Transmigrated as the Villain’s Sword - Chapter 30
Manager Li’s life was temporarily saved, but Qinghan had yet to recover.
Qingtan handed the magical artifact containing the soul to Guan Luowei, regaining her dignified composure. “Miss Guan, I shall have to trouble you.”
Guan Luowei glanced at the naive soul and the partial upper body remaining in the artifact. She said to Qingtan, “The soul is damaged. Even if the soul returns to the body, there may be physical defects.”
Understanding her meaning clearly, Qingtan bit her lip. “Is there no way to compensate for it?”
“There is,” Guan Luowei replied, “but for her, it will be extremely painful.”
Qingtan hesitated visibly, but Guan Luowei added, “However, the method for repair is not urgent. You can discuss it with her after her soul has returned.”
“Very well.” This time, Qingtan didn’t hesitate.
When they reached Qinghan’s room, Qingtan dismissed the others, leaving only Guan Luowei and her sword. Ling Chenyan and Qingtan waited outside the folding screen, the latter’s face etched with worry.
Ling Chenyan comforted her: “Miss Qingtan, please rest easy. My Master’s technique is very good.”
Qingtan forced a smile. “I believe that, of course, but it’s natural to feel a bit nervous.”
“True, it’s only human.” Ling Chenyan offered a few more words of comfort before shifting the topic. “Miss Qingtan, you might see me as just an item spirit, but I am actually quite proficient in the art of divination and fortune-telling.”
“Oh?” Qingtan’s attention was drawn away. “You know those arts as well?”
“Indeed,” Ling Chenyan’s eyes rolled. “Not only do I know them, I am an expert. In fact, I just performed a divination for you.”
“Hmm?”
“I divined that in the near future, a young man will come to your door. He will claim he can cure Miss Qinghan’s Soul-Lost Disease, but in reality, he can’t. He will only make her condition worse. Furthermore, he harbors ill intentions toward you. If you meet him, remember: do not let him step foot inside Lingbao Pavilion.”
A look of deep thought appeared in Qingtan’s eyes. “Very well, I will remember.”
Ling Chenyan nodded with satisfaction. “I also performed a divination for Miss Qinghan.”
Qingtan’s gaze snapped to the sword. Startled, Ling Chenyan quickly steadied herself and said with an air of profound mystery, “Miss Qinghan will be safe and sound this time.”
Qingtan breathed a slow sigh of relief. “Then I shall take your auspicious words to heart.”
Their conversation ended there, and Ling Chenyan had achieved her goal. Although the Big Villain was helping to treat Qinghan, she wanted to solve the problem at its root just in case.
The sandalwood incense gathered and dissipated. After an unknown amount of time, Guan Luowei finally emerged.
Qingtan stepped forward immediately. “Miss Guan, are you alright? How is Han’er?”
Guan Luowei nodded to indicate she was fine, then glanced back. “A word in private, please.”
Qingtan, her gaze slightly dazed, bit her lip and followed Guan Luowei out, maintaining her decorum.
Hearing this, Ling Chenyan couldn’t remain calm. She had just told the woman the divination predicted safety; this face-slapping was happening too fast. While the two women walked to the door, she rushed to the bedside—and saw a pair of eyes as clear as water.
A question mark appeared over Ling Chenyan’s head. “You… are you awake?”
The woman on the bed blinked but did not speak.
Though there was no verbal answer, the sparkle returning to those eyes told Ling Chenyan that Guan Luowei had indeed succeeded in waking her. Confused, she asked the System.
The System explained: [Her soul has returned, but she is still a bit sluggish. She can’t react that quickly yet. In other words, she can hear you, but it will take time for her to respond.]
So that’s how it is.
A plan instantly formed in Ling Chenyan’s mind. she leaned close to the girl’s ear and whispered like a devil: “Mu Yunze will harm your sister, he is a dumbass. Mu Yunze will harm your sister, he is a dumbass… Mu Yunze is a dumbass…”
After Guan Luowei finished explaining the aftereffects and recovery methods to Qingtan, the two returned to the room.
Qingtan finally breathed a sigh of relief. “I truly thank you for this, Miss Guan. If you ever need Lingbao Pavilion in the future, we will assist with all our might.”
Guan Luowei nodded and asked a strange question: “She is… very important to you?”
Qingtan paused, her gaze drifting past the screen to the woman on the bed. Hiding her underlying emotions, she replied, “Yes. She is very important to me.”
Years ago, she had realized that Qinghan was important to her in more ways than one. After twenty years together, the girl was an indispensable part of her life. Furthermore, she held “vile” thoughts for her that she could never voice to outsiders.
She had ignored it before, but now she could no longer lie to her own heart.
Qingtan looked back at Guan Luowei and, after a moment of observation, offered a rare smile. “May I ask if Miss Guan has someone in her heart?”
Guan Luowei froze and shook her head. “No.” She paused, then bit her lip and added, “What does ‘liking’ someone feel like?”
In both her past and present life, she didn’t understand. Just as she had rejected Zong Xian without a second thought, she had ruthlessly turned away everyone who showed interest.
Qingtan looked at this “celestial being” who was ignorant of love and felt a spark of interest. She blinked her fox-like eyes and smiled. “Liking someone… is when you think of them and want to smile. You feel happy for no reason when you see them. When they are happy, you are happy; when they are sad, you are more distressed than they are. They pull at all your emotions. Most importantly, when they appear, your eyes see only them, and you wish for their eyes to see only you. You feel, from the bottom of your heart, that they are yours…”
As they spoke, they walked behind the screen.
