What's Wrong with Spoiling You? [Entertainment Industry] - Chapter 17
“Want to go buy some snacks?” Yun Bo looked at the person before her, simply wanting to spend a little more time together.
Tan Yun finished the juice in her cup, licked her lips, and took the tissue from her hand before asking, “Shouldn’t you go home and rest?”
Yun Bo chuckled. “What, Xiao Yun doesn’t want to stay with me a little longer?”
“No, no!” Tan Yun shook her head, but her eyes felt dry as she wondered if Yun Bo might be tired.
Yun Bo reached out a hand toward her. “Then let’s go. I still don’t know what snacks you like.”
Tan Yun gave her a worried glance. “Alright…”
At the mall entrance, Tan Yun suddenly stopped and blocked her path. “No, you really should go back and rest.”
Yun Bo lowered her head, puzzled. “What’s wrong?”
Tan Yun tugged at her wrist, pulling her away. “You need to rest.”
Blinking her dry eyes, Yun Bo held onto her hand in return. “What’s really going on?”
Tan Yun hailed a taxi and said, “You’re exhausted. Just having a meal with me is enough. Now you have to go home early and rest.”
Yun Bo tilted her head, studying her, then suddenly pulled her into an embrace, laughing softly.
Caught off guard, Tan Yun bit her lip. The beauty had already hugged her twice today, yet she couldn’t bring herself to feel happy. Her heart whispered, Does she just see me as a little sister?
The taxi driver rolled down the window, eyeing the two. “You getting in or not?”
Yun Bo nodded, noticing the faint disappointment on Tan Yun’s face. She hooked a finger under her chin. “You’re upset now? Weren’t you the one who wanted me to go home earlier?”
With the driver still watching, Tan Yun’s face burned like a fiery sunset. “Who said I didn’t want you to leave? You’re the one who won’t let go.”
“Fine, I’ll head back first. You can clean my place when you return.” With that, she released her and got into the car.
Tan Yun exhaled. “See you later.”
“Mm!”
Once Yun Bo was gone, Tan Yun let out a heavy sigh. Though reluctant to see her leave, she couldn’t bear the thought of her dragging her tired body around the mall just to keep her company.
Turning around, she spotted Cheng Xiaoai and hurried over, excitedly recounting her recent victory.
Cheng Xiaoai slung an arm over her shoulder. “Don’t celebrate too soon. Someone like Gu Yuan has plenty of tricks up her sleeve. Who knows what she’ll pull next?”
Tan Yun nodded. “But at least she won’t cause any more trouble for now.”
Cheng Xiaoai added, “And she’s not your only competition. I’ve heard the candidates from each province this time are all top-tier talents.”
“I know that. Oh, guess what? Yun Bo agreed to be my model!” Tan Yun’s face lit up like a blooming flower, while Cheng Xiaoai’s smile froze in place.
“She really agreed to model for you?” Her concern wasn’t unfounded—Yun Bo was a superstar. Would her agency really allow her to model for an unknown designer without even charging a fee?
“Of course!” Tan Yun thought back to that night, still feeling like it was all a dream. But the beauty had promised her.
Cheng Xiaoai stared at her in disbelief. “Just when did you two even meet?”
“I told you before, she moved in a few weeks ago, and we officially met just a few days ago when we went on that trip.” Seeing the puzzled look on her face, the thought in my mind grew even stronger.
“Are you sure you hadn’t met before? Like during our senior year, did you ever run into some beauty and ask for an autograph or something?” Cheng Xiaoai still couldn’t believe it. Based on what she was saying, even if it was love at first sight, she wouldn’t go to such lengths for her.
Tan Yun didn’t understand what she was getting at and asked, “Do you think she treats me like a little sister? Is that why she’s so nice to me?”
Cheng Xiaoai circled her while stroking her chin and said, “Tan Yun, are you really this dense or just pretending? It’s obvious she’s into you.”
Tan Yun defended herself, “How am I dense?”
Cheng Xiaoai was baffled again, “Shouldn’t you be surprised right now? Or at least shy?”
“If I act shy after you call me dense, wouldn’t that just prove I really am dense?” Tan Yun glared at her and voiced her doubts, “Look, we just met, and she’s already so good to me. Plus, she just stood up to Gu Yuan like that. Doesn’t that mean she sees me as a little sister?”
Cheng Xiaoai stopped in her tracks and raised her voice a notch, “Did you not hear what I just said?”
“What did you say?” Tan Yun looked genuinely clueless.
Cheng Xiaoai repeated, “I said she’s into you.”
Tan Yun nudged her and laughed, “Stop teasing me. What did you say?”
“You really didn’t hear?” Cheng Xiaoai stared at her in disbelief and rephrased, “She likes you.”
Tan Yun looked at her seriously, not joking at all, “I really didn’t hear.”
Suddenly, she seemed to realize something and patted her shoulder, “Right, I didn’t say anything. I was just messing with you.”
“You were messing with me?” Tan Yun swatted her hand and glared at her indignantly.
When they finally got off work, Tan Yun looked at her little bicycle and said to Cheng Xiaoai, who was also pushing her bike beside her, “Xiaoai, I want to change my ride.”
Cheng Xiaoai unlocked her bike and asked, “What do you want to switch to?”
“An electric bike. Bicycles are too slow.” Otherwise, I’ll get home too late and keep missing her.
Cheng Xiaoai saw right through her, “Don’t even think about it. You already pedal your bike at 60 mph. If you get an electric bike, who knows what’ll happen.”
Tan Yun shot her a sidelong glance—she was definitely getting that bike.
Speeding all the way, she finally reached her building, locked her bike in the stairwell, and sprinted up the stairs with all her might.
Just as she was about to knock on the beauty’s door, Tan’s Mother stepped out and said, “Did climbing the stairs make you dizzy? Your home is over here.”
Tan Yun gritted her teeth and thought, “Mom, are you doing this on purpose?”
Tan’s Mother turned back to the living room and called out to her dawdling daughter, “The neighbor across the way sent over some fruit again. Said they bought it while on a business trip.”
