What's Wrong with Spoiling You? [Entertainment Industry] - Chapter 22
What do you most want to call her?
Beauty…
Wife?
“Still haven’t decided?” She leaned in, her breath hot against Tan Yun’s cheek, scorching with a predatory intensity.
“I…” The fire within her burned even hotter, flames licking from head to toe. Her lashes fluttered, eyes glazed with intoxication as saliva pooled rapidly in her mouth.
The heated breaths caressed her face, making her heart grow increasingly restless.
“Yun… Yun…”
“Wrong again…” The hands supporting her back slid upward, an index finger tilting her chin as it pressed against her slightly parted pink lips. “Last chance.”
“B-beauty?” Her voice trembled violently. Tan Yun clung to her waist like a drowning fish, instinctively arching into the impending kiss.
Her chest heaved dramatically as the millimeter gap between them vanished. Half of her flushed lips were captured, and Tan Yun pressed forward eagerly.
Snap—
The hallway lights suddenly blazed on. Tan Yun kept her eyes shut, panting heavily—she didn’t need to guess what had happened.
Tan Mu stood frozen in the doorway, trash bag in hand, before quickly regaining her composure. She eyed the two locked in their awkward stance. “What are you two doing?”
The shock left Tan Yun momentarily speechless.
Yun Bo had pulled away the instant the lights came on, though the fright still lingered.
Tan Yun’s mind was mush, her face burning crimson. After a long pause, she managed, “Yun Bo was helping me kill a cockroach.”
The flimsy excuse couldn’t fool Tan Mu, who saw right through them.
“How do you kill cockroaches in the dark?” Tan Mu deadpanned, setting the trash down with a cold expression.
Tan Yun had expected an outburst, but her mother simply left after that remark, leaving her baffled by the abandoned garbage bag.
Yun Bo, however, understood her future mother-in-law’s tacit approval. Though desire still simmered, she reined it in, mindful of Tan Yun’s shaken state.
Once her breathing steadied, Tan Yun glanced up. “I’ll… go take out the trash.”
“I’ll come with you.” Yun Bo swiftly grabbed the bag. The kiss had been abrupt, and without being able to confess outright, she worried Tan Yun might overthink things.
Already uncertain about Yun Bo’s feelings, Tan Yun now felt utterly lost—like briefly holding something precious only to have it slip away. Tears threatened to spill.
“Xiao Yun!” Yun Bo couldn’t let the misunderstanding fester. She wrapped her arms tightly around Tan Yun from behind. “Why do you think I’ve been sending gifts to your mom every day?”
I want everyone who loves you to know my love is no less than theirs.
Before Tan Yun could respond, Yun Bo continued, “And do you really believe I argued with that Gu Yuan today just because you live next door and I felt obligated?”
She sighed softly. “I’m not a good person.”
But I’ll give you everything I have.
“Also, have you ever wondered why I gave you my keys?”
“I…” Tan Yun had pondered these questions endlessly but never found clear answers. If she couldn’t piece it together now, she truly was hopeless.
She couldn’t contain the excitement on her face, her heart burning with passion.
Was this beauty confessing to her?
Yun Bo released the tight grip around her waist but couldn’t resist kissing her cheek, her voice hoarse as she whispered, “When you’ve figured it out, give me the other half of that kiss.”
“I… I…” Tan Yun, who had always had a bit of a flirtatious nature, tugged at her arm and murmured, “Actually, I like you too.”
Yun Bo couldn’t quite hear what she was saying and pulled her into an embrace, breathing in the scent of her hair. “Then shouldn’t Xiao Yun give me a chance to pursue you?”
Tan Yun nodded. She had always taken relationships seriously, but what she had never dared to tell Yun Bo was… she had once been terribly, terribly deceived.
There was a comforting saying that everyone encounters a few scoundrels in their life, but getting past that hurdle was never easy.
“I’ll go take out the trash. You should get some rest.”
Yun Bo hummed in agreement but showed no intention of letting her go.
After a long moment, she finally loosened her hold and said, “I forgot my keys when I came out. Xiao Yun, could you open the door for me?”
Tan Yun took the key from around her neck and inserted it into the lock.
“Leave the trash for tomorrow. Go back and sleep now.”
“Okay.”
Watching as the door closed behind her, Yun Bo waved at the peephole before finally retreating into her own apartment.
The tenderness in her eyes gradually faded. She had heard every word Gu Yuan said earlier that day.
That person she had yet to meet—it was time they paid their dues.
Her phone showed ten missed calls and five unread messages. She casually opened one and saved the photo Youyou had sent over.
Even though the angle had been carefully set, the paparazzo’s photography skills were lacking—the photo clearly showed only her face, which left her deeply unsatisfied.
Youyou had waited anxiously all night and finally received her call, immediately saying, “Duanduan, if you keep acting this recklessly, even the director won’t be able to protect you.”
She changed into slippers. “Why would I need his protection?”
“Duanduan, our contract includes a confidentiality clause. If the director hadn’t intercepted those photos, who knows how much of a scandal would be blowing up online right now.”
Yun Bo remained indifferent. “He intercepted them because my entire face was exposed. If it had just been my back or profile, he would’ve been thrilled to release them.”
Youyou finally understood the director’s motive—the call had been a power play. “I get it now.”
When her gaze fell on the painting hanging on the wall, a smile returned to her face. “Next time something like this happens, send the photos to me first.”
Youyou agreed, now realizing that Yun Bo wasn’t just a superstar—she was a free agent with the means to remain untethered to any entertainment company.
Before hanging up, she recalled the woman she had encountered at the mall. There was something familiar about her, but she couldn’t quite place who it was.
“I need information on someone—including everyone around her.”