Qingtan’s gaze instinctively bypassed the silver sword and landed on the woman on the bed. Guan Luowei, however, looked down thoughtfully, then looked up to see Yinye leaning over Qinghan, whispering something.
And Qinghan was actually giggling.
In a daze, Guan Luowei saw a quirky, ethereal girl leaning over the bed, trying her best to make the other happy. It was a beautiful scene; the girl’s smile was like a spring painting, making her own brow relax unconsciously.
Meanwhile, the “ethereal girl” Ling Chenyan, having whispered “Mu Yunze is a dumbass” dozens of times, finally left the bedside with satisfaction and lunged excitedly into Guan Luowei’s arms.
Guan Luowei caught the sword, her eyes flickering. She said to Qingtan, “If there is nothing else, I shall take my leave.”
Qingtan escorted them to the gate. “Thank you, Miss Guan.”
Guan Luowei nodded. “No need. Please, stay.”
The two parted. Guan Luowei held the sword in her arms, her mind still on Qingtan’s words. She didn’t even hear Ling Chenyan calling her.
Failing to share her success, Ling Chenyan grumbled to the System: [Sys, help me check where the Big Villain’s soul went. I’ve been calling her for ages and she hasn’t reacted.]
[…Is it possible she’s thinking about how to forge your body in a moment?]
Ling Chenyan realized: [Oh, right!]
For the rest of the way, Ling Chenyan lay quietly in Guan Luowei’s arms without another word.
A while later, Guan Luowei stopped before a majestic mountain temple. A sweeping monk stepped forward. “Is your surname Guan?”
Guan Luowei nodded. “Mm.”
The monk pressed his palms together. “Amitabha. Please follow me.”
The temple buildings were orderly and lacked the usual “celestial” air of other sects; the Buddhist Sect focused on cultivation within the mortal world. The air was thick with incense, and the ground was pristine.
Zen Master Guixu was waiting for them. He handed her a golden cage. “Amitabha. I wish you success.” Having said that, he didn’t linger. Soon, a voice was heard from outside: “Senior! Master said you aren’t allowed to go down the mountain for wine anymore!”
“I’m not drinking! I’m just going to look around! I’ve been stuck inside for two days!”
Guan Luowei looked at the Divine Artifact, the Heaven-Prison Cage, which had been handed to her so easily. Her mouth twitched; Guixu truly trusted her.
A golden light flashed, and a transparent, golden-hued middle-aged man appeared. “My Lord has instructed me. I shall cooperate with you to forge this girl’s body.”
Returning to the matter at hand, Guan Luowei grew solemn. She nodded, said, “I’ll trouble you,” and laid the silver sword on the bed. “Yinye, are you ready?”
Ling Chenyan felt nervous. “Ready.”
Meanwhile, at Lingbao Pavilion, someone reported to Qingtan that a man requested to see her, claiming he could cure her sister. Qingtan originally intended to refuse, but she remembered the sword’s “divination.”
Narrowing her eyes dangerously, she said, “Host him well. I will be there shortly.”
Mu Yunze was delighted when the guard told him to wait. He knew this method would work. After fifteen minutes, the enchanting woman in the qipao entered, pushing a small girl in a wheelchair. Mu Yunze froze, then offered a natural smile. “Miss… Qingtan.”
Qingtan’s expression was flawless. “How should I address you, sir?”
“My name is Mu Yunze.”
“Mr. Mu,” Qingtan nodded. “You say you can cure my sister?”
“Yes,” Mu Yunze took a sip of tea. “I can.”
“What do I need to prepare?”
Mu Yunze didn’t answer directly. He looked at Qinghan in the wheelchair, a look of sorrow appearing on his face. “Your sister looks so much like my own. Seeing her reminds me of my sister…” He glanced at Qingtan’s reaction. Seeing her look moved, he continued, “Unfortunately, my sister… alas, never mind.”
He sighed and looked at Qinghan with “brotherly” eyes. “Little sister, could you call me ‘Brother’?”
In this life, he hadn’t met Qingtan in the forest as he had before. Fearing Guan Luowei would get ahead of him again, he wanted to close the distance quickly. If the girl called him “Brother,” half the battle would be won.
He looked at the girl expectantly. The girl blinked her big eyes, seemingly processing for a long time. She looked at him, opened her lips, and spat out two words:
“Dumb… ass?”
Mu Yunze’s expression shattered.
Back at the temple, the body-forging reached its final stage. After the herbs outlined the skeleton and meridians, Guan Luowei shouted, “Heaven-Prison, now!”
Golden light erupted, and Ling Chenyan felt her soul being pulled outward.
“Focus!” Guan Luowei’s shout snapped her back to attention. Ling Chenyan dove into the prepared vessel. The herbal body began to surge with life. Fingerprints, limbs, torso, and then the head appeared—slowly manifesting the girl’s original form like spring willows sprouting branches.
Guan Luowei felt she had forgotten something, but every step was perfect. Then, as the girl’s completely naked form was revealed, she realized with a jolt: she had forgotten to prepare clothes.
Just as Ling Chenyan’s body finished manifesting, Guan Luowei instantly cast a spell to block the sight of the Divine Artifacts and reached out to cover her. But her hand was caught in mid-air by a slender, fair hand.
The girl sat up abruptly, holding her hand with surprise and wonder. “Master! I can actually touch you now!”
Guan Luowei’s hand stiffened. A blush traveled from her neck to her ears, staining her fair cheeks. She turned her face away, unable to answer.
Ling Chenyan, oblivious, thought her master was just emotional. Excited to see her long legs, she looked down. The smile on her face froze, then shattered.
Where are her panties?!
