After Attending School A, I Differentiated into an Omega - Chapter 18.1
The club owner knew Qin Fengyue. “Yo, haven’t seen you in a while.”
Qin Fengyue nodded and asked, “Is there a private rink?”
The owner said, “The small ones are all taken; only the big rink in the back for hundreds of people is left.”
Qin Fengyue bought the tickets and ushered everyone to the staging area.
The Sports Rep caught up, putting his arm around Qin Fengyue like a close brother. “Yue, let me show off a bit later, okay?”
Qin Fengyue: “?”
Several Alphas surrounded Qin Fengyue, grumbling in voices they thought were low: “Why didn’t you say earlier that Omegas were coming? I came out wearing my school uniform today! Dammit!”
“Do you even own a single piece of decent clothing, you brat?”
“My handsomeness cannot be obstructed by a mere piece of clothing!”
Qin Fengyue was crowded in; the scent of the Alphas’ pheromones around her made her feel uncomfortable all over. She unceremoniously slapped the Sports Rep’s hand away.
She turned around and spoke to the group of Omegas, whose faces had turned red from listening: “This bunch is thick-skinned and doesn’t have many merits. If you girls take a liking to any of them later, feel free to order them around as practice partners.”
A female Alpha leaned in. “Moon, you’re a real pal.”
Qin Fengyue nodded but warned her upon hearing that: “No getting handsy with others.”
“Tsk, who are you looking down on?”
“Are we that kind of people?”
Alphas were naturally like a bunch of hyperactive monkeys; now that Omegas were present, every one of them was incredibly lively.
Qin Fengyue slowly fell to the edge of the crowd. After looking over the group of Omegas, she seemed to space out, lost in thought.
Chu Yang and Jiang Zhao walked at the very back.
Chu Yang looked at Qin Fengyue teasingly and said to Jiang Zhao, “I see this expression once every few days. I wonder who she’s pining for?”
Jiang Zhao didn’t speak, following the crowd into the skating rink.
Qin Fengyue’s melancholy was only temporary. After warming up, she was the first to enter the rink, gliding two laps along the perimeter on her blades. For the final stretch, she took a run-up and used the momentum to stand straight on one leg, arms gracefully extended, slowly coming to a stop in front of Jiang Zhao and the others.
Today’s “peacock spreading its tail” (showing off)—check-in complete.
The Sports Rep grit his teeth. “Would it kill you to show off a little less for once?”
The Omegas, however, clenched their fists and looked at Qin Fengyue with slightly red faces.
Qin Fengyue shrugged: “Every man for himself.”
“Every man for himself,” indeed. The Alphas of Class 2 began chasing Qin Fengyue around; she wove through the crowds in the rink like a fish. Except for the Sports Rep and a few others, no one could even catch a corner of her clothes.
When she gracefully extended her arms, she was as elegant as a butterfly.
When she powerfully reached out, she was as swift as a falcon.
Jiang Zhao’s gaze followed her.
After playing around happily for a good while, they skated back on their blades to pick up the Omegas.
Alphas never lacked thick skin. Without Qin Fengyue saying more—it was the season of youth, and with being single on the line, time waited for no one.
In the end, only Jiang Zhao and Qin Fengyue were left at the side of the rink.
The rink was crowded, from eighty-year-old men to three-year-old toddlers; everyone who came would skate a bit to experience the feeling of racing across the ice.
Jiang Zhao voluntarily took on the role of photographer. She stood motionless at the edge, contributing a pile of photos where one couldn’t distinguish who was who in the crowd.
Qin Fengyue: “…Aren’t you afraid of getting beaten up for taking photos like this?”
Jiang Zhao looked up, her eyes seemingly saying: Do you see anyone who dares to beat me?
Qin Fengyue was completely convinced. She skated over to Jiang Zhao’s side. “Not going to play?”
“Don’t want to,” Jiang Zhao said.
Qin Fengyue looked down at her fully fastened skates and smiled. “It couldn’t be that you don’t know how, right?”
Jiang Zhao: “…”
Qin Fengyue’s eyes curved into crescents as she laughed. She brushed her ponytail to the side, revealing half of her neck. Jiang Zhao smelled a faint scent belonging to Qin Fengyue.
The shutter wasn’t pressed for a long time. In the lens, people came and went.
Qin Fengyue leaned down to study how Jiang Zhao was taking photos. Seeing no movement, she looked up and asked, “Why aren’t you taking them?”
Jiang Zhao’s throat moved. Her eyes were fixed on Qin Fengyue’s exposed gland. She paused, then spoke: “Are you this close to everyone?”
“What?”
