jiyan’s palms and between her fingers. She smelled a faint metallic scent of blood.
Why…
Why are Omegas naturally subservient to Alphas?
Ruan Jiyan was unwilling. She didn’t want to be insulted by these disgusting, loathsome things, but she was currently suppressed by the Alphas’ pheromones and couldn’t move.
The image of her being oppressed by Alphas flashed through her mind again. Ruan Jiyan bit her lip hard in defiance until it was bloody.
“Stop with the nonsense. Who’s first?”
As the taunting, vulgar words reached Ruan Jiyan’s ears, she tightly closed her eyes, praying to the heavens for the first time.
Is there anyone…
To save her…
Just as Ruan Jiyan prepared to bite her own tongue, a familiar red wine scent struck again, strong and fervent. It was the smell she hated most in this life.
In a daze, Ruan Jiyan heard Fu Qingyun’s cry. She opened her sweat-soaked eyes. In front of her was an anxious face.
“Ruan Jiyan!”
