A Aloof Beauty Becomes a Tiny Kitten / Transmigrated as the Disabled Tycoon’s Tiny Kitten - Chapter 11
Lin Xingmo did not possess a sense of shame, and a kitten was even less likely to have one.
Thus, he felt nothing as he struck this pose. Was it not a basic hygiene rule to clean one’s bottom after using the restroom? It was just that he currently had no hands.
Licking was out of the question, so he had to rely on someone else.
Fortunately, Xu Yi was quite perceptive. He froze for a moment, looking at the kitten’s raised backside. Recalling the cleaned floor drain, he asked, “Do you want me to wipe you?”
“Meow.”
The soft, milky cry sounded like a request. Under Xu Yi’s gaze, the kitten exerted itself further, sticking its furry little butt up even higher.
The sight of its effort made Xu Yi chuckle, completely charmed by the kitten’s adorable action. His “little treasure” was truly smart, well-behaved, clean-conscious, and exceptionally intelligent. Marveling at his luck, Xu Yi grabbed some tissues, dampened them with warm water, and gently cleaned the kitten.
Lin Xingmo felt a cool, damp sensation. Under the gentle wiping, the discomfort from the grime vanished, replaced by a clean, refreshing feeling. He instinctively coordinated with the boy’s movements, wiggling his body until he felt it was enough, then stepped away with satisfaction.
Xu Yi watched the kitten walk away as if nothing had happened and smiled. He flushed the tissue away, scooped up the kitten, and set it at the bathroom door. “I’m going to shower now. I’ll play with you in a bit.”
However, as soon as he stood up, the kitten leaped over the threshold and nimbly darted between his feet back into the bathroom. Since he was preparing to shower, Xu Yi was barefoot in slippers, with his pant legs rolled up from rinsing the tiles. The sensation of furry fur brushing against his shins sent an indescribable shiver through him.
He turned to see the kitten sitting under the showerhead, gazing up at it, then looking back at him. A faint trace of longing was visible in its round eyes. Xu Yi frowned, trying to interpret the intent.
“Do you want to take a bath?”
Xu Yi was amazed. Even though he had never raised a cat, he knew they were supposed to be afraid of water. He never imagined he would meet a kitten that actively sought a bath.
“Meow.”
The kitten called again, its soft voice making Xu Yi’s heart melt. His little treasure didn’t cry out often; every time it did, it was asking for something. He found himself more than willing to oblige. Who could dislike such a little elf?
But…
“No can do,” Xu Yi said. “You’re too small and it’s too cold. You’ll catch a cold if you bathe now.”
The kitten’s expression immediately scrunched into a frown of displeasure.
Does it really understand what I’m saying? Xu Yi wondered. He squatted down and used a finger to gently scratch the kitten’s chin.
The frowning kitten slowly squinted its eyes, actively tilting its head back to offer its chin for scratches. Feline instinct took over; Lin Xingmo found it incredibly comfortable, and a rhythmic purring sound began to emanate from his throat.
Still, the bath was a matter of principle. If he couldn’t wash now because of the cold, was he supposed to wait for winter to pass? He found the idea intolerable.
“How about tomorrow?” the boy coaxed gently. “Tomorrow at noon, when the sun is out, I’ll wash you. You won’t get sick that way.”
Tomorrow at noon? That was fine then. Lin Xingmo continued to squint his eyes, rightfully enjoying the chin scratches. The entire kitten radiated pleasure.
Xu Yi smiled. He picked the kitten up, and knowing its love for cleanliness, he carefully washed its paws before putting it back in the cardboard box in the bedroom. “Stay inside for now so your paws don’t get dirty again.”
Lin Xingmo, who had just placed his front paws on the edge of the box, hesitated upon hearing this and pulled them back. He sat at the bottom of the box and looked up at the boy.
“I’m going to shower. I’ll be right back.”
Xu Yi added some water to the cat bowl and left. Lin Xingmo stayed obediently in the box. Though he had only had his paws and bottom washed, he felt much better and began to lap at the water.
Not long after, Xu Yi returned. He was shivering in his long-sleeved pajamas and dove straight under the heavy cotton quilt, bundling himself up. It was only 8:00 PM, but in the dead of winter, nothing was more comfortable than shrinking into bed.
Once he warmed up, Xu Yi lifted the quilt slightly and looked at the kitten. “Little treasure, do you want to sleep on the bed? It’s warmer under the covers.”
The kitten looked at him, then looked away with a lack of interest, huddling deeper into the old clothes at the bottom of the box. Although he was constantly carried around, Lin Xingmo still preferred his own space when given the choice.
The boy pouted but let the quilt fall. He wasn’t in a hurry; it was only the kitten’s first day. He pulled out his textbooks to preview his lessons, and at 9:30 PM, after a reminder from his mother, he went to the restroom and turned off the lights. Before sleeping, he whispered a gentle “goodnight” that sounded exceptionally tender in the dark.
Lin Xingmo had already drifted into a deep sleep. It had been an incredibly fulfilling day, filled with things he had never imagined doing before. He expected to wake up in his own body next time, yet…
When he opened his eyes, the sky was just beginning to lighten, and he was still inside the cardboard box.
He felt something was wrong again. Is this really not a dream? If not, then what is it?
Before he could figure it out, he climbed out of the box and leaped to the floor. The boy was still sleeping. Lin Xingmo walked slowly out of the room. Just as he sat at the door and let out a tiny yawn, the sound of a turning key echoed, and Du Hanrong walked in with groceries.
She spotted the kitten sitting by her son’s door and paused for a second before pretending nothing was wrong. She went into the kitchen and put the buns and soy milk into the electric rice cooker to keep warm—a second-hand find she was quite proud of. It allowed her to leave for work at 7:00 AM while ensuring her son had a safe, warm breakfast without using the gas stove.
She began cleaning the house. It was 6:00 AM; she had an hour before she had to leave. The morning house was silent, and the loneliness was something even she, an adult, found hard to bear at times—let alone a child under ten.
She scrubbed the floor, occasionally stopping to rub her aching lower back. As she finally sat on the sofa chair to rest, she felt a gaze upon her. She turned to find the white kitten sitting nearby, watching her. When she looked, it tilted its head intelligently.
It was a beautiful kitten. Despite being a bit dirty, its fluffy white fur was undeniably cute. After her labor, the sight was quite healing.
“Why are you staring at me?” Du Hanrong put down her water cup and made a fierce face. “Go away, I have no food for you.”
The kitten wasn’t intimidated; it simply tilted its head and let out a “meow.”
Du Hanrong couldn’t resist and reached out to stroke its head. Lin Xingmo didn’t dodge, thinking that this tactic worked as well on adults as it did on children. Or perhaps it was because this was Xu Yi’s mother.
However, Ms. Du used far too much force. The kitten’s body couldn’t handle the pressure; its legs slipped, and it face-planted onto the chair.
Du Hanrong withdrew her hand awkwardly. Seeing the kitten climb back up without a fuss, she had to admit it was a very well-behaved cat.
At noon, as Xu Yi waited for her to return for lunch, she said, “Xiao Yi, I’ve ordered goat milk. Someone will start delivering it tomorrow.”
“Remember to boil it and drink it in the morning. I heard it’s good for your health.”
Xu Yi nodded, but then his mother added hesitantly, “That kitten… is it not even a month old yet? You can give it some too.”
Under his surprised gaze, she added, “Anyway… it’s so small, it won’t drink much.”
