Transmigrating into a Scumbag Alpha, a Dainty Omega is Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 24
The interview wrapped up at eight in the evening.
Xiao Yun and Jiang Cha took their key cards and headed upstairs. Out of the five couples, the others had already retired to their rooms to rest.
The seaside villa had a refined atmosphere, with a decor style leaning towards South Asian “fresh-chic.” Hanging orchids dangled from the ceiling, and the space was filled with greenery and vibrant roses in full bloom.
As she walked, Xiao Yun massaged her wrist, nodding in satisfaction as she glanced at Jiang Cha. “What do you think of the place?”
Walking behind her, Jiang Cha shifted her gaze away from Xiao Yun’s hand. “Everything is quite nice.”
They reached their door. Xiao Yun swiped the card and pushed the door open, revealing the room’s interior in an instant. Her eyes paused.
For a seaside villa, the room was surprisingly small. One bed, one dressing table, one wardrobe, and a bathroom—it looked like a study that had been converted on short notice. It was clear the production team was cutting corners, and Xiao Yun knew there were cameras just waiting for her to lose her temper. This room wasn’t even as big as the bathroom at her house; the original host would have definitely thrown a fit by now.
She didn’t mind the size, but there was only one bed and absolutely no floor space to lay a mat. Did this mean she had to share the bed with Jiang Cha?
Her eyelashes fluttered. “Jiangjiang, what do you think of the room?”
Jiang Cha, looking indifferent, stepped inside and looked around before smiling. “It’s great. As long as I’m with Yunyun, I can stay anywhere.” She spoke so sincerely that if the cameras weren’t there, Xiao Yun might have actually believed her. Jiang Cha really did have a talent for acting. In all her years since debut, she had always faced the camera with a smile, never letting any dissatisfaction show.
“I think it’s great too.” Xiao Yun entered, found the disposable slippers, and pulled Jiang Cha to sit on the bed. “Let’s change our shoes first.”
Jiang Cha was momentarily stunned. “Okay.”
Xiao Yun was wearing heels herself and knew how uncomfortable they were; Jiang Cha’s heels were even higher, meaning her discomfort was likely worse. After changing, they sat on the bed side-by-side, unsure of what to say.
“Do you want to shower first?” Xiao Yun asked, rubbing her wrist.
Jiang Cha gripped her skirt. “You go first, I have a few things to do.” She was watching Xiao Yun’s movements.
“Alright then.”
Xiao Yun stood up, grabbed her change of clothes, and headed to the bathroom, taking her phone with her. There were no cameras in the bathroom. Once inside, she finally let out a breath.
She messaged Jiang Cha: Do you want to change rooms? This place is too small.
Jiang Cha: Do you find it too stifling? The conditions here certainly don’t compare to your home.
Xiao Yun: No, it’s just that there’s no room to sleep on the floor.
Jiang Cha sent a smiley face: Does a bigger room mean you can sleep on the floor? You forgot there are cameras.
Xiao Yun went silent for a moment. Fine, if Jiang Cha, as an Omega, could commit to the bit, it wouldn’t be right for her to be the awkward one.
Xiao Yun: Alright. Sorry to put you through this.
Jiang Cha: I’m heading out for a moment. You go ahead and shower.
When Xiao Yun finished her shower, she dried her hair while calling out for Jiang Cha, but she had already left. Xiao Yun breathed a sigh of relief. While she didn’t know exactly what Jiang Cha was doing, she knew she was skilled at winning people over—perhaps she was greeting the director or making an appearance before the staff.
After all, the director had called “cut” earlier specifically to prevent them from “exploding” in popularity. The “traffic code” (guaranteed viral content) had been handed to Xia Yueyao’s couple, so anything provocative done by the others would likely be edited out completely. The plan to go down the “deliberately intimate” route was no longer viable.
Xiao Yun felt it was better to just “lie flat” and relax; it removed the psychological pressure. Jiang Cha, however, had returned specifically to take the top spot. Xiao Yun decided not to overthink it; she was just a “cannon fodder” character—how could she stop whatever Miss Jiang had planned?
She took the opportunity to organize the “ancestor’s” clothes and hang them up, hoping someone would notice this carefully designed “artificial sweetener.” Just as she knelt down, Jiang Cha returned, carrying a bag from a pharmacy.
Xiao Yun turned to her. “Are you feeling unwell?”
Jiang Cha shook her head, placed the bag on the bed, and walked toward her. “Your hand is injured, stop tidying. I’ll do it in a bit.”
Xiao Yun was surprised as she looked at the medicine box on the bed. So Jiang Cha had gone out to buy medicated patches? Jiang Cha certainly knew the recipe for artificial sweetener.
Xiao Yun coughed. “My hand is fine, you went out for nothing.” She sat on the bed as Jiang Cha carefully peeled open a patch. “You were injured because of me.”
