After Breaking Up with the Scumbag Girl, I Became an Alpha [Entertainment Circle] (GL) - Chapter 19
Xu Wuhuan’s hand had healed significantly. Lately, everyone in Zero was incredibly busy because their concert was scheduled for the following week—this was also Xu Wuhuan’s first concert as an official member. It was a stepping stone; once they cleared it, the future would be bright. Therefore, Lin Yu strictly required them to intensify their training.
In the month leading up to the concert, the members of Zero practically lived in the dance studio. Once her hand was mostly better, Xu Wuhuan trained relentlessly alongside them.
Under the daily pressure of high-intensity work, Zhong Yan no longer had the energy to pick fights, and Xu Wuhuan was equally exhausted. Their relationship reached a state of eerie harmony.
During a break, Xu Wuhuan received a call from Lu Yu. Usually, when Lu Yu called, it meant something important, so Xu Wuhuan stepped into a secluded area.
“What’s the matter?” Xu Wuhuan asked.
“CEO Xu! While checking the company books a few days ago, I discovered a large-scale fund transfer!” Lu Yu’s voice sounded urgent.
Xu Wuhuan frowned. “Be specific.”
“I tracked the source; it belongs to Gu Chang’an’s department. But the strange thing is, I can’t find the source of the profit for this transfer.”
Xu Wuhuan’s face darkened, her brow reflecting the cold authority of someone who had held power for years. She said solemnly, “Don’t alert the target. Investigate Gu Chang’an thoroughly. I want to see what he’s up to now!”
“Understood!”
After hanging up, Xu Wuhuan adjusted her expression and returned to the dance studio.
Zhong Yan was sprawled on the floor while Jiang Cha massaged her waist. Zhong Yan’s face showed a hint of pain. It was normal—no glory in this world comes from nothing; the flip side of fame is endless fatigue and pain.
Zhong Yan was known as the “All-rounder ACE,” a title built on day after day of training, where grueling labor paved the way for a shining future. Years of high-intensity training had left her with chronic back problems.
Feeling a pang of pity, Xu Wuhuan walked softly behind Jiang Cha, patted her back, and pointed to herself, indicating she would take over. Jiang Cha understood, stood up, and let Xu Wuhuan take her place.
Zhong Yan had just trained for several hours straight and was dog-tired; she didn’t even notice the switch. Xu Wuhuan’s massage technique was excellent. Zhong Yan narrowed her eyes in comfort and hummed softly. Xu Wuhuan remained silent, not wanting to break the atmosphere.
It wasn’t until they were about to start training again that Zhong Yan spoke lazily, “That’s enough, Captain. You don’t have to press anymore. I didn’t know your technique had become so good?”
“Is that so? As long as you’re comfortable,” Xu Wuhuan’s voice came from behind.
Zhong Yan whipped her head around. “D*mn, it’s you.”
Xu Wuhuan smiled. “Is it that strange?”
Zhong Yan hesitated for a few seconds before saying awkwardly, “No. I’m going to practice.”
With that, Zhong Yan brushed past her. She felt strange lately; her emotions were constantly being swayed by Xu Wuhuan without her even realizing it. It was baffling.
What is wrong with me? Zhong Yan, you can’t be moved by this woman. You were a fool once; do you want to be a fool a second time?
It’s not like you don’t know what kind of person she is—a pathological liar, manipulative, and devoid of guilt. Don’t fall for it again.
But what if she really has repented? Will I go soft?
Zhong Yan was nearly driven crazy by these thoughts.
The concert arrived as scheduled. The venue was packed, and the cheers from the fans grew louder and louder. Every concert needs a “mood maker,” and it was usually Zhong Yan’s job to ignite the crowd. Wearing a black tank top under a black suit with matching trousers and a high ponytail, the members of Zero slowly rose on the lift as the lights hit them.
Zhong Yan took the mic and shouted the team slogan with the power of a rapper: “Zero is End!!”
The crowd erupted instantly, with screams rising from every corner. The four women walked toward the stage like dominating queens. The atmosphere remained electric throughout. Chu Yun’s unique vocals, Jiang Cha’s visuals, Xu Wuhuan’s dance, and Zhong Yan’s rap acted like catalysts, pushing the crowd to one climax after another.
Xu Wuhuan had never truly understood the stage before. Years ago, she entered the industry for Zhong Yan, participated in dance shows, and performed often, but her heart had always remained flat. Until this concert. The fans’ screams, the intensity of the lights, and the chemistry between teammates finally set her heart ablaze. The deep allure of the stage was intoxicating.
On stage, Zhong Yan was a different person—her gaze was bold and her dance was fierce. She was surrounded by the adoration of her fans. Xu Wuhuan was mesmerized by Zhong Yan’s glowing presence.
Next was the song “Shut Up.” It was a song about telling a “scummy man” to shut his sweet-talking mouth. It wasn’t widely sung because it was incredibly difficult to learn.
When it was time for the rap, Zhong Yan stood in the center position (C-position), having changed into an off-the-shoulder white top and a black miniskirt. Zhong Yan’s normal voice was soft, but when she rapped, her voice dropped slightly—clear, yet powerful.
