After I Became A Scumbag Alpha, the Female Lead Omega and I Both Fell Hard (Transmigration Into A Novel) - Chapter 4
Ruan Tang was diagnosed with both post-traumatic stress disorder—PTSD—and a pheromone disorder. The doctor prescribed medication and instructed her to return home and rest properly.
On the way home, she huddled beside the car door, staring blankly out the window. Song Chenxi was deeply worried about her.
“Ruan Tang?”
The moment Ruan Tang heard Song Chenxi’s voice, she began trembling.
Her head lowered little by little, and her complexion grew increasingly awful.
Seeing her like this, Song Chenxi swallowed the words she had intended to say.
When the driver stopped the car outside the house, Ruan Tang looked terribly uncomfortable. Nevertheless, she swiftly climbed out, entered the main house ahead of Song Chenxi, and knelt beside the entrance.
Song Chenxi hurriedly crouched down to help her up.
Ruan Tang took out a pair of slippers, preparing to put them on Song Chenxi’s feet.
“Ruan Tang, I can change my own shoes!”
Song Chenxi’s voice rose slightly, frightening Ruan Tang so badly that her hands began to shake.
Whenever Ruan Tang knelt and changed her shoes for her in the past, the original Song Chenxi would seize her chin and ask whether she was unwilling to serve her.
Every time Ruan Tang shook her head and said that was not the case, the original Song Chenxi would tell her she no longer needed to change them—then kick her hard.
“No.” Song Chenxi bit her lip and lowered her voice. “I wasn’t trying to scold you. Please don’t be afraid.”
Before Song Chenxi could finish speaking, Ruan Tang was already mumbling another incoherent apology.
Song Chenxi cursed the original owner in her mind yet again. Then she helped Ruan Tang stand and said gently, “You must be exhausted. Go and rest for a while.”
Song Chenxi remembered what Pei Fei had told her.
She should indeed let Ruan Tang go—but definitely not now.
Ruan Tang had developed a trauma disorder after enduring long-term abuse, while her pheromone disorder was also seriously affecting her health.
Letting her go now would be no different from abandoning her at her most vulnerable and leaving her to fend for herself.
Song Chenxi could not do that. No decent human being could.
She was a doctor.
She had to help Ruan Tang recover.
Only after Ruan Tang regained her health could Song Chenxi allow her to leave without hesitation or worry.
After thinking it through, Song Chenxi released a deep sigh, closed the door, and entered the house.
Before long, Ruan Tang came trotting down the stairs. Her delicate face was flushed as though it had been steamed by the heat.
She kept her head lowered, all her hair hanging in front of her and exposing the obvious protrusion at the back of her neck.
The gland was delicate and rounded, smooth and full.
“Master, the bathwater is ready.”
Ruan Tang’s words pulled Song Chenxi out of her thoughts. She responded with a quiet “Mm” and watched as Ruan Tang turned around.
The girl wore a pair of pink slippers. Their soles were wet and slippery, causing her to lose her footing and tilt slightly to the side.
Beside her were a glass railing and marble steps. If she fell, she would probably scrape herself badly.
Song Chenxi reacted quickly, grasping Ruan Tang’s wrist and pulling her into her arms.
“Careful,” she said softly.
Ruan Tang froze briefly.
“Th-Thank you, Master.”
Song Chenxi entered the bathroom, which was shrouded in a thin mist, feeling somewhat dazed.
Ruan Tang approached her carrying a fresh set of clothes.
“Master, I’ll serve you while you bathe.”
Song Chenxi blinked rapidly, unable to understand exactly how Ruan Tang intended to “serve” her.
Her gaze darted toward the change of clothes in Ruan Tang’s hands, and her face instantly turned red.
Sheer leopard-print lace underwear…
What was this?
She lowered her head and glanced at her chest.
What difference was there between wearing something like that and wearing nothing at all?
“Um… could you get me something else?” Song Chenxi pointed at the underwear and smiled awkwardly.
Ruan Tang nodded and prepared to leave.
Song Chenxi quickly stepped forward and stopped her.
“I’ll get it myself. You should rest.”
The second floor contained three rooms: a master bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a study that also had its own bathroom, and a walk-in wardrobe.
Looking at the dazzling array of the original Song Chenxi’s clothes, jewelry, handbags, and shoes gave Song Chenxi a headache.
None of these matched her style!
She selected a pair of underwear that at least seemed to cover a little more and returned to the bathroom.
The pink slippers had been placed neatly beside the door. A slender figure was sitting inside the oval bathtub.
Uh… Did I take too long, so Ruan Tang decided to bathe first?
That was perfectly fine.
Song Chenxi was about to withdraw from the bathroom when the water in the bathtub suddenly began to slosh.
Ruan Tang turned around and fearfully looked at the woman lingering in the doorway.
“Master, I’m ready.”
Song Chenxi looked at Ruan Tang’s damp black hair and weak, lifeless eyes, then swallowed against her dry throat.
