Willow on the Palace Wall (Lily ABO) - Chapter 8
008: Why Did You Act So Shamelessly Towards Me?
Su Ce looked at Xiao Chu’s fiery gaze and thought she must have misheard. “…What did you say?”
“Will you marry me, sister?” Xiao Chu knelt half-crouched at Su Ce’s feet, looking up at her with pleading eyes.
“I’m a Beta. How could I marry you?”
“Does sister not want me?” A misty film instantly covered Xiao Chu’s eyes. Su Ce found the situation amusing. It wasn’t a matter of “wanting” or “not wanting.”
An Omega marrying a Beta, and both of them women?
Such a transgressive act was unheard of, not just in the Great Yan Dynasty, but even among the uncivilized nomadic tribes with their fierce customs who paid no mind to societal norms.
Su Ce now truly believed Doctor Xi’s words that Xiao Chu was suffering from severe shock. If she hadn’t been so terrified, why would she be talking such nonsense?
“Don’t kneel there. Go rest on the bed. You’ve had your calming medicine. Get some good sleep.”
After saying this, Su Ce didn’t get tangled up with Xiao Chu anymore. She began to study the newly drawn map, contemplating whether to attack directly or continue to hold the line.
The wick of the long-burning candle on the table suddenly popped, and the flame shot up. Su Ce was about to get up and trim the wick when Xiao Chu, still kneeling at her feet, grabbed the corner of her robe.
“Sis… sister,” she began, her voice already a sob. Her face, as beautiful as a peach blossom, was streaked with tears. “If you look down on me, then… then why did you act so shamelessly towards me!”
She tugged down her collar, and in the particularly bright candlelight, the tender breast that Su Ce had inadvertently kneaded and rubbed was completely exposed.
The skin was as white and soft as milk, with a nipple like a cherry blossom petal. The sweet scent she found so enticing began to tease her nose again.
Realizing she had been staring at Xiao Chu’s breast, Su Ce quickly averted her gaze. She scrambled to her feet in a flustered mess, a sight that would be unbelievable to her soldiers. Their great general, who always remained calm even in the face of certain doom, had never behaved like this.
“Don’t go, sister!” Xiao Chu wasn’t about to let her off so easily. She hugged Su Ce’s leg and pressed her body close. “Don’t leave until you’ve explained yourself!”
“General, the grain has arrived, but the quartermaster seems to have…”
The soldier who had entered the tent to report couldn’t finish his sentence. He was stunned to see his normally stoic general, her face completely flushed, holding the beautiful Omega woman tightly in her arms. Judging by the woman’s disheveled clothes… he dared not look or think anymore, immediately bowing his head in apology.
“You… you wait outside the tent!”
Su Ce’s head throbbed. As soon as the soldier left, she let go of Xiao Chu. She had pulled up half of Xiao Chu’s clothes, but a bare, pale shoulder was still exposed.
The army camp was a place of extreme boredom. It wouldn’t even be half an hour before the news of her and the Omega woman frolicking in the tent would spread throughout the entire camp!
“Is sister angry?” Xiao Chu timidly looked at Su Ce. “Please don’t be angry, okay? Xiao Chu was being delusional, fantasizing about marrying a great general like you. Actually, if the general just lets me stay by your side and serve you, Xiao Chu…” Her tears began to fall again, and one hot drop landed on Su Ce’s arm. Su Ce was surprised by how scalding it felt.
“It was my fault. You’re right. I did act improperly towards you. A delicate Omega like you… do you truly want to marry me?” Su Ce asked seriously.
“I have already sworn a solemn oath that I will not marry anyone but the general in this life!”
Su Ce couldn’t help but smile. She assumed Xiao Chu was just saying nice things to please her, unaware that every single one of Xiao Chu’s words was the absolute truth.
“In that case, I will grant your wish!”
