After Rebirth, I Ended Up with My Idol [Entertainment Circle] - Chapter 11
In her previous life, An Rong had never had any friction with Wang Yunshui. However, since her rebirth, for reasons unknown, she seemed to have become a target of Wang Yunshui’s hostility. Yesterday it was eye-rolling in the dance studio; today it was snide remarks in the makeup room.
Is this woman sick? Even with An Rong’s good temper, she felt incredibly uncomfortable, especially since the person was Wang Yunshui.
Did something go wrong in the timeline?
An Rong frowned deeply, glancing sideways at Wang Yunshui. Just as she was about to speak, Xu Xiaoye squeezed her hand and said in an icy tone, “Heroes don’t ask about origins. I recall that TS’s recruitment standards don’t mention anything about background. In today’s society, you should watch what you say.”
Wang Yunshui’s face changed, and she glared at Xu Xiaoye with a vicious expression. But for some reason, she didn’t snap back with an insult. Her gaze drifted over to An Rong, and she snorted, “An ugly duckling hiding in a flock of swans won’t become a swan. If you should be in school, go to school; if you should be working, go work. Stop dreaming of things you don’t belong in.”
This woman was being utterly inexplicable. In the last life, she was just high-maintenance; why was she biting the moment they met in this life?
An Rong didn’t understand. Had she overlooked a detail?
If these words had been said to the An Rong of the previous life, she might have actually broken down and doubted herself. Being worn down physically and mentally while falling behind the group’s progress, such a blow could have made her quit.
So, was Wang Yunshui intentionally saying this to provoke her into leaving?
But to the An Rong of this life, these words were mere child’s play. she didn’t care at all about this kindergarten-level bickering.
Thus, An Rong calmly moved her gaze away from Wang Yunshui. With a neutral expression, she said to Xu Xiaoye, “Let’s go.”
She acted as if the words hadn’t affected her at all.
Xu Xiaoye’s expression remained cold and stern as she led An Rong out of the makeup room by the hand.
After leaving, Xu Xiaoye’s expression remained sour.
An Rong carefully analyzed the situation and decided to clear the air first, confessing, “I’ve never done anything to offend her.”
This was true. Even after they formed the group in her previous life, while she and Wang Yunshui disliked each other, they rarely spoke a word. In this life, nothing had happened yet, so why had Wang Yunshui started looking down on her?
Xu Xiaoye let go of her hand and gave a hum. Her brow was still slightly furrowed; she seemed distracted, as if lost in thought. Outside was the long, bright corridor, and their shadows reflected on the frosted glass walls.
An Rong stole a glance at Xu Xiaoye’s profile in the glass, then retracted her gaze, focusing on the path ahead.
Xu Xiaoye suddenly said, “Try not to have conflicts with her in the future. Wang Yunshui just has a nasty mouth; just ignore her.”
An Rong frowned slightly. Xu Xiaoye had said the exact same thing in the previous life—the meaning was identical. Even if Wang Yunshui did nothing productive, Xu Xiaoye still had to split the money from her variety shows and endorsements with her, since the team’s interests were linked. Yet, even when Wang Yunshui was focused entirely on finding a rich husband, Xu Xiaoye never said a word.
And why did Xu Xiaoye remember Wang Yunshui’s name so clearly?
They weren’t even teammates yet, nor had they debuted together. Why was Xu Xiaoye already choosing to endure and back down?
Seeing An Rong’s confusion, Xu Xiaoye only gave a small smile without a direct explanation. She patted An Rong’s shoulder and said, “You did very well just now. No matter what she says, ignore her, and don’t listen to her nonsense.”
An Rong gave a hum. She began to suspect if Wang Yunshui had some sort of “backdoor” connection.
Xu Xiaoye, seeing that An Rong didn’t pry and remained obedient, felt a sense of relief. Her “possessed” protective behavior just now wasn’t in vain.
The two went back to the dorm to grab the tablet and then headed to the dance studio. Many people had already arrived. Xia Chunhua waved at them frantically. Xu Xiaoye responded with an equally exaggerated and intense wave. Despite being only two meters apart, they acted as if separated by two great mountains—both equally “sand sculpture” (silly).
An Rong stood to the side with a quiet smile, watching the two “drama queens” meet and shake hands vigorously until they nearly laughed themselves sick.
