Transmigrated as the Villain’s Sword - Chapter 51
Inside the room, the flickering candlelight cast dancing shadows of the two figures pressed closely together on the bed.
Ling Chenyan looked at the woman’s exquisitely painted features and her tightly pursed lips—lips that seemed to be trembling with restraint. She couldn’t help but grind her teeth.
Even at this point, Guan Luowei was still holding back. She was practically a saint of self-restraint. The more she resisted, the more Ling Chenyan wanted to break her composure.
Ling Chenyan moved her hand away from the woman’s cheek. Just as Guan Luowei let out a breath of relief, Ling Chenyan’s fingertips slid slowly behind her ear, through the strands of her hair, gently cupping her head.
As they drew closer, the cold fragrance emanating from the woman became even more intoxicating. Ling Chenyan leaned down and kissed her rounded earlobe.
Guan Luowei felt a wave of heat approaching. Before she could react, something soft and warm touched her ear. Almost instantly, a tingly, numbing sensation surged from her earlobe and swept through her entire body—a powerful, overwhelming tide that made her body tremble involuntarily.
Even her throat rolled uncontrollably.
Guan Luowei snapped her eyes open. Her grip on the bed curtain finally released, and her hands landed on the girl’s shoulders to push her away.
“Ling Chenyan.”
It was the first time she had called her by her full name. Her voice was low, hurried, and raspy, as if she were desperately suppressing something.
Ling Chenyan finally met the woman’s eyes. As she had hoped, the ice in those orbs had melted into water, shimmering with a deep, liquid light. The stoic rejection had transformed into an obscure spark that threatened to burn her to ashes at any moment.
Ling Chenyan didn’t retreat; instead, she pressed forward. She looped her arms around Guan Luowei’s slender neck and leaned in until their foreheads touched. “What is it… Master?~”
The girl’s eyes were filled with an autumn ripple, shimmering like spring water. As their breaths intertwined, the air became stagnant and thick.
Guan Luowei looked at the girl’s pink, tender lips and listened to her slightly breathless murmurs. She felt a fire ignite in her heart—a heat so intense it made her heart beat like a war drum, refusing to quiet and only growing more frantic.
Guan Luowei finally lost her restraint. Her arm wrapped around the girl’s slim waist, and with a gentle pull, the girl’s soft body fell into her lap. She held the girl tight and kissed those red lips.
For a moment, their breathing tangled together, and their two hearts drew closer than ever before.
However, that was as far as it went. Guan Luowei seemingly only knew how to place a kiss. Her lips simply stayed pressed against the girl’s, motionless.
Ling Chenyan waited for a long while, but Guan Luowei made no further move. Confused, she opened her eyes to see Guan Luowei’s eyelashes trembling. Then, the woman slowly opened her eyes too.
Eyes meeting eyes, Guan Luowei eventually pulled back. Her face was so flushed it looked like it could drip water. She bit her lower lip and looked away, her gaze darting about. Her voice was barely a whisper: “I… I don’t know how.”
Ling Chenyan couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Guan Luowei grew even more flustered and annoyed. She glared at her, then snapped her head away again. Ling Chenyan laughed until she was satisfied, then gently turned the woman’s head back. Her eyes were sparkling as she said:
“I’ll teach you.”
Then, before the woman could react, she kissed her again.
If Ling Chenyan was a qualified teacher, Guan Luowei was a brilliant student. She quickly mastered the technique, kissing the girl until her breath hitched and the corners of her eyes turned red.
The night was long, and Ling Chenyan finally paid the price for her earlier mockery.
The next day, when Ling Chenyan met Hua Niang with slightly swollen lips, Hua Niang merely raised an eyebrow. She shot a playful, teasing look at the deadpan Guan Luowei and said, “My, are there still mosquitoes in this winter weather? Look at how they bit your lips—tsk tsk, all swollen.”
Ling Chenyan’s face turned bright red. She ground her teeth and said, “Indeed. The mosquitoes of your Monster Race are a bit excessive.”
