After Spending a Passionate Night with the Eldest Princess - Chapter 12
Ancient people were far too insincere. At least she had reported her real surname.
Xin Yuan’s expression changed slightly. She took half a step back, putting some distance between herself and Guo Xiaowu.
Suspicion appeared in the girl’s clear black-and-white eyes.
Guo Xiaowu froze. “What kind of look is that?”
That half-step back made it seem as if Xin Yuan really disliked her.
Xin Yuan looked at her. “You didn’t also give me a fake name and surname, did you?”
Guo Xiaowu paused, then unconsciously raised her voice. “What kind of person are you? I treated you as a good sister, yet you suspect me.”
Why had this suddenly been turned onto her? It was truly headache-inducing.
Xin Yuan chuckled. “You’re shouting so loudly because you feel guilty, aren’t you? And here I thought I had treated you with sincerity. Forget it. Let’s just pretend we never knew each other.”
What good sister? They had only known each other for half a day. Plastic sisters was more like it.
While complaining inwardly, she did not forget to raise her head and sigh, putting on a disappointed and lonely expression.
Seeing this, Guo Xiaowu could not help feeling awkward. “Actually, I didn’t lie to you either. My surname really is Guo. The same Guo as Prince Xiang.”
The part she had lied about was that Prince Xiang, that old bastard, was not her uncle. He was her biological father.
Xin Yuan glanced at her and sighed. “When away from home, it’s reasonable for you to be wary of others. I understand. Let’s continue talking about Miss Qin.”
So the surname was real, but the name was fake. This sister’s relationship with Prince Xiang might also have been watered down.
Seeing that Xin Yuan no longer pursued the matter, Guo Xiaowu calmed herself and said mysteriously, “Miss Qin should be either rich or noble. If she intends to make things difficult for us, I’m afraid we won’t be able to escape.”
“And then?”
“There is no then.”
Xin Yuan choked. “Aren’t you just saying nonsense? I’m going back to sleep. Goodbye.”
After talking for so long, it was the same as saying nothing. And she had even made it all seem so mysterious. What a waste of Xin Yuan’s expression.
Watching Xin Yuan leave, Guo Xiaowu let out a long breath of relief, her expression complicated.
She had originally wanted to say her guess, but after Xin Yuan interrupted her like this, she suddenly realized that since Miss Qin had intentionally concealed her identity, she definitely did not want anyone to expose her.
Just like Guo Xiaowu herself.
What if Xin Yuan could not control her emotions and gave it away? What if Miss Qin came after Guo Xiaowu afterward?
That was the Eldest Princess. She could not afford to offend her.
That was right. Guo Xiaowu had already guessed Miss Qin’s true identity.
In recent years, Xidao had not produced any important court officials surnamed Qin. Among the high-ranking officials in the Ministry of Revenue, only one had in-laws with the surname Qin.
That was Minister Lu of the Ministry of Revenue. Minister Lu had only one younger sister, and that person was Empress Dowager Huixian. As it happened, the Xidao imperial family’s surname was Qin.
Thinking of this, Miss Qin’s identity was obvious.
Minister Lu of the Ministry of Revenue was her maternal uncle, and her father had indeed once held overwhelming power in court.
In other words, Miss Qin was the current dynasty’s Eldest Princess, the late emperor’s only legitimate daughter, whom he had once cherished like a pearl in his palm.
Guo Xiaowu suddenly felt as if everyone else was drunk and she alone was sober. As expected, clever people were lonely.
Now, she and Xin Yuan truly would not be able to escape.
However, why was the Eldest Princess bringing them to the capital? She could not be planning to send them to the little emperor as consorts, could she?
Guo Xiaowu touched her own face. With her outstanding appearance, she did indeed have the potential to outshine the entire inner palace.
But that little sister Xin Yuan only had a delicate and pretty appearance. She was not quite enough, right?
Xin Yuan, who had been judged “not quite enough,” was currently trying to make herself sleepy.
In a daze, her vision blurred for a moment, then gradually cleared.
The familiar scene. The not-so-familiar Miss Qin.
The woman’s red lips curved faintly, her brows and eyes gentle. When she reached out to tug at Xin Yuan’s collar, her wide sleeve slipped down slightly, revealing a fair wrist like frost. There was still a faint red mark on it that had not faded, like pale rosy mist, adding a different kind of charm.
Xin Yuan quietly looked at the woman before her, allowing her to tug at her collar and following her down onto the bed.
The corners of the woman’s eyes lifted, alluring and captivating.
Xin Yuan silently relaxed her body. Following the woman’s movements, she reached out and wrapped her arms around that slender waist, so delicate it seemed one hand could encircle it.
Although her mind remained clear, she had to admit that this woman in the dream truly knew how to seduce people.
Every frown and smile could overturn all living beings…
When the other woman lowered her head and leaned closer, Xin Yuan unconsciously closed her eyes.
Why was she strangely looking forward to this…
The woman did not disappoint her expectations. In the space of a breath, those red lips arrived as promised.