“Moon!” Chu Yang approached breathlessly, followed by an Omega.
“I can’t do it anymore.”
Qin Fengyue stood up straight. “What’s wrong?”
Chu Yang rubbed his head and whispered, “This one came for you. While I was leading her, her eyes kept drifting toward you. Forget it.”
Qin Fengyue understood. She said to the girl, “Is it because Yang-zi isn’t leading well? Let me lead you instead.”
The girl gripped the hem of her clothes until the fabric was almost ruined, nodding with a red face.
Qin Fengyue took her hand and skated into the rink.
“If I were Moon, I would have been off the market long ago.” Chu Yang leaned against the railing.
Qin Fengyue coaxed the previously distracted Omega into smiles in just a few moves. Chu Yang truly admired her.
Chu Yang looked at Jiang Zhao. “Taking photos? Let me see.”
Jiang Zhao raised her hand higher, a hint of coldness in her eyes.
Chu Yang immediately took two steps back. “Sorry, I’ll stand further away from you.”
Only then did Jiang Zhao hand the phone to Chu Yang.
Chu Yang flipped through the photos.
Jiang Zhao leaned against the railing in a relaxed posture.
People began returning to the sidelines to rest. Two Omegas were pushing each other with red faces not far from Jiang Zhao; after a while, one of them came over to talk to her.
“Hi.”
Jiang Zhao lowered her head. “Hello.”
“Um, that… is it convenient to add you on WeChat?”
Jiang Zhao gave a gentle smile: “Sorry, I don’t have a phone.”
Omega: “…………”
Chu Yang: “…”
The Omega left with a flushed face.
Chu Yang was dumbfounded. “That Omega was so cute! How did you manage to reject her?”
Jiang Zhao: “I’m used to it.”
Chu Yang choked, admiring Jiang Zhao to no end. “Fine, from today on, you are the second person I admire!”
Jiang Zhao smiled. “If she had persisted a bit longer, maybe I would have given it.”
Chu Yang: “The lame excuse of not having a phone—no one would believe that. You rejected her so obviously; who would have the face to keep asking?”
Jiang Zhao: “There is one person.”
Chu Yang: “Which warrior? Tell me quickly!”
Jiang Zhao’s expression became indifferent again.
Chu Yang thought, Fine, she’s stopped talking again. But among the people he knew, when it came to asking for contact info, only Qin Fengyue was an invincible existence.
It couldn’t be…
Chu Yang scrutinized Jiang Zhao. After a while, he asked as if casually, “How are things with you and Moon?”
A cheer erupted from the crowd.
The Omega Qin Fengyue was leading had some skill; the two of them held hands, spinning and circling in the rink, drawing a round of applause and cheers.
Qin Fengyue’s smile was vibrant, and the Omega was shy and bashful. To outsiders, the Alpha and Omega with interlaced fingers looked like a young couple.
After skating two laps, the Class 2 people began to return.
Qin Fengyue led Xun Ran to the side and took a bottle of suppressant out of her small bag for her.
“Strawberry flavor, is that okay?”
Xun Ran thanked her softly: “You’re so amazing. I could barely keep up with your speed.”
Qin Fengyue tended to get carried away when praised. She had good stamina. She wiped a row of fine sweat from her forehead, prepared to go for another round, and asked casually: “Anyone else want to play? I’ll lead one more round.”
Several Omegas were immediately eager but felt a bit embarrassed. They weren’t very good, and with Xun Ran’s decent skating as a predecessor, they were worried about being compared.
“Lead me?” Jiang Zhao suddenly said.
Qin Fengyue looked back. “Why are you joining the fun?”
Several Alphas who were annoyed with Qin Fengyue began to jeer: “Yeah, Moon, lead Jiang Zhao!”
Qin Fengyue choked. Letting her dance with an Alpha on the ice?
The scene would be too painful to watch. Qin Fengyue: “With so many little Os around, you don’t pick them, you have to call me?”
Jiang Zhao raised an eyebrow: “Didn’t I say I don’t know how to skate? I’m afraid they won’t be steady; you’re the only one here with good technique and strength.”
Jiang Zhao spoke seriously; for a moment, Qin Fengyue couldn’t tell if she had other intentions.
“You looked quite good skating just now,” Jiang Zhao said.
The Sports Rep was drinking water. Hearing this, he asked in confusion, “Do I not skate well? I’m a decathlete, what about me?”
Jiang Zhao commented: “Not aesthetic enough.”
Sports Rep: “…”
Qin Fengyue rubbed her ear. She was about to get carried away again. She said, “Fine, I’ll lead you for a lap.”