Hua Niang let out a “tsk” and laughed. “Is that so? Why don’t you sleep with me tonight? I promise no mosquitoes will bite you.”
Guan Luowei lifted her gaze, giving Hua Niang a sharp look, and interrupted: “We have come today because we need your help.”
Hua Niang naturally knew what they were referring to. She propped her chin on her hand and said, “It’s not impossible, but you have to tell me exactly why you want to see the Monster King. Otherwise, I wouldn’t dare bring strangers to her.”
Ling Chenyan and Guan Luowei exchanged a glance before Ling Chenyan looked away and said, “It’s nothing major. We just want to borrow a treasure from Her Majesty.”
“What treasure?” Hua Niang asked curiously. “Worth coming all this way to borrow?”
“It’s nothing much,” Ling Chenyan rubbed her nose, feeling a bit guilty. “Just… borrowing the Divine Artifact, the Heart-Seeking Mirror.”
Hua Niang’s eye twitched. “If it’s for that, you might as well give up.”
“Why?” Ling Chenyan asked in confusion. Guan Luowei also set down her water cup and looked at Hua Niang.
Hua Niang raised an eyebrow. “Why else? Because the artifact hasn’t recognized a master yet. How could she let you take it away if it hasn’t even chosen a host?”
Guan Luowei’s eyes shifted. “How do you know this?”
The matter of a Divine Artifact recognizing a master was of immense importance. Even as the Great Priestess of the Fox Clan, she shouldn’t necessarily be privy to such secrets.
Hua Niang took a sip of tea, set the cup down, and smiled. “I just know. If you don’t believe me, I’ll take you there, but whether you succeed or not will be entirely up to you.”
Ling Chenyan and Guan Luowei exchanged another look, and Guan Luowei nodded. Ling Chenyan stood up immediately. “Then let’s go. Right now.”
Hua Niang gave her a look of mock annoyance. “What’s the rush? The Sacrifice Festival is almost here anyway. Let me pack some things and I’ll go with you.”
Inside the Monster Palace, a cold and elegant woman with a human torso and a snake tail sat upon a glinting gold throne. Her dark gold hair reached down to her slender waist, and her pure gold pupils held a heartless indifference as she stared coldly at the man below.
“You are saying you have a way to make the Heart-Seeking Mirror recognize a master?”
The woman’s voice was a chilling, absolute cold. Her tone was flat, yet it sent an inexplicable shiver down one’s spine.
The man below seemed entirely unaffected. He even offered a gentle smile, placing his right hand over his left shoulder as he bowed. “Yes, my Queen.”
Medusa lifted her gaze. “Why should this King believe you?”
“The secrets of heaven cannot be revealed,” the man said, pointing toward the sky and acting mysterious. “But if Your Majesty does not believe me, then I have no other way.”
Her pure gold pupils fixed on him as a cruel, icy pressure crashed down. The man let out a muffled groan, and cold sweat instantly poured from his forehead. Even so, he resisted the urge to kneel. After a long while, Medusa finally withdrew the pressure.
“Human cultivator, if you dare to deceive this King, I will throw you into the Pit of Ten Thousand Snakes to be fed to them.”
“I wouldn’t dare, my Queen,” the man said, lowering his head to hide the sharp glint in his eyes. “It is my honor to serve you.”
Ling Chenyan and her party arrived at the legendary Monster Palace after two days of travel. From a distance, it looked like a golden radiance; as they drew closer, they realized the palace itself was constructed of gold. Not only were the walls gold, but even the tiles on the ground were made of high-quality glazed glass. It was blindingly opulent.
Ling Chenyan squinted her eyes. “This… this is too wealthy.”
Guan Luowei looked at her. “If your eyes hurt, hide behind me.”
Hua Niang was unusually silent. Ling Chenyan declined the offer and followed them to the palace entrance. Before they could step inside, a line of half-human, half-snake guards blocked their path. A tall, muscular snake-man gave them an unfriendly look. “What are you doing here? Get lost.”
Hua Niang, wearing a mask, tossed out her token. “Commander Sen Hao, you don’t even recognize me?”