Xiao Yun obediently extended her hand. Jiang Cha’s hands were slender and white, with clear veins. She applied the patch gently and with great focus. It didn’t look like she was just putting on a show; she seemed genuinely worried. It was hot outside, and Xiao Yun didn’t know how far she had run to find a pharmacy.
Close up, fine beads of sweat had broken out on Jiang Cha’s forehead, and her chest rose and fell with her breath. Xiao Yun was dazed as she looked at her. Perhaps the “little ancestor” wasn’t as terrifying as she had imagined.
“Done.”
Jiang Cha looked up and met her gaze. Noticing the way Xiao Yun was looking at her, she quickly looked away. “Is there something on my face?”
Xiao Yun shook her head. “No.” She then sent Jiang Cha a smiley face and a “thank you” via text. Jiang Cha replied with a smile and began organizing their things. “Your hand isn’t well, don’t get in the way.”
Xiao Yun gave an “oh” and sat by to watch her. Jiang Cha opened Xiao Yun’s suitcase first. “You brought books?” She took them out neatly and placed them on the table.
“I plan to read for a bit tonight,” Xiao Yun messaged.
Jiang Cha nodded and began hanging up her clothes, including the bikini they had bought. Xiao Yun coughed and decided to play on her phone. After a short while, she almost jumped off the bed in excitement.
They were on the hot search list, in the top three.

Before she even clicked in, she shouted, “Jiangjiang!” and handed her the phone.
Jiang Cha glanced at it. The her fans were celebrating her return. Comments praised her stunning red dress and the surprising visuals of Xiao Yun, with many CP fans already imagining scenes of the two of them together.
Xiao Yun was a bit embarrassed by the comments but kept scrolling. These three topics had taken over the headlines, pushing Xia Yueyao’s tags down. Jiang Cha really was something. There were even comments from people wanting an “ugly wife” like Xiao Yun if it meant she was wealthy and polite. Xiao Yun’s follower count had jumped by nearly 100,000 in a very short time.
The Mission: One-Day Shopkeepers
The next day, the theme for the variety show was revealed: “One-Day Shopkeepers of Coconut Grove Island.” Each couple would draw a different shop to manage. The proceeds would be donated to Project Hope primary schools. The goal was to test the harmony between the couples.
It was a scorching summer day. No one wanted to go far, but the production team provided no transportation. They had to reach their destinations on their own.
Director Liao Yanyan told the complaining couples, “That’s for you to figure out.”
During the vehicle lottery, Xia Yueyao’s couple drew a sightseeing car. Honey’s couple got a motorcycle with a sunshade. The last draw was between a sedan and walking. Jiang Cha held the card, her fingers peeling the tape.
Liao Yanyan signaled the cameraman to zoom in. “Let’s see who are the luckiest and unluckiest today.”
Jiang Cha peeled it back. The words “Sedan Car” appeared. While everyone cheered, Xiao Yun noticed Jiang Cha looking solemn. She wasn’t happy. She looked at the dejected OO couple who would have to walk.
Xiao Yun understood. To gain favor on a variety show, it starts with the small things.
Jiang Cha turned to her. “Yunyun, I want to…”
“I’ll listen to whatever you want. Go ahead,” Xiao Yun replied immediately, providing the perfect “loving couple” response.
Jiang Cha pursed her lips. “I haven’t even said anything yet.”
Xiao Yun glanced at the other couple. “I know what you’re going to say.”
Jiang Cha whispered, “Thank you,” and walked over to the other pair. “Let’s swap transportation. You drive there during the day, and we’ll take the car back in the evening.”
The other couple was moved to tears. They had thought Jiang Cha was a cold diva, but she had given them the car to protect them from heatstroke. As they drove away, they noted that the internet rumors about her were clearly wrong.
Xia Yueyao, watching from her sightseeing car, made a snide remark about people sacrificing their comfort for “attention.” The “OO” couple, however, defended Jiang Cha, noting that she didn’t need to fish for traffic when she was already trending.
Behind them, Xiao Yun held a sunshade over Jiang Cha. “Sorry, Yunyun, I made you walk today.”
Xiao Yun looked at her flushed cheeks and put an arm around her shoulder. “Our Alpha bodies are tough, but what about you? You were out in the sun yesterday for half an hour and came back drenched in sweat and exhausted. Today it’s an hour’s walk. What if you get heatstroke?”
Jiang Cha bit her lip. “I… I didn’t think that far ahead.” She had truly just been considering the other Omegas’ difficulties.
Xiao Yun patted her shoulder. “Look at you, all scared. How could the Second Miss let you walk?”
She handed the umbrella to Jiang Cha, walked to the side of the road, and stuck out her thumb. “Stop! The car!”
Vehicles screeched to a halt. The island was full of tourists, many of whom were fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the stars. Three drivers practically fought for the chance to give them a ride. Xiao Yun picked a calm driver and led Jiang Cha into the car.
As the car pulled away, Jiang Cha looked at the production crew being left behind. “What about the filming crew?”
Xiao Yun, sitting back with her legs crossed, replied crossly, “Let them walk!”
