Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Marked by the Villain (GL) - Chapter 8
Ruan Jiyan’s old clothes had been removed. She stared at the expensive silk nightgown she was wearing and felt a wave of nausea.
Fu Qingyun…
…changed her clothes.
This meant that this person had seen her naked body and touched and caressed her.
Disgusting.
Ruan Jiyan fiercely pinched her thigh, trying to suppress the urge to vomit.
“Bro, I’m fine. I’m not going home tonight. I’ll sleep at the villa you bought for me.”
Fu Qingyun leaned one hand against the balcony railing, speaking lazily. “I’m a twenty-something adult. What are you still worried about?”
The sound of a man’s voice came from the other side. Fu Qingyun felt that the person was treating her like an immature child.
She didn’t like this feeling of being restricted, so she didn’t take anything Fu Qingyan said seriously.
“Alright, alright, I get it.”
Fu Qingyun mumbled a perfunctory reply and hung up the phone.
The door quietly opened. From her vantage point, Fu Qingyun could only see Ruan Jiyan’s slender, frail back.
The person was completely curled up under the quilt, which instantly triggered Fu Qingyun’s protective instinct.
People are often at their most vulnerable and sensitive when they are sick, and Ruan Jiyan was no exception.
“Miss Ruan, don’t worry. It’s very safe here.”
Fu Qingyun slowly approached her, her voice extremely gentle and soothing, just like when she quietly comforted patients in the hospital ward.
The person wrapped in the quilt visibly curled up even tighter. Fu Qingyun guessed that she must have been startled by her previous actions to react this way.
“You should rest first, get a good night’s sleep. I’ll take you home tomorrow.”
Home?
Hearing the word “home,” Ruan Jiyan’s eyes were obscured. She stiffly turned her body to face Fu Qingyun, her voice soft and delicate: “Home?”
Fu Qingyun couldn’t take her eyes off the beautiful girl with the slight childlike voice. She didn’t even notice the unconscious upward curve of her own lips.
“Yes, I’ll take you home tomorrow. You can ask for any compensation you want. If I can do it, I will definitely agree.”
Ruan Jiyan cautiously shrunk back, and then her eyes became dim and lifeless.
“I don’t have a home.”
Ever since the Ruan family went bankrupt, her father committed suicide, and her mother fell seriously ill.
Ruan Jiyan was the only daughter of the Ruan family, and all these burdens fell upon her shoulders, like colossal mountains, crushing her until she couldn’t breathe.
Her father’s bankruptcy left massive debts, and all the company’s assets were mortgaged. In an instant, she fell from the mountaintop into the mud, becoming someone everyone avoided, and naturally, she became a plaything for the Alphas who had once courted her.
Pain.
Headache.
In an instant, all the painful memories flooded Ruan Jiyan’s mind. She clutched her head in agony, her eyes bloodshot, but not a single tear could fall.
Reborn into this life, she didn’t expect to return to her most difficult period.
The betrayal of friends, the selling out by the person she loved, and the physical torment from Fu Qingyun.
All these things combined completely forced her into an endless abyss.
“If you have nowhere to go, you can stay here.”
Ruan Jiyan shook her head. Seeing her reaction, Fu Qingyun clearly knew she didn’t want to stay, so she said, “If you don’t want to, I can give you a check. Go ahead and do whatever you want to do.”
After saying this, she continued to observe Ruan Jiyan’s expression. Seeing her lower her head in silence, she thought Ruan Jiyan was too embarrassed to speak, so she sincerely apologized, “It’s all my fault. I wronged you.”
“I said I don’t blame you.”
Ruan Jiyan said only this sentence and fell silent again. She looked up at Fu Qingyun timidly, then whispered, “If you hadn’t saved me today, I would have died on the roadside.”
Hearing this, Fu Qingyun felt warmth spread through her heart. Where was the bloodthirsty villain who wouldn’t bat an eye when killing? This was clearly a reasonable, understanding little angel!
“Are you hungry? I’ll go make you something to eat.”
Make something to eat?
Ruan Jiyan didn’t believe the person in front of her would cook for herself, and she had no appetite anyway, so she shook her head.
