Summary
Synopsis:
Shi Xiu had been married to Shang Jinyue for seven years, and for seven years, Shi Xiu had also been serving Shang Jinyue one-sidedly.
Shi Xiu understood more and more clearly that Shang Jinyue loved someone else. They had only gotten married because Shang Jinyue’s grandmother liked her.
That day, Shi Xiu finally mustered the courage to hand Shang Jinyue a divorce application.
Because she stepped into the elevator with her left foot, she was reborn.
She was reborn back to the first day of senior year, the day she pestered Shang Jinyue and insisted on becoming her desk mate.
Shi Xiu: I would’ve been better off leaving the marriage with nothing…
.
The first thing Shi Xiu did after being reborn was cut off her past ties with Shang Jinyue, sling her drawing board over her back, and head to the studio.
But for some reason, something seemed to have gone wrong with Shang Jinyue. Once Shi Xiu stopped paying attention to her, she instead started rushing to get close to Shi Xiu.
She bought medicine for Shi Xiu and applied it for her; waited for hours in the freezing wind just to tutor Shi Xiu; went deep into the mountains to look for pigments, all because Shi Xiu once said she liked them…
Everyone sighed with emotion, saying that the cold and unfeeling Miss Shang had finally made a stone bloom, and that Shi Xiu was definitely moved.
But one night, in a deep alley, there came the crisp sound of a slap.
Shi Xiu leaned against the wall, dressed in a thin blue-green shirt. Under the moonlight, she looked lean, dazzling, and bright. Her words were gentle yet cruel: “President Shang, if I remember correctly, we’re already divorced.”
Shang Jinyue’s expression did not change. On her cold face was the red mark Shi Xiu had given her. “Why didn’t you use more force?”
She had traveled thousands of miles just to “run into” Shi Xiu by chance.
Now that she had seen her, whatever Shi Xiu gave her, she would accept it as sweet.
.
One day after being reborn, Shi Xiu had a dream.
In the dream, it seemed to be something from her previous life. Because of the elevator accident, she had died horribly.
Amid the chaos, there was someone who was not afraid of or disgusted by the state she was in. That person carefully helped clean her up, wiped the blood from her face, and set her broken bones back into place.
The morgue was so cold it seeped into the bones. That person seemed to have stayed by her side for days and nights, all the way until the twenty-first day after her death, when her soul scattered.
“Your divorce agreement is full of loopholes and has no legal validity, so you are still my wife.”
Shang Jinyue’s long fingers landed lightly, stroking Shi Xiu’s deathly pale face inch by inch. In her black, ruthless eyes was a tenderness vast enough to drown in. “In the next life too.”
Highlights:
- Shang Jinyue does not love someone else. There is a misunderstanding involved. The two of them are always 1v1, and the misunderstanding will be resolved later.
- The early part has campus dog-training; the later part has adult-society dog-training and redacted business, with neither neglected. An extremely melodramatic wife-chasing crematorium.
