Transmigrated as the Villain’s Sword - Chapter 6
Since taking that hit, Ling Chenyan had fallen into a coma. In her daze, she saw a cluster of dazzling golden light. The light emitted a soft, lustrous glow, mending her battle-scarred body.
The pain gradually ebbed away. Ling Chenyan felt as if she were nestled in gentle, warm clouds. Drowsiness washed over her, and before sinking into a deep sleep, she heard a sigh that seemed to echo from ancient times—lonely, world-weary, and aloof.
A few days later, Ling Chenyan finally woke up. The moment she opened her eyes, she saw a crowd of old faces surrounding her, startling her so much she practically jumped off the bed.
Upon seeing her rise, the elders beamed with joy: “Your Highness, look! It’s alive!”
Ling Chenyan looked up in confusion, only to see the usually composed Guan Luowei striding toward her.
Her normally cold face held an almost unmaskable urgency. The corners of her eyes were slightly curved, and the red beauty mark beneath her eye seemed to sparkle with life in this moment.
What a visual critical hit.
That urgency lasted only a second before Guan Luowei regained her composure. She stepped forward, gripped the sword, and expertly infused demonic energy through her fingertips, “handing” Ling Chenyan from top to bottom. Ling Chenyan, already used to this, enjoyed the soak with a clear conscience.
Soon, Guan Luowei pulled back her hand and whispered, “How do you feel?”
Ling Chenyan bobbed up and down. She was about to nod and speak, but then remembered Guan Luowei couldn’t understand her, so she stayed silent.
Strangely, despite her silence, Guan Luowei breathed a slow sigh of relief, as if she had understood her meaning in that very instant.
The surrounding demon smiths, seeing Guan Luowei relax, let out massive sighs of relief themselves. Many of them looked at Ling Chenyan with complex expressions; if she looked closely, she could even detect a hint of resentment.
Ling Chenyan raised a mental eyebrow in confusion. One of the elders stepped forward, bowed respectfully, and said, “Your Highness, your sword has mostly recovered. If there is nothing else, we shall take our leave.”
Guan Luowei nodded. “You have worked hard these past few days.”
“It was no trouble at all,” one smith added quickly. “But Your Highness, since returning three days ago, you haven’t looked at your own injuries. Now that your sword is restored, you should let the demon doctors check your wounds.”
Guan Luowei nodded her acknowledgment, ordered rewards for the smiths, and sent them on their way.
Once they were gone, Ling Chenyan exchanged a silent look with Guan Luowei. From the snippets of conversation among the smiths, she had realized what Guan Luowei had been doing while she was unconscious.
Tsk tsk. Ignoring her own injuries just to check on me first.
Ling Chenyan kept her face still, but her heart was blooming with joy. Who wouldn’t be happy to be so valued by a beauty?
Guan Luowei gazed at the silver sword for a moment, then lowered her eyes and whispered, “Thank you, Yinye, for blocking that strike for me that day.”
She had only just transmigrated back; her current body couldn’t yet handle her former spiritual power, so she was naturally lacking in strength. Once her body fully adapted in a few days, those who dared to harm Yinye… none would escape.
Ling Chenyan circled Guan Luowei twice. While happy, she felt a bit guilty. In truth, she could have chosen not to save her. If Guan Luowei had been gravely injured, she could have delivered a fatal blow and finished her mission before the System returned.
Unfortunately, Ling Chenyan thought sheepishly, her heart leaned toward Guan Luowei. After all, the Big Villain’s past life was tragic enough; she couldn’t bring herself to help the “scumbag” male lead harm the heroine.
This definitely cannot let the System find out, Ling Chenyan resolved silently.
Because of their injuries, the previously scheduled Sword Soul Baptism was pushed back a bit.
Three days later, Guan Luowei took the silver sword to the Demon Holy Land—the Cleansing Pool. As the name suggested, it was where the demons performed weapon baptisms. It was said that a person and their weapon only had one chance to use it, typically reserved for life-bound weapons. Those who underwent the cleansing would see a surge in cultivation, and the bond between them would grow tighter.
Mountain after mountain, through layers of demon guards, they finally reached the mountainside. After proving her identity to the cave guards, Guan Luowei entered.
Unlike others who entered the pool as a group of elite youngsters, Guan Luowei’s special status and immense talent allowed her to enjoy the steaming pool alone.
From the moment she entered the cave, Ling Chenyan’s eyes lit up. A steaming hot spring! She hadn’t had a hot bath in ages; today her wish would finally be fulfilled!
With that thought, Ling Chenyan dived headfirst into the water. Just as she imagined, the hot spring water was perfectly toasty. She splashed around for quite a while before floating lazily toward Guan Luowei at her call.
“Yinye.” The woman’s warm breath brushed past her. There was a hint of doting in her helpless tone. “Finished playing?”
Ling Chenyan was about to speak happily when she looked up. The beauty’s jade-like cheeks were flushed pink. Her long, ink-black hair was draped over her white, rounded shoulders. Half her body was submerged, revealing only her delicate collarbones and a tempting cleavage.
Her eyes were shimmering as she looked at the sword with indulgence. The hand holding her gently squeezed the hilt as if in playful punishment.
Ling Chenyan: “…” Help.
Ling Chenyan froze on the spot, completely unsure of how to respond. Guan Luowei was puzzled by the sword’s sudden stillness, but she soon remembered she had business to attend to.
