Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Marked by the Villain (GL) - Chapter 17
“Can you stand up?”
Although Fu Qingyun was the one injured, she was clearly more concerned about Ruan Jiyan; this person was more important than herself.
“I can…”
Ruan Jiyan’s face was deathly pale, clearly frightened by the out-of-control truck. Fu Qingyun struggled to stand up, but she couldn’t put any weight on her other leg.
She had sprained her ankle; standing up was very difficult.
Ruan Jiyan seemed to only just notice her injury. She carefully helped Fu Qingyun slowly get to her feet.
“Hiss…”
In no time, Fu Qingyun’s ankle began to swell and bruise. She tried walking a few steps, limping, and nearly dragged Ruan Jiyan down with her.
It was truly unlucky. But being able to save Ruan Jiyan at the last second was a blessing in disguise.
“Sister, this is all my fault. You saved me, but I ended up causing you to sprain your ankle.”
There was a commotion of voices not far away. Fu Qingyun looked in that direction and saw that the female driver had been successfully rescued by the firefighters, but she was severely injured and unconscious.
The ambulance hadn’t arrived yet. The female driver was surrounded by a crowd of onlookers taking photos, but no one dared to step forward to administer first aid.
Fu Qingyun limped over, supported by Ruan Jiyan. Ruan Jiyan asked, puzzled, “Sister, what are you going to do?”
“Save her.”
Fu Qingyun half-crouched on the ground in front of the crowd. She checked the female driver’s breathing and heartbeat. After confirming, she professionally and methodically began performing CPR.
Ruan Jiyan stood to the side, her eyes wide. She could only hear the sound of phone shutters clicking and the gasps of astonishment from the surrounding crowd.
So Fu Qingyun knew how to do this too. Her expression of worry was gradually replaced by disbelief. By the time Ruan Jiyan watched Fu Qingyun’s fluid, professional series of emergency aid procedures, her impression of this person completely changed.
By the time the ambulance arrived, the female driver had gradually regained her vital signs, and Ruan Jiyan also snapped back to consciousness amidst the loud applause of the crowd.
Fu Qingyun was sweating profusely from the exertion. She wiped the sweat from her face, having almost forgotten the injury to her foot, until Ruan Jiyan stepped up to support her.
The female doctor, seeing Fu Qingyun limping, said, “Miss, your ankle is sprained. We can take you to the hospital right away.”
Fu Qingyun glanced at Ruan Jiyan standing beside her. If she followed the ambulance to the hospital now, Ruan Jiyan would be alone. She was completely uneasy about that, so she politely declined the doctor’s offer:
“Thank you, but I’m fine. You should hurry and take the patient to the hospital.”
The surrounding crowd dispersed, and the police began to handle the traffic accident.
Ruan Jiyan supported Fu Qingyun, staring blankly at the other woman’s profile. She opened her mouth but didn’t know what to say.
“I’m sorry, this is all my fault.”
Fu Qingyun smiled, patting the top of Ruan Jiyan’s head, and shrugged: “It’s nothing. I just need to call a designated driver now. Can you drive?”
She belatedly realized Ruan Jiyan should be able to drive. After all, she was twenty years old; it was unlikely she didn’t have a license.
“I can, but my license…”
Ruan Jiyan was currently penniless. She hadn’t seen her license since she tucked it away in her rented room.
“It’s fine. You can drive for me; I’ll pay you.”
Fu Qingyun half-jokingly said, “This way, we save the designated driver fee.”
This car, if she remembered correctly, was a multi-million dollar luxury car that Fu Qingyan gave Fu Qingyun for her twentieth birthday.
When Fu Qingyun first transmigrated, she never imagined she would have a conflict with a car. Even though she had nearly ten years of driving experience, Fu Qingyun didn’t dare to easily try to drive it, afraid that one press of the gas pedal would result in a loss of tens of millions.
But since this money was pocket change to Fu Qingyan, Fu Qingyun gradually became bolder.
“I dare not drive it.”
Ruan Jiyan was now destitute, barely able to afford a meal. She wouldn’t dare risk driving Fu Qingyun’s multi-million dollar RR.
If there was another accident, or even a scratch, she couldn’t afford a replacement even if she dug out and sold her own heart, liver, and kidneys.
“It’s okay. I have others at home. Just drive it for fun.”
“…”
Fu Qingyun said this and then immediately forgot something: Ruan Jiyan’s hands were injured. How could she drive?
Blatant showing off of wealth. Ruan Jiyan turned her head and pondered for a moment. The Fu family was indeed a top wealthy family in the business world, even surpassing the Ruan family before they went bankrupt.
No wonder Fu Qingyun is so good to her. Those things are easily accessible to her; they are merely handouts to Ruan Jiyan.
“Your hands…” Fu Qingyun picked up her phone: “I’ll still call a designated driver.”
The designated driver was a female Alpha. As soon as she arrived, she was captivated by Fu Qingyun’s RR, but she looked troubled and said, “I’m sorry, two ladies. I don’t dare drive this car. You should find someone else.”
“Miss, look at the state we’re in. It’s fate that we found you.”
Fu Qingyun knew she was afraid of scratching the car and being unable to afford the compensation. She smiled and said, “It’s okay. If the car gets scratched, it’s on me. Drive without worry.”
Watching Fu Qingyun talk cheerfully with the attractive Alpha woman, Ruan Jiyan remained expressionless, though her internal world was a turbulent storm.
Although she knew the other person was an Alpha, she still disliked Fu Qingyun’s playful attitude toward others.
A shadow flashed in Ruan Jiyan’s eyes. She sat in the back seat with Fu Qingyun, glanced at her profile, and pushed all her dark thoughts aside. After all, this person had saved her twice. No matter how ungrateful Ruan Jiyan might be, she couldn’t forget this life-saving kindness.
She kept convincing herself that the Fu Qingyun of the previous life, who had humiliated her, had already been dismembered by her, and this life’s Fu Qingyun was different from that vile scumbag. She couldn’t confuse the two.
Even though Ruan Jiyan tried her best, facing the face she hated and loathed, she couldn’t help but recall the pain of the previous life.
“You sprained your ankle. I’ll go with you to the hospital to see a doctor.”
A doctor?
Fu Qingyun was a doctor herself. This minor injury didn’t require such a fuss; she just needed to carefully treat it at home.
Although her private residence didn’t have servants, it was fully stocked with supplies, including basic medications and the like.
“Let’s just go back. It’s just a minor injury; I can ice it myself back home.”
“But…”
Ruan Jiyan shook her head: “You’re not a doctor. What if you twisted a bone? What if it’s a fracture?”
“A fracture?”
Fu Qingyun couldn’t help but laugh out loud: “I am a…”
Doctor…
She nearly spilled the beans. She smiled without changing her expression: “I don’t want to go to the hospital. The smell of disinfectant is too strong; it makes me dizzy.”
Ruan Jiyan couldn’t argue with her. She stared at Fu Qingyun’s slightly pale face, a surge of guilt rising in her heart.
She owed the other party a favor for this incident. Since Fu Qingyun hadn’t brought it up, she would simply deduct it from the “good impression” score from the previous life.
Ruan Jiyan silently made a note in her little book about what happened to them today.
Saved her: Added points.
She glanced at Fu Qingyun, who was chatting with the attractive Alpha, and gritted her teeth.
Flirting: Deducted points.