She looked like a broken doll.
The novel’s first chapter had stated that there was only one reason the original Song Chenxi had taken an interest in Ruan Tang—she was beautiful.
Her black hair and pale skin, combined with a face that was both innocent and seductive and her naturally cool, aloof air, made Alphas dream of discovering what she tasted like.
Song Chenxi shook her head forcefully, refusing to fall into the trap of desire.
She stepped backward out of the bathroom, smiled kindly, and nodded repeatedly.
“You go ahead and bathe. I’ll wait outside.”
Ruan Tang, who had appeared listless moments earlier, immediately rose from the bathtub.
She clasped both hands in front of her chest. Water streamed down her body, falling back into the tub and scattering tiny splashes across its surface.
“No. I’m here to serve you.”
Ruan Tang lowered her eyes as though she were about to cry.
She swept all the black hair hanging in front of her over her back. Beneath the light, her slender figure appeared an unhealthy, deathly white.
So that was what Ruan Tang meant by “serving” her.
Song Chenxi hurriedly covered her eyes with one hand and silently repeated, I must not look at anything improper, twice. She then closed the door.
“I truly don’t need you to do that. Take your bath first. I’ll be right outside, so call me if you need anything.”
After hearing this, Ruan Tang remained standing in the bathtub for a long time.
In truth, she did not want to do such things—especially while bathing.
Whenever she committed one of her so-called “mistakes,” she would occasionally be locked inside the bathroom. No matter how loudly she cried or how desperately she screamed, no one would ever come to save her.
When facing an Alpha, her only options had always been to flatter, please, and obey.
Memories of the past surged toward Ruan Tang like a monstrous flood and swallowed her whole. Her unease intensified, and she sank her entire body beneath the water.
She did not believe that the Alpha would be kind enough to spare her so easily.
*
After finishing her bath, Song Chenxi awkwardly put on her underwear and pajamas. She entered the bedroom while drying her hair.
Good grief. After everything that had happened today, she was exhausted.
The bed was enormous. The sheets and duvet had been spread out neatly, and the fabric carried the sun-warmed scent of freshly laundered bedding. It felt wonderfully comfortable.
Song Chenxi secretly rejoiced.
This house felt more like a hotel than any hotel she had ever stayed in.
Spreading her arms wide, Song Chenxi flopped facedown onto the bed like a starfish.
She buried her face in the bedding and rubbed against it aimlessly. A moment later, she turned her head and opened her eyes—only to see Ruan Tang kneeling on the floor.
Was this some ancient feudal society?
Why did she kneel at the slightest opportunity?
Ruan Tang forced herself to keep her back straight, her eyes lowered submissively. She looked exceedingly obedient.
Song Chenxi froze, assuming that Ruan Tang had something to tell her. She sat up and straightened the front of her pajamas.
“The floor is cold. Come and sit on the bed.”
Ruan Tang did not raise her head.
“Master, this… isn’t my bed.”
Song Chenxi assumed Ruan Tang did not want to sit beside her, so she followed her lead.
“Then you can return to your room and get some proper rest.”
After speaking, she climbed off the bed and moved to help Ruan Tang stand.
Being called “Master” and constantly knelt to was far more than Song Chenxi could bear.
Ruan Tang obediently stood. Her hands trembled nervously as she whispered, “I-I’m fine.”
Song Chenxi could not bear to see her like this.
“You really don’t have to call me Master.” She laughed dryly twice. “Would you like me to take you back to your room?”
At the second half of that sentence, Ruan Tang’s eyes abruptly widened in extreme fear. Her trembling hands tightly clutched the edges of her clothes as she shook her head repeatedly.
Her reaction perfectly matched the symptoms of a PTSD episode.
Song Chenxi quickly released her and stopped touching her. She retreated two steps and coaxed her gently.
“Ruan Tang, don’t be afraid. I only want to walk you back to your room. I won’t hurt you. Look—I’m standing this far away from you.”
Ruan Tang did not dare raise her head.
A moment later, her lips trembled, and tears began falling from her eyes one after another.
“Are you… still unwilling to stay in your room tonight?” Ruan Tang asked tearfully.
Song Chenxi did not understand.
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“Are you… still going there tonight?”
“Where?”
“My… my room.”
Song Chenxi was about to continue questioning her when she suddenly remembered that, when she had first transmigrated, the original Song Chenxi had been doing unspeakable things to Ruan Tang in the basement.
There was only one bedroom on the entire second floor, and its bed held only one pillow.
Aside from a maid’s room cluttered with miscellaneous items, there were no other bedrooms on the first floor.
Which meant…
The room Ruan Tang referred to as hers was the basement filled with instruments of torture.
“All right. I’ll go prepare now.”
Ruan Tang’s face instantly fell, filling with the despair of someone preparing to march toward her death.
“No, that isn’t what I meant!” Song Chenxi immediately denied it. “How about… you sleep here?”