Soft. Warm. Intoxicating.
Even though Xin Yuan had prepared herself mentally, she still nearly sank into it.
She opened her eyes with some guilt.
The woman moved her lips away. Her beautiful eyes were filled with tenderness. She watched Xin Yuan with a smile for an instant, then, as though inviting her, took her hand and slowly guided it upward.
Xin Yuan’s breath hitched. Forcing herself to remain rational, she followed the woman’s guidance. Her palm landed somewhere, stiffly stroking through the fabric.
This was deadly…
Xin Yuan felt as though her breathing was about to explode, and her fingers began trembling uncontrollably.
Sensing what was about to happen next, she took a deep breath and said in an unsteady voice, “Do you want to change positions? Me on top, you below. It would be more convenient.”
The woman paused slightly…
She quietly stared at Xin Yuan, her dark brows faintly furrowed. Her long hair was black as ink, and her fair cheeks were like peerless jade, radiant and shimmering.
Pure confusion gathered in those beautiful eyes, brushing away a trace of softness and revealing a bit of coldness.
Yet her beauty was vivid and magnificent. Her red dress was passionate without losing dignity, and amid her countless charms was a hint of restraint, making her temperament difficult to define.
One moment indulgent…
The next moment restrained…
Restrained… indulgent…
The two words battled back and forth in Xin Yuan’s mind, neither gaining the upper hand.
Just then, the woman smiled, pressed Xin Yuan’s hand, and brought it to her waist.
Xin Yuan froze, crying for help in her heart. The battle in her mind had finally produced a winner.
If restraint could not hold, then indulgence was the only choice.
Seeing Xin Yuan motionless, the woman seemed to realize something. A trace of unreal shyness flashed across her face, and she began untying her own sash.
The red dress gradually slipped away, and the gauze curtains around the bed grew warm.
Jade-white skin, graceful curves—she did not need to do anything, and she already stole one’s soul.
Xin Yuan abruptly closed her eyes, screaming for help again in her heart. She was about to fall…
Soft jade and warm fragrance entered her embrace, leaving her no room to escape.
Heaven and reason warred in Xin Yuan’s mind. For some reason, she did not dare open her eyes…
Amid her extreme tension, a hand landed by her temple, gently stroking the corner of her eye, then her brow…
Xin Yuan steadied herself. Her eyelashes fluttered a few times, and she opened her eyes very slowly. Then she felt her vision darken.
Slender, pale fingers covered her eyes. Her right hand was guided again, pressing against delicate skin and exploring downward.
Xin Yuan struggled fiercely inside. The instant her fingers touched that lush, fragrant softness, she squeezed her eyes shut, went limp all over, and directly played dead.
Fine. She admitted it. She was a coward. She was useless. She had not expected it to become real!
Following this action, all sensation abruptly disappeared.
Xin Yuan instinctively opened her eyes and saw Miss Qin retreat like light and shadow.
Her vision went dark, and she woke from the nightmare, sitting up blankly.
It was over. Ruined. She had tried to steal a chicken but lost the rice instead.
That woman had definitely discovered her intention…
Now there was no need to sleep. She could just wait to be dealt with.
Contrary to her expectations, until dawn, Miss Qin did not come to accuse her.
Early the next morning, Xin Yuan did not even eat breakfast. The moment she left her room, she rushed straight to the carriage outside the inn and climbed in ahead of everyone.
Just as she was feeling lucky, someone got into the carriage.
Xin Yuan blurted out, “Why didn’t you go to the carriage in front?”
The person who entered had a cold face. Beneath her exquisite brows and eyes, a bluish shadow could not be hidden.
“Xin. Lai. Di.”
Miss Qin spoke heavily, enunciating each word.
Xin Yuan silently leaned backward, her back pressed tightly against the carriage wall.
“I don’t like that name. Miss Qin should just call me Xin Yuan.”
Miss Qin’s gaze was dark and heavy, like the calm before a storm, carrying a murderous chill.
“You had better give me an explanation.”
They had agreed that if they met in the dream, Xin Yuan would tie her up. But what had happened instead? How dared this person!
Being stared at by her made Xin Yuan’s heart feel terribly guilty. Her gaze dodged to the side, and even her voice became light and airy. “What explanation? I didn’t dream of you last night.”
She had decided. She would never admit it, even if beaten to death.
Seeing her play dumb, Miss Qin sneered. “Is that so? Then from now on, you had better stop dreaming.”
After saying this, she rose and left.
Xin Yuan froze. What did that mean?
Very soon, she understood what it meant, because the next people to get into the carriage were not only Guo Xiaowu, but also an unfamiliar young guard.
The carriage compartment for three people felt a little cramped…
Xin Yuan and Guo Xiaowu looked at each other for a moment, neither speaking for a while.
The carriage began moving. Sleepiness came over her.
Just as Xin Yuan closed her eyes and prepared to catch up on sleep, she heard a sharp smack.
Her ears immediately buzzed, and half her face hurt so badly it went numb.
