After Attending School A, I Differentiated into an Omega - Chapter 21.1
“Moon, how are you feeling?”
Qin Fengyue had an ice cream stick in her mouth, rolling it up and down as she moved her jaw.
“Moon?”
Qin Fengyue snapped out of it and met Bai Xue’s eyes. “What’s wrong?”
Bai Xue held up her popsicle: “You were daydreaming.”
Qin Fengyue brushed a strand of hair hanging by her ear, twisting it around her hand. “Just thinking about things.”
Leaving the infirmary building, several people noisily crowded Qin Fengyue toward the supermarket.
Jiang Da urged Qin Fengyue to treat them, but since the time and place weren’t right for a real meal, they settled for picking out popsicles or chocolates, planning to choose a proper place to feast during the next holiday.
Qin Dong and Fang Yi had already left.
Qin Dong had work to attend to; he left after seeing that Qin Fengyue seemed normal. Fang Yi, being an Omega, found it inconvenient to stay long; she said a few words, stuffed some snacks and drinks into Qin Fengyue’s hands, and left with Qin Dong.
Bai Xue continued the previous topic: “Moon, your mom is so beautiful!”
Qin Fengyue gave a hum. “Don’t let my dad hear you say that, or he might tear you apart.”
Qin Fengyue spat out the stick and went to the counter to pay.
The supermarket owner glanced at her and said: “It’s already been paid for.”
Qin Fengyue: “…”
Qin Fengyue tucked her phone back into her pocket and asked casually: “Who paid the bill?”
“Jiang Zhao, of course!” Bai Xue answered. “She went to the back to take a call while you were daydreaming.”
Qin Fengyue was slightly startled. When her shoulder was patted, she jolted, reacting quite strongly.
Chu Yang: “…Such a big reaction, pheromone rejection?”
Qin Fengyue pressed her forehead. “Something like that. Stand a bit further away while we talk.”
Chu Yang took out his phone to check the time. “I have class tonight, I have to go now. I’ll message you later.”
“By the way,” Chu Yang gave her a suggestive look, “lots of Omegas are asking me about you.”
Qin Fengyue’s eyelid twitched. “So what if they are? I’m stuck in Alpha High and can’t get out.”
Chu Yang: “It’s not like Alpha High never gives holidays.”
Qin Fengyue: “…”
“Don’t you still know how to climb walls? When are you coming out to say hello to everyone? Those Omegas say that after an Alpha differentiates, their looks skyrocket; they’re clamoring to see you.”
Qin Fengyue was evasive: “We’ll see.”
After seeing Chu Yang off, Qin Fengyue and the others went to a pavilion in the woods behind the supermarket.
With over ten minutes left before evening self-study, Qin Fengyue began to unwrap the gifts from Bai Xue and the others.
Before she could even start, the group began hooting and hollering.
“Why so excited?” Qin Fengyue looked at them.
Bai Xue wailed: “Quick, unwrap it, unwrap it!”
Jiang Da slapped the stone table, saying with a mischievous grin: “Moon, this is a tradition—welcome to the world of Alphas.”
“Alpha!”
“Alpha! Alpha!”
The sound of Alphas banging on the table attracted several curious passersby.
The Alphas of Alpha High were clearly experienced; one look and they knew what the group was doing. “Who differentiated?”
“Is your internet lagging? Everyone knows Qin Fengyue differentiated!”
“Holy crap! Differentiating in senior year? I thought it was a rumor! Who the hell differentiates in senior year!”
“Then this is a ‘little Alpha’! Damn, why do I find that a bit cute?!”
“Man, you saying that—”
“I just thought she was a bit short. Turns out it’s because she differentiated so late?”
“Shh, she’s looking at you!”
“She’s glaring at me! She’s glaring at me!” One female Alpha squeezed her companion and squealed excitedly in a low voice.
Qin Fengyue: “…”
Once the passersby were far away, Bai Xue said: “This is our custom. From seniors down to freshmen, it’s widely regarded as the mandatory path to becoming an Alpha!”
Qin Fengyue ‘tsked’. “Say something I can understand.”
Bai Xue: “Since our school doesn’t have a single Omega, as Alphas, we can’t graduate knowing absolutely nothing.”
Qin Fengyue suddenly realized what was in the box beneath her hands.
She swallowed. “You brought contraband in—”
“Shhh!”
“Shhh!”
Bai Xue and Jiang Da simultaneously gestured for her to be quiet.
“Don’t go attracting that old dog Chen Fang over here!”
Qin Fengyue: “…You guys dared to buy contraband and bring it in, yet you’re afraid of him?”
Seeing that Qin Fengyue was finally about to open it, Bai Xue quickly shoved Jiang Da. “Go keep watch.”
Jiang Da: “Sister Jiang is already guarding!”
Qin Fengyue looked up outside the pavilion. At the end of the bluestone path, Jiang Zhao had appeared out of nowhere, leaning against a ginkgo tree with her arms crossed. Her long hair hung behind her head, and her gaze seemed fixed elsewhere in a daze.
Sensing Qin Fengyue’s gaze, Jiang Zhao turned to look at her, then walked over and asked: “What is it?”