The snake-man caught the token. After a glance, his eyes filled with surprise. He flicked his tongue. “So it is the Great Priestess.”
“Can we enter now?” Hua Niang asked.
Sen Hao hesitated. “Priestess, Her Majesty has important business these few days. She ordered us to lock down the palace…”
“Not even I can enter?” Hua Niang’s voice was colder than Ling Chenyan had ever heard it.
Sen Hao’s eyes darted to Ling Chenyan and Guan Luowei. “You may, Priestess. But these two…”
“Forget it,” Hua Niang said. “Then I won’t enter either.” She held out her hand to take her token back.
Sen Hao flicked his tongue, looking troubled. “Priestess, you are making this difficult for us.”
“I only wish to take my token and leave. How is that making things difficult?”
Sen Hao and his subordinates looked at each other. Realizing the woman’s special status, he gritted his teeth and threw the token back, stepping aside. “Please enter.”
As they entered, Ling Chenyan whispered, “Sister Hua, why do you feel different inside the palace than outside?”
Hua Niang paused, then smiled. “In the palace, one must be serious and maintain their dignity.”
Ling Chenyan thought that made sense, but remembering the guards’ reactions, she still felt Hua Niang was somewhat unusual.
Just then, the System spoke: [Male lead detected within range. Host, please be prepared.]
Ling Chenyan’s heart skipped a beat. I knew something felt off. Lockdown, no entry or exit—wasn’t this the setup for the male lead’s one-night stand with the Monster King in the original story?
“Something’s wrong!” Ling Chenyan immediately performed a quick “calculation” with her fingers, looking solemn. “I’ve calculated that the Monster King is in danger!”
[Sys, point the way!]
The System indicated the direction. Guan Luowei, having heard the girl’s inner thoughts, was already ready. Hua Niang, however, paused. “What danger could she possibly be in?”
“Heaven told me!” Ling Chenyan shouted. “Follow me!”
Seeing Guan Luowei looking so certain, Hua Niang was confused but followed them toward the inner palace. The closer they got, the more she felt something was wrong. Given Medusa’s personality, she wouldn’t leave her inner palace completely empty of servants.
They neared Medusa’s quarters only to be blocked by a barrier. Guan Luowei stepped forward. “I’ll do it.”
A wave of pure demonic energy shattered the barrier in an instant. This time, without waiting for Ling Chenyan, Hua Niang rushed inside.
Ling Chenyan and Guan Luowei followed. Inside, they saw a thick snake tail thrashing uneasily, wreaking havoc in the room and smashing everything to pieces.
Looking further in, they saw the cold woman with the snake tail. Her pupils were glowing with an icy gold light. Her right hand was tightly gripping a man’s neck, lifting him off the ground as if she were about to snap it.
Hearing the noise at the door, Medusa turned toward them. She paused, then threw the man across the room. With a flick of her tail, she coiled around Hua Niang and pulled her close.
“Your Majesty, don’t.”
Hua Niang’s mask had fallen off. Her eyes were red and her expression was one of humiliated pain. She looked at the mysterious, noble woman before her and whispered, “Let go of me.”
Medusa’s skin had turned a faint shade of pink. Her expression remained unchanged, but she stared into the eyes of the weeping woman with bestial gold pupils. “Why?” she asked.
Her voice was still cold and divine, yet Hua Niang heard the confusion in it. It wasn’t a question about why she was being rejected now, but a doubt that should have been asked long ago.
The tears in Hua Niang’s eyes finally fell, and she sobbed without speaking. Medusa felt a surge of irritation. Her tail slapped against the ground repeatedly. Then, she turned her gaze toward the two people at the door.
She sent a tail swipe their way. Guan Luowei, looking unusually awkward, pulled Ling Chenyan away to dodge the strike and exited the palace, leaving the space for the two inside.
At this point, even if Ling Chenyan had many questions, they were all answered. Her eyes went wide. Holy crap… Hua Niang and Monster King Medusa have a thing?!
What about the male lead? What even was Mu Yunze? Looking back at his “harem,” Ling Chenyan suddenly felt like the top of his head was looking very, very green.
