After Being Clung to by a Gentle, Seductive Omega - Chapter 17
Those eyes were some distance away from the emergency exit.
Outside the door, Ji Congyan’s exclusive medical team filled the area, almost occupying half the hall. It could practically be called a sea of people.
Yet Ji Congyan still saw Bo Shuang at a glance.
Across the crowd, their gazes met from afar.
Ji Congyan subconsciously turned away the injured side of her face.
Even under the hospital’s deathly lighting, her side profile was still bright and beautiful.
She glanced over from the corner of her eye.
The evening gown on Bo Shuang’s body had already been replaced by Huaji’s patient gown. Her figure looked thin and fragile, and her complexion was poor, even paler than when she had been at the banquet earlier.
Her gentle yet sickly air almost seemed to merge with the hospital’s cold, silent corridor.
Ji Congyan’s heart felt as if it had been lightly tugged.
“Miss Bo, the doctors at the emergency center should have told you not to run around.”
“President Ji—”
“Who is your attending physician? They failed to remind and watch over their patient properly. I’ll deduct their salary later.”
“President Ji, I walked here by myself.”
After accepting the trauma treatment kit handed over by the doctor, Ji Congyan walked toward the exit without looking back, leaving only one sentence behind.
“Follow me. I’ll take you back to the emergency center.”
President Ji’s tone was far too natural.
In the hall, every member of the Ji family’s exclusive medical team secretly observed Bo Shuang, seemingly wondering about her relationship with President Ji.
Cen Sang had known Ji Congyan for so many years, and this was also her first time encountering such a situation. Her face was full of shock.
Ji Congyan just left with an Omega like that???
She had even used words like “I’ll take you,” words that somehow sounded domineering and a little ambiguous.
Having served as Ji Congyan’s assistant since childhood, Cen Sang keenly realized that Bo Shuang was definitely not ordinary to Ji Congyan.
As she was thinking, she noticed at the entrance of the hall that a doctor in a white coat was sneaking away.
Cen Sang had a bit of an impression of her. Hadn’t this person been beside Film Queen Bo earlier?
She hurried forward to stop her.
Then she saw the Huaji work badge hanging on the woman’s chest.
Sun Ru, female Omega.
—Deputy Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Bo Shuang followed Ji Congyan out of the hall in silence.
The Alpha in front of her faintly carried an Omega scent. A floral-fruity fragrance should have been fresh and refreshing, but to pregnant Bo Shuang, it smelled unbearably unpleasant.
Without showing it, she moved farther away from Ji Congyan.
Her stomach faintly began churning with nausea again.
There was some distance between the obstetrics building and the emergency center. Between them lay a quiet garden. On a summer night, the cicadas never stopped singing, and the breeze made their shadows and clothing hems sway.
Ji Congyan walked ahead. Noticing that the shadow behind her had slowed, she also slowed her pace without showing it.
“Has the R6 still not been fully diluted?”
Bo Shuang had not expected Ji Congyan to speak first. She paused. “There’s still some residue left.”
“Does Miss Bo need my Alpha pheromones?”
Ji Congyan raised her head and looked at the moon.
Her fingertips lifted a small corner of the suppressant patch on the back of her neck. She did not lift it all the way to her gland, so the Alpha pheromones inside her were still sealed well, not leaking out in the slightest.
Without an Alpha’s mark, R6 would metabolize very slowly in the body. It would also affect bodily functions to a certain extent, and the gland would feel somewhat uncomfortable.
Of course, Ji Congyan did not mean that she wanted to mark her.
She and Bo Shuang had a very high pheromone compatibility rate. Releasing a little could ease Bo Shuang’s physical discomfort.
Bo Shuang knew what she meant.
At her core, Ji Congyan was a very good person.
But she was also an Alpha with a family.
Bo Shuang lightly shook her head. “President Ji, there is a distinction between Alpha and Omega. It would be better not to let others misunderstand.”
Looking at the moon, Ji Congyan had not expected the answer she waited for to be a refusal. She snorted coldly.
“You don’t know what’s good for you.”
Her steps quickened, and she no longer deliberately waited for the Omega behind her.
They returned to the emergency center in silence.
Ji Congyan walked to the mirror to treat the injury on her face.
Si Qiu’s punch had been delivered with full force. The side of Ji Congyan’s face was swollen high, red and ridiculous.
For the next while, she would probably have to wear a mask to work.
When she fought with that person in the stairwell, the area behind her ear seemed to have been scratched too.
She turned her head, but no matter how hard she tried, she could not see behind her ear.
“Here, President Ji.”
Bo Shuang passed behind her.
Ji Congyan looked up at her. Just then, her phone rang. She sat down on the sofa and tapped the trauma treatment kit on the table.
“Please, Miss Bo.”
After saying that, she answered Cen Sang’s call.
Bo Shuang tore open the cotton swab packaging and dipped it into the medicine.