“Then go to sleep early. Good night.”
After saying good night, Fu Qingyun reached out towards Ruan Jiyan. She originally intended to straighten the blanket for her, but instead, she was met with Ruan Jiyan’s guarded eyes.
It seemed Ruan Jiyan still didn’t trust her. Fu Qingyun could only reluctantly withdraw her hand and stand up.
“I’m leaving now.”
Ruan Jiyan covered her head and didn’t look at her again. Fu Qingyun wasn’t offended. She simply turned off the bedside lamp, then quietly walked out and closed the door.
The moment Fu Qingyun left, Ruan Jiyan threw off the quilt and sat up.
Everything felt so unreal. She pinched the skin on her arm, then slumped onto the bed, deflated and silent.
Was Fu Qingyun putting on a show for her, or was she truly different from the previous life?
The latter was unlikely. But Ruan Jiyan was certain of one thing: Fu Qingyun didn’t know she had been reborn, and naturally didn’t know she had the memories of her previous life.
Whenever Ruan Jiyan’s resolve wavered, she always replayed the tragic events that happened to her in her past life, to prevent herself from being harmed by a villain and falling into eternal damnation again.
The thought of her body being touched by Fu Qingyun sent Ruan Jiyan into a frenzy of scrubbing her snow-white skin, rubbing it until it was red and hot.
She didn’t want the smell of Fu Qingyun to cling to her. She hated the red wine scent and everything associated with Fu Qingyun.
The sound of trickling water came from the bathroom. A hazy silhouette was projected onto the frosted glass door. Ruan Jiyan desperately scrubbed her body. Her white skin turned red at the slightest touch. When she emerged wrapped in a bath towel, the exposed skin was faintly pink.
A hint of sweet tea scent drifted in the air. Ruan Jiyan’s eyes darkened, and she sat down on the bed.
Her hair was still dripping wet. Ruan Jiyan didn’t have the presence of mind to dry it. She lay on the bed, contemplating the events of the past few days.
She had been drugged and sent to Fu Qingyun’s bed. What made Ruan Jiyan feel confused and uneasy was that Fu Qingyun hadn’t forcibly given her a permanent mark, unlike in the previous life.
This was exactly what Ruan Jiyan found unbelievable. Fu Qingyun had relentlessly pursued her for months, so it was impossible for her to let her go so easily.
Ruan Jiyan knew that Fu Qingyun must have a conspiracy. Since she wanted to act, she would play along and see what tricks she was planning to pull.
“Gurgle—”
The sound of her hungry stomach echoed. Ruan Jiyan looked down and rubbed her belly. She hadn’t eaten anything all day, not even a sip of water. She was now both thirsty and hungry.
There was definitely no food in the room. To avoid starving to death here, Ruan Jiyan looked at the clock on the wall and decided to get up and look for food at four in the morning.
Ruan Jiyan cautiously opened the door. She was still wearing the slippers Fu Qingyun prepared for her and a thin bathrobe. She felt a slight chill when she stepped outside.
But her stomach was growling so loudly she couldn’t care about anything else.
She didn’t know which floor the kitchen was on, so Ruan Jiyan had to go down the stairs and search floor by floor.
Finally finding the kitchen, Ruan Jiyan opened the door. There was no readily edible food inside. The refrigerator only contained vegetables and frozen meat.
Ruan Jiyan closed the refrigerator door. After an internal struggle, she opened the refrigerator door again and took out a wilted carrot from the crisper drawer. She rinsed it under the tap and started chewing.
The carrot didn’t taste good at all. It was hard and lacked any moisture.
There was no trace of cooking smoke in this kitchen. Ruan Jiyan could tell that Fu Qingyun didn’t come back often. It seemed she had brought herself to her private residence.
Halfway through chewing the carrot, Ruan Jiyan lost all appetite. She stared at the frozen meat in the refrigerator, momentarily wishing she could take it out, thaw it, and have a good meal.
But this wasn’t her home; it was Fu Qingyun’s house.
“Ruan Jiyan?”
Ruan Jiyan sharply turned around at the sound of the voice, meeting Fu Qingyun’s confused eyes at the doorway.