When they finally separated, An Rong walked over to Xia Chunhua and said, “The chocolate was delicious. It saved my life last night. Thank you.”
Xia Chunhua smiled like a delicate doll and shook her head. “Don’t mention it! To fit more in my suitcase, I threw all the boxes away. I just figured you’d be hungry when you got back last night.”
She leaned in and whispered, “Actually, I brought a lot. I’ll get you more when you finish those.”
Since An Rong was younger than her, Xia Chunhua felt she had to look after her. After a thought, she asked, “Do you like plushies? I have a lot. I’ll give you a few when we go back later.”
After saying that, she patted An Rong’s head, looking incredibly pleased with herself, laughing with her head tilted back.
Not gonna lie, the feeling of being a “Big Sister” is fantastic!!!
An Rong was both moved and amused. Xia Chunhua was the youngest in her family; her aunts, uncles, and all the cousins were older than her. She was the textbook definition of a little princess pampered by everyone.
The remarkable thing was that she was a “princess” who hadn’t been spoiled rotten.
Because of this, her family had been somewhat against her joining a girl group. After all, the industry has a reputation for being messy! They worried this silly girl of theirs would be eaten alive. But they couldn’t win against Xia Chunhua’s persistence, so after a few days of arguing, they reluctantly agreed.
Xia Chunhua genuinely liked An Rong, not just because of the age gap, but because she found An Rong interesting and kind.
Soon, everyone had arrived. Qin Yun took on the role of host to introduce the music teachers. Unlike the dance team, there was only one main music teacher, though the three evaluators were also mentors—it was just that not many people dared to seek them out.
After all, they were idol-level figures; the rookie girls were all a bit intimidated.
“Captains will arrange the study and training for each group. During this period, if you have any questions, feel free to ask our teachers, including the three evaluators. Every evening at 8:00 PM, you will have one hour of basic music theory. Other times are for you to arrange freely.”
An Rong clapped along. This music teacher was also from TS’s internal music department. TS wasn’t just a management agency; it was a resource-rich powerhouse with mature systems for dance and music.
As An Rong was thinking, Qin Yun suddenly asked, “Who was playing an instrument in the dorm last night?”
Qin Yun was quite serious. During yesterday’s evaluation, she had frowned almost the entire time, making everyone a bit afraid of her. Asking this now made it sound like she was looking for someone to punish. The room went silent instantly. The girls looked at one another, not daring to speak.
Zhou Rui and Shen Ri’an stood nearby, playing along with stern faces, as if the matter were extremely grave.
An Rong raised her hand, took a step forward, and said, “Teacher, it was me.”
Qin Yun turned to look at her, her expression shifted, and she suddenly smiled. “What kind of instrument were you using? Was it an Erhu?”
An Rong knew playing in the dorm didn’t violate any rules, so she wasn’t panicking at all. Hearing Qin Yun’s question, she shook her head. “It’s a Shaoqin. It’s an improved version of the Erhu—similar, but with some differences.”
She didn’t seem nervous at all, answering with calm composure, though she didn’t offer too many unnecessary details.
Only then did the crowd realize Qin Yun wasn’t going to punish anyone for playing in the dorm, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Qin Yun asked with a smile, “Can you play a song for us? Teacher Shen and Teacher Zhou didn’t get to hear it last night.”
She had overheard it while passing by downstairs. Moreover, the melody seemed to be the very song they had just distributed. Someone had already learned it in less than a day? And using an Erhu sound? Qin Yun had shared it as “news” in their private group chat, but Zhou Rui and Shen Ri’an didn’t believe her, insisting she must have misheard. That’s why Qin Yun was asking now.
An Rong nodded. “I can.”
Then, she hesitated and added, “I haven’t memorized the sheet music yet; I need to look at it while I play.”
Shen Ri’an, standing nearby, smiled kindly and said warmly, “If you could already play it perfectly from memory, we’d be the ones who are shocked. Go ahead and get your instrument so we can take a look.”
An Rong gave a hum of acknowledgment and ran out.
Zhou Rui turned his head, a slight smile touching his lips.
The world never lacks talented people, but those who have talent, responsibility, honesty, and humility are much rarer. These kids nowadays were truly something.