Ji Congyan had swept her hair to one side, revealing the line of her ear and neck on that side. On her fair, lustrous skin, large patches of blue and purple had appeared.
The swollen side of her face was not on this side.
Bo Shuang lowered her eyes and bent down, carefully pressing the medicine behind Ji Congyan’s ear. The light brown liquid gently brushed over the wound.
A cool sensation spread behind her ear, and her neck also felt a little itchy, accompanied by a pleasant fragrance lingering around her.
Ji Congyan glanced over, and her brows instantly furrowed.
“Too close. Move farther away. Pick up your hair.”
When Bo Shuang bent down, she had not noticed that her long hair had fallen against Ji Congyan’s neck.
“President Ji, the person who was about to undergo an abortion in the B1 backup operating room was Film Queen Bo. I found that Film Queen Bo was admitted some time ago and diagnosed with pregnancy. As of today, she is nine weeks and four days pregnant.”
Bo Shuang was pregnant.
Nine weeks and four days.
When calculated, the timing matched perfectly with the night Bo Shuang had entered the presidential suite.
Bo Shuang was pregnant.
With her child.
After analyzing this conclusion, Ji Congyan’s mind went blank in an instant.
It was as if nothing could fit inside. Even when Bo Shuang froze behind her and the hair fallen against her neck was not picked up for a long time, she did not notice.
Her mind turned slowly and sluggishly.
She was at a loss, just like that day when she had torn off an Omega’s clothing while sober.
But the helplessness now was a hundred times worse than that day.
Her mind turned stiffly for a long while. The air was so quiet that only Cen Sang’s repeated “Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?” could be heard. The call disconnected with a long beep, and Ji Congyan finally woke from her daze.
No longer caring about hiding the swelling on her face, she turned to look at Bo Shuang. Her gaze moved to the other woman’s lower abdomen.
Shocked, delighted, and doubtful all at once, her voice faintly trembled.
“My… child?”
Bo Shuang looked back at her. “No.”
Her tone was gentle, but in Ji Congyan’s ears, it sounded unusually cruel.
It was as if, in just a few words, she had experienced climbing to a height and then falling heavily. Her emotions rose and plunged violently.
Eldest Miss Ji stared straight at her. “Are you certain it isn’t mine?”
Bo Shuang said, “It isn’t.”
Ji Congyan’s face chilled, as if a layer of ice had instantly sealed over her bright features.
She called Cen Sang.
“Cen Sang, take Miss Bo’s blood sample from her hospitalization period and run a test.”
“Okay. May I ask what you want tested?”
Ji Congyan looked at Bo Shuang and said each word clearly.
“Test whether the child in her womb is mine after all.”
“Ah!?”
Cen Sang was shocked on the other end of the line, but Ji Congyan did not give her time to react and directly hung up.
Bo Shuang’s body had gone completely stiff. She instinctively retreated and protected her lower abdomen. Ji Congyan pressed forward step by step, still keeping some distance from her.
Yet the two shadows cast by the side lamp drew infinitely close.
“Miss Bo, I’ll give you one more chance. Is the child in your womb mine or not?”
The room in the emergency center was large, but no matter how large it was, there was still a limit.
Bo Shuang retreated until she had nowhere left to go, her back already pressed against the corner of the wall.
The air in the corner did not circulate. She once again smelled the unfamiliar Omega fragrance carried by Ji Congyan.
Her stomach instantly churned violently with nausea. She covered her mouth and dry-heaved once, her eyes reddening. Ji Congyan froze in place and said dryly, “Morning sickness?”
She took one cautious step forward while quickly typing a message to Cen Sang.
There had originally only been a small amount of unfamiliar Omega scent, but as Ji Congyan drew closer, the smell gradually grew stronger. Bo Shuang’s stomach churned even more fiercely.
Enduring the discomfort, she raised her head. Her reddened eyes made one’s heart ache, and her voice was gentle.
“President Ji makes me feel sick.”
The air froze.
Hearing words no one had ever dared say to her in this lifetime, Ji Congyan looked at Bo Shuang in disbelief.
Instead of getting angry, she smiled, though the smile did not reach her eyes.
“I make you sick? I make you sick, yet after you were drugged with R6, you specifically ran to my presidential suite and let me mark you? That’s not how words should be said, is it? Or is it that Miss Bo failed in secretly loving me and is deliberately turning things around?”
Sadness appeared in Bo Shuang’s eyes.
“Ji Congyan, it’s true that I have favorable feelings for you. But your fiancée Omega is still lying in the obstetrics operating room, and the life or death of the fetus in her womb is unknown. Your daughter is still waiting for you to go home.”
“Ji Congyan, go back. I’ll pretend you never asked the previous question. My child is only my child. Whether she lives or dies, whether I abort her or keep her, none of it has anything to do with you.”
A tear fell from the corner of the beauty’s reddened eye. In a gentle voice, she advised her.
“Don’t let your family down again.”