“Your sweet talk is always so promiscuous… I watch you turn and throw yourself to another woman… You say ‘Baby, I love you forever’… it is so fake, fake… Now, please shut up… That mouth of yours opens to spit out monsters… I hate you so much, so get out…”
Zhong Yan performed with deep emotion, bringing the song’s arrogance to life. This was the first time Xu Wuhuan had heard her rap at such close range. It was undeniably charming. Xu Wuhuan seemed possessed, her eyes never leaving Zhong Yan while she danced.
She was too dazzling.
Near the end of the concert, each member had a solo performance. As expected, Xu Wuhuan’s was a dance. However, today she wasn’t solo; the choreography required a male partner.
Zhong Yan and the others watched from backstage. Xu Wuhuan’s dance today was very sultry, with a lot of physical contact with the male partner. It was devastatingly sexy.
Jiang Cha and Chu Yun kept teasing from behind. “Hey, Zhong Yan, don’t you think Xu Wuhuan’s dance today is amazing?” Chu Yun winked.
She and Jiang Cha had long suspected that the relationship between the two was not simple. From Xu Wuhuan’s meticulous care for Zhong Yan to the doting look in her eyes that nearly overflowed, the ambiguity was too much to ignore.
“Amazing my a**!” Zhong Yan snapped back like a machine gun. Watching Xu Wuhuan and that man standing so close together, an nameless fire burned in her heart. “They’re standing so close, isn’t that tacky?!”
Jiang Cha and Chu Yun exchanged a look of amusement. Jiang Cha replied, “Tacky? Not at all. Didn’t you see how excited the fans are?”
Zhong Yan turned her head; sure enough, people were screaming. Her face turned even more sour. Don’t these people know how to appreciate art? Getting excited over a dance like this… no taste!!
She turned her eyes back to the stage, grit her teeth. What kind of guy is he? Where is he touching? And Xu Wuhuan, does she even know the meaning of the word ‘shame’? Doesn’t she know about boundaries between men and women?
Zhong Yan’s knuckles cracked, and Chu Yun looked at her in confusion. Zhong Yan immediately realized her loss of composure and said nonchalantly, “I’m a bit tired, just loosening up my hands.”
Just as the words left her mouth, a sudden commotion broke out. Zhong Yan looked up to see Xu Wuhuan falling off the lift. The lift was about a meter high—the consequences of such a fall were serious.
Zhong Yan’s head buzzed. Without a second thought, she bolted onto the stage. While Jiang Cha, Chu Yun, and the staff calmed the fans, the organizers and Lin Yu also rushed onto the stage.
Xu Wuhuan lay on the ground in the dark. It was unclear where she was hurt. She was unconscious, her brow still tightly knit in apparent pain. Zhong Yan knelt beside her, patting her face, her voice trembling with a panic she didn’t even notice herself. “Xu Wuhuan! Xu Wuhuan! What’s wrong? Wake up!”
There was no response. Lin Yu caught up and said calmly, “Zhong Yan, take her to the hospital quickly. Don’t let the public see. I’ll handle things here. Go, now!”
Zhong Yan nodded frantically. “Okay.”
She scooped Xu Wuhuan up in her arms and ran outside.
Zhong Yan drove frantically to the hospital. On the way, she smelled that intense rose scent again, but her mind was elsewhere, and she had no time to worry about where it came from. After an hour of waiting, the doctor finally came out.
“Doctor, how is she? Is she still alive?” Zhong Yan hurried forward.
The doctor took off his mask and asked, “Are you her lover?”
Zhong Yan froze. “I’m not…”
Before she could finish, the doctor launched into a lecture. “Are you Alphas all so irresponsible? Didn’t you know your girlfriend has been taking suppressants for so long? Taking large amounts of suppressants is extremely harmful to an Omega’s body. Do you have any common sense?!”
Zhong Yan forgot to “explain” that she wasn’t an Alpha; her attention was entirely on the latter part of the sentence. Her eyes widened in disbelief. “Doctor, what did you say? She… she’s an Omega?”
The doctor glared at her. “What else? I don’t know how you act as a girlfriend! In short, your lover has been taking suppressants to block her estrus for a long time, leading to extreme physical and mental disorder. She needs proper recovery.”
Seeing Zhong Yan’s dazed look, the doctor raised his voice, “Do you hear me?!”
“Ah.” Zhong Yan nodded blankly. “I understand.”
Zhong Yan hadn’t processed the news that Xu Wuhuan was an Omega. Her head was a mess, and she felt a bit stunned.
Xu Wuhuan is an Omega! You’ve got to be kidding me! Wasn’t she an Alpha?
What happened? Did she also differentiate and then, like me, use suppressants to hide her pheromones?
Zhong Yan suddenly thought of the thick rose-scented pheromones in the car and the moans she heard from Xu Wuhuan in the bathroom that night. Every sign pointed to the fact that Xu Wuhuan was an Omega.
Zhong Yan found it surreal, but after the shock, she started thinking about something else.
For someone as proud as Xu Wuhuan to become an Omega… can she even accept it?
