What's Wrong with Spoiling You? [Entertainment Industry] - Chapter 25
Tan Yun didn’t want her to worry and said, “That was all in the past. He wouldn’t dare now.”
But judging by his earlier aggression, it was clear this wasn’t just about past incidents. Yun Bo felt a flicker of anger and shot him a sharp glare. “Whatever you did to her before, I’ll make sure you pay for every bit of it.”
Yang Dehai’s backside was still numb from the fall, and under her piercing gaze, his bravado wavered. He had assumed she was just some weak woman, never expecting her to be so strong.
“Whether I beat her or not is my damn business! What’s it to you, an outsider?” Yang Dehai rubbed his sore rear, only daring to talk big—he didn’t have the guts to actually confront her. The way she had nearly crushed his wrist earlier was enough of a warning.
Tan Yun was just as surprised by her strength, having caught his fist barehanded. Worried, she asked, “Does your hand hurt? Let me see.”
Yun Bo had never wanted to reveal this tougher side of herself. Her opera master had drilled into her the principle of “softness with hidden strength,” and she had endured grueling training for it. Against Yang Dehai, a man all bulk and no skill, overpowering him was effortless.
“I’m fine,” she replied.
Yang Dehai causing trouble at the company wasn’t a one-time thing. Before, Tan Yun would transfer money to his account before coworkers arrived, just to get rid of him quickly. But today, because Yun Bo had accompanied her and they’d had breakfast, she was late—leading to this humiliating scene.
Seizing the moment when they weren’t looking, Yang Dehai turned to flee, not wanting to risk the police showing up and landing him in jail for a couple of days.
Yun Bo kept him in her peripheral vision, wary of a sudden attack. Seeing him try to slip away, she swiftly stepped forward and swept her foot out, tripping him. Pressing her heel down hard on his hand, she ground it mercilessly. “I hope today is the last time you come looking for her.”
Tan Yun was stunned by her actions, her perception of Yun Bo completely reshaped—this beauty was downright formidable. She walked over and added sharply, “Stop going around claiming you’re my father. Don’t forget, you and Mom are divorced. The agreement was crystal clear—you have no right to interfere in our lives anymore.”
Yang Dehai trembled with rage, Yun Bo’s foot still crushing his fingers, making him gasp in pain. “Tell this woman to get her foot off me!”
Tan Yun shrugged. “Why would I do that?”
Yang Dehai had come here hopeful, only to end up suffering. He glared venomously at Tan Yun. “After raising you for over a decade, this is how you repay me?”
“Don’t act so noble. At most, you provided my mom with a sperm cell.” In the past, Tan Yun had feared him, avoiding him whenever possible. But with Yun Bo beside her, she felt no fear now.
Yun Bo tilted her chin slightly. “Consider this a warning. You’d better not let me catch you trying this again.”
She twisted her heel, drawing a pained whimper from Yang Dehai. If it weren’t for the office crowd arriving, she wouldn’t have let him off so easily—she didn’t want to cause Tan Yun any trouble.
Yang Dehai scrambled up, gritting his teeth. For now, he’d retreat. But once this woman was gone, he’d be back for his money.
Before he could take two steps, someone grabbed his shoulder.
Turning around, he saw two uniformed police officers.
One officer withdrew his hand and said, “Hello, Mr. Yang. Please come with us. You’ve been accused of extortion.”
Yang Dehai frowned, glancing at the two figures standing in the distance, and forced a smile. “Brothers, you must have the wrong person. How could I possibly be involved in extortion?”
The officer didn’t waste words. “We’ve already heard the recording of your earlier conversation. Please cooperate.”
“Damn it!” Yang Dehai clenched his fists, realizing the woman who had claimed to transfer money had actually been recording him.
Watching Yang Dehai being taken away, Yun Bo’s expression finally softened. She tucked Tan Yun’s disheveled hair behind her ear and wiped the sweat from her forehead, saying gently, “Next time something like this happens, remember to call me first.”
Tan Yun felt her girlfriend was absolutely perfect—gentle, caring, and capable of driving away scumbags. Her admiration for Yun Bo soared. “He probably won’t come back. Don’t worry!”
In her past life, Yun Bo had encountered many people like Yang Dehai—those who, once they latched onto someone, wouldn’t let go easily. It was just like when she had first been reborn, when Yun Duan’s stepmother shamelessly came demanding money. If not for her ruthless personality, she might have ended up like Yang Dehai.
“It’s getting late. You should head back to the company. I’ll come see you again at noon.” She had just finished filming a week’s worth of scenes in one go and finally had a week off to spend with Tan Yun.
Tan Yun had been busy with sample garments lately. The night before, Cheng Xiaoai had helped her connect with an embroidery master. As long as she kept an eye on the progress, the samples should be ready within the week.
Determined to give Yun Bo a surprise, she said, “I’ll head in now. Be careful on your way back.”
Yun Bo nodded and waved at her.
Cheng Xiaoai stood at the company entrance, watching the two gaze lovingly at each other.
A male colleague beside her asked, “Who’s that beauty who came with Tan Yun? If she’s single, can you introduce us?”
As soon as he finished speaking, a few other colleagues eagerly chimed in, “Does she work around here?”
Just as Cheng Xiaoai was about to refuse, Tan Yun answered, “Sorry, she’s taken!”
“Yeah, she’s taken.”
Cheng Xiaoai gave her an impressed look, slinging an arm over her shoulder as they walked into the company. “When your neighbor there confronted your ex-dad earlier, she was seriously badass.”
“I think so too,” Tan Yun replied happily, basking in the praise.
“So what’s going on between you two now?” Cheng Xiaoai asked, remembering that Yun Bo had mentioned she couldn’t reveal their relationship yet due to work reasons.
“She’s courting me.” Tan Yun actually wanted to skip this stage, but she also felt they needed time to understand each other better. If Yun Bo ever lost interest and broke up with her, it would be heartbreaking.
“She’s courting you? No wonder she’s being so romantic.” Cheng Xiaoai’s opinion of Yun Bo had changed drastically. She used to think Yun Bo might not have deep feelings for Tan Yun, but today, seeing the murderous look in her eyes when she heard Yang Dehai had often hit Tan Yun—not to mention how she twisted his wrist and stomped on his hand—only a true warrior would dare do that.
In short, Yun Bo’s image in her mind was just as Tan Yun had described—a beauty, an all-around beauty.
She gave Tan Yun a firm pat on the shoulder and asked, “Does she know about that incident from your university days?”
“Gu Yuan mentioned it during our argument yesterday, so I think she probably knows,” Tan Yun replied, not wanting her to learn about that part of her past.
“Just pretend it never happened. It’s not like you’ll ever run into that woman again anyway,” Cheng Xiaoai said, feeling irritated just thinking about that scumbag. “I heard she’s changed careers now.”
Tan Yun hummed in agreement. After all these years, it was best if they never crossed paths again.