Qin Fengyue looked behind her. “We won’t get caught, will we? If we get caught doing this, it’ll be pretty embarrassing.”
A mysterious glint flashed in Jiang Zhao’s eyes. “If you’re scared, go back to the dorm to unwrap it.”
Jiang Da: “No way! I can’t get into the female Alpha dorms! How could I miss a moment like this?”
Chen Linyu raised her hand to speak: “Little Moon, how about I unwrap it for you?”
Qin Fengyue glanced at her and huffed: “Why are you still here?”
Chen Linyu: “…”
Qin Fengyue opened the shoebox-sized cardboard box as if opening Pandora’s box.
Jiang Da’s mouth dropped open slightly.
Inside the box, the first thing revealed was a magazine.
The cover was explicit, with a vast expanse of snow-white skin exposed to their eyes.
“Holy crap!”
Qin Fengyue slammed the lid shut.
Jiang Da: “Open it, open it!”
Bai Xue covered her eyes, peeking through the gaps in her fingers. “Why is it a male Omega?”
Jiang Da: “You don’t like male Omegas?”
Bai Xue: “Idiot, since when has Moon ever flirted with a guy!”
Jiang Da scratched his head: “I’ll find another one next time!”
Qin Fengyue stopped him. “Forget it.”
Jiang Da: “Male Omegas are okay too?”
Bai Xue gasped: “Moon—you—”
“Your tastes are a bit heavy.”
Bai Xue’s gaze quickly swept over Jiang Zhao.
Jiang Zhao’s long lashes were slightly lowered. She had a curl to her lips; at first glance, it seemed fine, but upon closer inspection, the smile was a bit chilling.
Bai Xue: “…”
Qin Fengyue crossly pulled out the magazine and slapped it against Jiang Da’s chest. “Male O or female O, I don’t need to look at these magazines.”
Jiang Da looked impressed: “True. Sister Yue must be battle-hardened! Not someone we virgin Alphas can compare to.”
Chen Linyu looked at her suggestively and leaned in: “So amazing, why don’t you teach me?”
Qin Fengyue simply raised the box to shove it against Chen Linyu’s face. “Stay away from me, or I’ll cut you.”
Chen Linyu wasn’t angry at being hit; instead, she looked at Qin Fengyue with interest.
Jiang Zhao: “The patrol is coming.”
The patrol was an Alpha organization in Alpha High that wore red armbands to check public hygiene. Besides checking hygiene, they also caught Alphas who broke rules, skipped class, or fought. The members were mainly sophomores.
Qin Fengyue stretched. “Then I’ll unwrap it when I get back—”
“What are you afraid of?” Chen Linyu said. “Are you afraid of a few sophomores?”
Qin Fengyue was never one to back down from a provocation. She crossed her arms and smiled: “Whether I’m afraid or not, is it any of your business?”
An Alpha’s pressure radiated—not from Chen Linyu, nor from Qin Fengyue.
Jiang Zhao rubbed her wrist and suddenly stepped between Qin Fengyue and Chen Linyu.
Her fingers were lean and slender. Her wrist passed by Qin Fengyue’s waist as she picked up the box. “What else is there? Let me see.”
Jiang Zhao’s body partially shielded Qin Fengyue. In a dominant and possessive posture, she forced Chen Linyu back two steps.
“You—”
Bai Xue grabbed her own philtrum.
The pressure caused by Jiang Zhao vanished in an instant. Before Qin Fengyue could look deeper into it, Jiang Zhao pulled away.
Everyone’s eyes landed on the perfume bottle in the box.
After reading the words on it, Bai Xue and Jiang Da both blushed.
It was a perfume with “additives.”
Compared to a magazine with an Omega model, this perfume was much more explicit.
Qin Fengyue’s ears turned slightly red: “Who the hell sent this!”
“Me,” Jiang Zhao said.
“Ah—” Bai Xue squealed softly; she was going to faint!
Qin Fengyue: “…”
“Spiked” perfume—the additives were synthetically cultivated pheromone scents designed to induce an Omega’s heat or enhance an Alpha’s pleasure.
It was the kind of thing friends who often “help themselves” would add to their shopping carts.
Apparently, there were versions specifically for Alphas or Omegas, sold only to adult and differentiated Alphas and Omegas.
Jiang Zhao…
Qin Fengyue commented: “You really are the flirtatious one.”
Jiang Da nodded: “My God, where did you buy it? Can I have a link to share?”
Jiang Zhao curled the corners of her mouth slightly. “Of course.”
Chen Linyu’s mouth hung open, looking at Jiang Zhao in surprise. Spiked perfume was like sexy lingerie; if a friend gave it, it was a joke, but between lovers, it was “playfulness.” You could kill her and she still wouldn’t believe Jiang Zhao gave this just as a gift for a good friend’s differentiation.
If this wasn’t a hint, what was it… That jerk Jiang Zhao was blatantly tricking the kid here.
Chen Linyu: “You’re giving this…”
Qin Fengyue punched Jiang Zhao lightly. “Your gift is the one that suits my heart, good sister!”
Chen Linyu shut her mouth. Fine, she really was heartless.