Guan Luowei suspended the longsword in front of her while she sat cross-legged in the water. she began channeling her demonic energy into the silver sword. Simultaneously, strange ripples appeared on the water’s surface. Rays of spiritual light entered Guan Luowei’s body, cycled through her meridians, and were then poured into the demon sword.
After her initial shock, Ling Chenyan quieted down and closed her eyes to feel the cleansing. On the surface, it looked like a sword and a person sitting across from each other. In reality, it was two women facing each other in the hot spring.
As the cleansing progressed, Ling Chenyan felt a strange connection forming with Guan Luowei. She didn’t dare interrupt, only whispering in her heart: [Why does this feel a bit weird? She won’t be able to hear me talk after this, will she?]
At that moment, Guan Luowei’s body trembled. She suppressed the urge to open her eyes and continued the process.
As the last wisp of demonic energy vanished, she watched the sword drifting in front of her, her face already calm.
Just now, she seemed to have heard a woman’s voice. In this cave, if there was anyone else, it could only be Yinye’s sword soul. But she remembered clearly that in her past life, Yinye was just a toddler at this stage, only maturing later—and even then, she was an excessively quiet child.
She didn’t sound like that voice—sweet, warm, yet mischievous. That was clearly an adult. And what she had said…
As Guan Luowei pondered, the voice rang out again: [Ah, what a shame. She really can’t hear me talk.]
Guan Luowei’s lashes fluttered. She instinctively looked at the sword. The voice said she couldn’t hear her, yet she clearly could. If it wasn’t the sword speaking, what was she hearing?
In a flash of insight, Guan Luowei remembered a lost ancient secret technique—Mind Reading.
At this thought, Guan Luowei’s breathing hitched. She lifted her moist eyes and called out softly, “Yinye.”
The next second, Ling Chenyan landed uncontrollably in Guan Luowei’s hand. Looking at the woman’s flushed cheeks, watery eyes, and the near-zero distance between them, she couldn’t hold it back.
[Oh my god, oh my god, too close! I can’t take it!] Ling Chenyan screamed internally. [With such beauty in front of me, how can an old pervert like me resist the temptation?!]
Guan Luowei’s breath hitched. Then, as if realizing something, her face exploded in a deep red. She bit her lower lip and instinctively sank deeper into the water, leaving only her head exposed.
Looking at the suddenly shy Guan Luowei, Ling Chenyan’s heart nearly melted. What kind of gap-moe beauty is this? Cold and aloof in public, but a shy little cutie who hides in the water in private.
Staring at that alluring red beauty mark, Ling Chenyan couldn’t help but sigh: “Sorry, System. I’ve decided to defect starting right now.”
Guan Luowei turned her back to her and whispered, “Yinye, go outside and check things out first.”
Ling Chenyan drooled mentally at the beauty’s graceful back as she floated out. A shy beauty is just too cute.
Inside the cave, Guan Luowei finally breathed a sigh of relief as she watched the sword vanish. She climbed out and dressed quickly, her face returning to its calm mask.
Before leaving, she looked back at the pool. The ripples were peaceful; no one knew what had just happened.
Ling Chenyan was floating outside, leisurely enjoying the mountain view, when she heard the two guards: “Your Highness.”
She turned to see Guan Luowei emerging.
Guan Luowei nodded curtly, glanced at Ling Chenyan, and walked down the mountain. This cold demeanor was a far cry from the alluring scene in the cave.
But Ling Chenyan didn’t mind. she quickly followed, her blade bouncing along happily.
Guan Luowei couldn’t help but steal a glance. Seeing the sword bouncing and swaying, she inexplicably pictured a lively young girl humming a song and skipping because she was in a good mood.
Guan Luowei looked away, feeling her heart lighten significantly.
As soon as they returned, they were summoned to the Demon Hall. The Emperor had business to discuss. Guan Luowei’s expression immediately turned cold as she headed there.
Nowadays, the Demon Realm was running smoothly. Unless it was urgent, meetings weren’t held in the main hall.
Sure enough, the hall was full. The Emperor sat solemnly at the head, nodding to Guan Luowei to sit beside him.
The atmosphere was grim. A man to the Emperor’s left stood up: “Your Majesty, many disciples we sent out for experience a month ago have suddenly lost contact. Battle marks were found near their last known locations. Many disappeared on the same day. If we hadn’t received a distress signal yesterday, we might still be in the dark.”
Another added, “Yes, Your Majesty. We suspect someone is intentionally targeting our talented youth. If they are all lost, the Demon Realm cannot afford the price!”
The Old Emperor frowned. “This is indeed strange. First, contact the remaining disciples and have them return. Tong Di, take some men to investigate. If someone is truly targeting us, we cannot let them go.”
As the red-haired youth was about to accept the order, Guan Luowei spoke: “Your Majesty, let me investigate. Tong Di should stay here.”
The room went silent, then erupted in protest: “Your Highness, it’s not safe for you to go out.”
Guan Luowei lowered her eyes. “This matter likely started because of me. It is only right that I investigate.”
She had suspects. The Lingxiao Sect was notoriously protective. After she beat Mu Yunze like that, it was expected they would find a way to strike back.
The crowd was bewildered, but the Old Emperor caught Guan Luowei’s eye. She gave him a reassuring look.
Their small interaction went unnoticed. Having received her confirmation, the Old Emperor cleared his throat and finalized the decision: “Very well. Since Her Highness is willing, the investigation is hers.”
